Chapter 267: Sky Beast

Chapter 267: Sky Beast

The team members felt like a mountain was pressing down on them.

The banshee stood in front of the few people, blocking the dazzling sunlight. She looked around, and then her confused eyes fell on Kyle, who still had the copper whistle in his mouth.

"You called for backup?"

"Yes!" Kyle saluted.

The tall Banshee paused, took off her helmet, and her golden hair fluttered in the air.

"Master Nini!"

"It's Lady Nini!"

"Oh my god, it's actually the living Lord Nini. I saw Lord Nini!"

Several new recruits of the Crusaders immediately began to discuss in a low voice. Nini was very popular in the Crusaders. Apart from anything else, if she had not used the fish herding spell to store a lot of dried fish in advance, the food supply would have been restricted during the previous war.

Coupled with her statue in front of the school, Nini's name is known to everyone on the island.

Nini held her waist with five hands and held her helmet with one hand. She enjoyed the attention of several people for a while before asking Kyle, "Where are the enemies?"

Kyle pointed at the murloc who was still crawling and charging on the ground not far away.

Nini bent down, looked at the fishman with her head down for a while, then carefully reached out and poked it.

The fishman responded with a strange cry.

"It turns out he's still alive. I thought he was a corpse."

She looked carefully at the fishman's cracked skin for a while, and paused for a moment, as if communicating with someone in her heart.

Kyle had heard that these banshees could talk directly to people far away in their minds. What a convenient ability.

Soon, Nini came back to her senses. She circled the fishman a few times, then stopped and fell into deep thought, stroking her chin with her five hands in turn.

"Ah, my lord, the fish-man!"

Suddenly, a Crusader called out in a low voice, and Kyle and Nini hurriedly looked at the murloc.

The fishman seemed to have used up his last bit of strength, and he just lay there on the ground, as if dead.

Under the gazes of several people, the fishman quickly melted like an ice cube into a pool of semi-fluid, which gradually turned black in color and then slowly condensed into small black insects.

"pollute?"

Everyone is familiar with this thing. Most people on the island have come into contact with steam engines. Except for the first few, the subsequent steam engines basically used physical pollution as raw materials.

After the war broke out on the island, people were often sent to pull back the corpses of monsters from the battlefield, and after they became contaminated, they were filled into steam engines and burned.

What they see right before their eyes is pollution.

"How long does it take for a monster's corpse to become contaminated?" Nini said to herself.

"A whole day after death." Kyle answered without hesitation. He used to be a boilerman and was responsible for this area, so he was very familiar with it.

Then the eyes of several people fell on the black squirming semi-fluid.

"It turns into pollution immediately after death." Nini was stunned again. After a moment, she nodded and said, "I see. I know what's going on."

"The seawater has dried up. There is no seawater here at all. I just asked other observation posts, and all the monsters are slowly dying and turning into pollution. And this pollution..."

Nini moved to the side and made way.

The pollution seemed to have its own will. It was not attracted by the few living people next to it, but moved slowly in a certain direction outside the island.

"This pollution will slowly move to the Jewel Bay, to the monsters in the Pirate King's Court. Even though there is no sea water, it still attracts them."

Nini turned her head and looked into the distance facing the sunlight, which was the direction of the Pirate King's Court.

Suddenly, it became dark above their heads, and the sunlight was blocked by something huge.

Not only these few people here, but a large area around them was plunged into shadow.

The patrol and Nini raised their heads together.

Half the sky darkened, as if something was above the clouds, and they soon saw it.

A huge oval shadow fell in the eyes of several people. Its head with sharp fangs pierced out from the rolling clouds. It was a huge airship with a yellow skin. The steel spokes supported its frame like a spine, reflecting a cold and hard lead gray in the sunlight.

A few wisps of white clouds were pulled into long lines by the airship, and an array of propeller blades in different directions were slowly rotating, driven by a roaring engine.

When it fully appeared, even the sun was obscured into a dim spot of light, and the circular tail at the rear cut the clouds into strips.

Several people were so scared that they sat on the ground. This giant beast floating in the sky seemed to be about to swallow them up in the next moment. It also seemed like the sky was about to fall, and the whole world seemed to be destroyed at this moment.

But it did not fall down. It did not even notice the few people. It just moved straight forward. What just fell down was just its unimaginably huge shadow.

"That's it."

"The lord calls the newly built airship the Sky Curtain Behemoth, which is a very appropriate name." Nini held the helmet and looked up at the huge airship.

"It is said that they were originally going to build ten airships, but Hughes suddenly changed his mind and asked the researchers of the Fire Moth to build a bigger one. So they combined the original airships together and added a lot of materials to create this giant beast."

The airflow from the airship blew up Nini's long golden hair. She smiled and said, "I made the steel hoop on it myself. It took a whole day just to fill the airship with hydrogen. The air bags are piled up like a mountain."

Kyle swallowed hard. He was so scared that he sat on the ground. Although he stood up now, his legs were still shaking uncontrollably.

"Lord Ninini, what is this airship used for? Don't we need to fight anymore?"

"There is indeed no need to fight, but Castel is running out of fuel. Look, there are so many factories on the island, and they consume countless pollution as fuel every day. Without the bodies of the fishmen and the arm monsters, won't those factories have to stop operating?"

Kyle was stunned.

He had never thought about this problem. He was just a boiler operator. To him, fuel seemed to appear out of thin air and would always be refreshed on the transport vehicle.

If there is no fuel, the boiler stops, the factory stops, he loses his job and goes back to the time when he couldn't even have food to eat. "No, we can't stop, sir, the war can't stop, we still have to go fishermen and get fuel!" Kyle clenched the gun in his hand.

"That airship is used to carry fuel." Nini said with a smile, "Go to the Pirate King's Court and carry back a piece of fuel that will never run out!"
