It wasn't until that evening that she finally got a clear look at her "Beast General" form from someone else's perspective—and her first impression was how black it was. "It's completely black, maybe it's the lighting, but there's a golden thread running from the back of my head to the tip of my tail, like shrimp thread. And I have two horns on my head, so why do I look so much like a blind Tallnut? Could I be a Tal'darim?" She saw that where her hair should be, there were now several black and gold nerve bundles, and they were now moving without wind. The Tal'darim were a fantasy race she'd encountered in an RTS game, specializing in psionic powers. "So, wouldn't my superpowers be 'Psionic Sensing' and 'Psionic Control'? So, wouldn't 'Psionic Storm' be far behind?" This guy suddenly felt excited, feeling that his future was secure. Whatever the hell, he couldn't handle it without a psychic lightning bolt. If he had one, he'd have two.
"This foot looks like a goat's hoof, doesn't it?" Jiang Youwei suddenly recalled some bad memories, and she choked up a little: "So the system really turned me into a succubus!"
If this "succubus" that is over three meters tall, has unclear facial features and four arms appears in front of you, will you be moved?
Beyond this appearance, Jiang Youwei noticed a spherical, oily film surrounding her body, enveloping her entire form. "Is it a psychic shield?" She attempted to manipulate a wad of tissue paper to fling it at the membrane, but it passed through unhindered. "It seems it can't block anything." She asked Jiang Wenwu to touch the membrane with her small hand—nothing special. "Can't block anything? So it's just a special trick!" She tried to control the membrane. If she could turn it off, it would be less conspicuous. Without it, with her biomass nightgown, she could easily roam the streets unhindered under cover of darkness.
Then she felt the strength in her body rapidly draining away: "Damn, damn, damn, it's like I flew seven times in one night!"
A massive surge of energy expanded from the Beast God Crystal in Jiang Youwei's chest, forming a sphere. Upon contact with the oil film, it shone with a dazzling white light, transforming into a thicker shell of light, which expanded in radius. Arcs of electricity and air currents twisted and swirled across its surface. The shell expanded, squeezing even the sofa beneath him, causing it to creak. The coffee table in front of him, upon contact with the shell, was slowly but firmly pushed. After about three seconds, the sofa, unable to bear the weight, shattered in two. The splintering wood was also contained by the shell, and the floor tiles beneath the sofa also cracked in a shockwave-like pattern upon contact.
"Ah, stop, stop, stop!" Jiang Youwei sensed something was wrong and tried to stop the shell from expanding. However, the shell expanded a little more, completely crushing the tiles below and forming a dent before it stabilized and stopped moving.
The entire expansion process lasted about five seconds, reaching a stable state and remaining there for another ten seconds. Just as Jiang Youwei felt a hint of fatigue, it suddenly shattered like a soap bubble, dissipating the excess energy in the form of light. Then, the oily spherical surface re-formed around it. From the outside, it looked like the house had been hit by a flash bomb.
Recovering from her daze, Jiang Youwei saw a concave circular area forming around her, and she fell into thought: "So the oil film is actually a shield under normal conditions. With just a thought, I can unleash its terrifying defensive power? I wonder how strong it is." There was no way to test its defensive power, and she didn't have the right tools. Not to mention whether a kitchen knife at home could penetrate it, just seeing the concrete being crushed should give her a clear understanding. Jiang Youwei, a civil engineer, was well aware of the compressive strength of the concrete used in these old residential communities. She was now doubtful whether the floor of her building had been damaged. "If the ceiling downstairs is cracked, it will be a big problem tomorrow." She quickly used her telekinesis to check the floor slab: "Luckily, there are only some cracks in this small area." She had already thought of a plan for the next day.
Jiang Youwei feels that her ability to demolish houses has become even stronger. She is now considering whether to find a relatively open and deserted place to test her ability in the future: "By the way, the system doesn't have any reminders. What if one day it sends out a big guy or just a big explosion?" Thinking of this, Jiang Youwei felt a little scared.
Get rid of these random thoughts. It's not a big deal now anyway. If the rules I summarized are correct, the next time the "system" is turned on will be six days later. By then, I can just find an abandoned warehouse the night before and spend the night there.
More on that later. By the time Jiang Youwei regained consciousness and resumed her awareness of the people and events unfolding on this local map, something unexpected had already happened. "What the hell? Is this a serious problem?" She saw several instances of light flashing, shifting, and spreading out, similar to those seen a few nights ago. Just an hour later, she had confirmed at least twenty similar incidents within a 200-kilometer radius. "It seems to be increasing, but there's no news online?" Jiang Wenwu, who shared her view, was scrolling through his phone. This reminded her of the strange video from a few days ago. Perhaps these events were simply extensions of the same story. "What are they hiding?" Jiang Youwei felt she had grasped the situation. It wasn't just her; the neighbors around her also felt these things weren't a big deal. Normally, things should start with a period of tension and then ease—the initial period is the most tense, and things should get better over time. But what was going on this time? They felt like there was no end in sight. Even the previous epidemics hadn't mobilized as many troops as this one.
