Qin Zhongquan had no idea how Gary had convinced him. Even when he arrived at the Red Moon Empire immigration office three weeks later, he was still confusedly deducing what might happen in the future. Fortunately, there was no chance of a third party interfering on this trip, so he had plenty of time to figure it all out.
The Imperial Entry Station is essentially an artificial satellite orbiting the sun, not a Venusian orbital station. It is minimally affected by Venus's gravity. Therefore, it can adjust its orbital altitude to stay hidden from the sun's rays, avoiding the intense sun's scorch. It resembles an ancient wharf left on Earth's coastline, with countless anchorages extending like branches, and various ships bobbing up and down like insects pollinating flowers. Countless goods and people follow these branches upstream, ultimately converging into a cylindrical structure that tapers at both ends and thickens in the middle.
The Red Moon Empire had its own local area network, so it wasn't affected too much by network fluctuations. However, the recent overseas cargo throughput had decreased significantly, so much so that when Qin Zhongquan and Gary arrived, they didn't even have to queue up before they could reach the immigration registration window unimpeded.
Behind the transparent explosion-proof glass, a staff member in a dark blue uniform sat upright, with countless bound synthetic papers piled on both sides and behind him.
Seeing someone coming, the man immediately said to the two in a polite and clear voice: "How many people are there? What are your IDs? What are you doing here?"
Gary stepped forward and handed over two booklets. "It's just the two of us, and we're here for a trip and to visit some friends," he replied.
"You picked a great time!" The uniformed man carefully reviewed their IDs, then glanced at their faces. After comparing them and confirming they were correct, he stamped each booklet with a red stamp before continuing, "Pay the deposit, a total of 1,400 for both of you. Do you have Imperial Coins? It would be much more convenient."
"Yes, yes, yes!" Gary was about to pull money out of his pocket, looking like a tourist going abroad for the first time. Fortunately, the uniformed man kindly reminded him at the right time, stopping him: "Pay at the next window."
Gary thanked them, and the two continued along the planned route and soon obtained entry permits.
The entry permit was a piece of white plastic with some words on it. It was quite flexible, so it couldn't be folded, and was usually stored in a metallic plastic tube. Qin Zhongquan glanced at it. There were only two lines of information on it that were truly useful: one line contained the two people's ID information, and the other was an identification code that could be used by spacecraft or ground vehicles.
They returned the same way, entered the 32-bit code of the entry permit that was valid for a limited time into the transponder of Gary's car, and then started the white-painted RX-4600, completed the departure procedures, and legally landed on Venus.
Their first stop was naturally the old capital of the empire, which was located near the dusk line. According to Gary, the "know-it-all," the old capital housed a vast library that recorded everything about humanity. Unlike the burned-out library on the moon, this one only recorded the most essential aspects of humanity.
It is not a treasure house, but a mirror.
"Have you finished watching? It's time to prepare for landing." Gary said to Qin Zhongquan, who was leaning against the viewfinder to watch the golden and gray atmospheric convection.
"Is your boat corrosion-resistant?" Qin Zhongquan returned to the flight seat and asked while securing himself.
"Of course, I spent a lot of money to maintain the boat for this trip!" Gary said, pressing the confirmation button on the control panel.
