Chapter 365: Mortals Facing the Evil God

Chapter 365: Mortals Facing the Evil God

suicide?!

Kyle felt a chill on his back, and a feeling of fear gradually enveloped his heart.

So that's why. No wonder even though they didn't kill any of the Mother Goddess's believers, [Mother] became stronger and stronger. When these believers found that they couldn't die, they chose to commit suicide.

But, but, why? Grandma said that the "Mother" only accepts voluntary sacrifices from believers, and the slightest coercion will lead to the failure of the ritual. They are all willing? So many people? Would they rather die than bring destruction to this world? Thinking of this, Kyle felt a chill.

Boom! The huge limbs fell, and the broken stones and wooden boards flew everywhere.

The meat mountain caught up with him again. Kyle had no time to think and had to quickly lead the Crusaders to hide.

The [Mother] swung her sword in vain, without hurting the little bugs on the ground, but it was not without gain. She raised her hands, and the limbs that stretched out from her flesh and blood grabbed one corpse after another.

The corpses of the Mother Goddess' followers.

The hideous and disgusting [Mother] suddenly became gentle in her movements. She carefully picked out the corpses one by one, put them into her mouth and swallowed them. When she raised her head again, the look in her eyes became even more angry.

Devouring several corpses did not make His body grow noticeably, but He never stopped devouring. The corpses of the Mother Goddess's believers seemed endless, and there were always believers coming to die.

With the accumulation of little by little, "His" growth became hard to ignore, his attacks became increasingly difficult to dodge, and his huge body could cause horrific damage just by moving.

The Crusaders on the battlefield became more and more frightened as they fought. The powerful monsters were one thing, but the believers of the Mother Goddess who kept dying were what really frightened them.

These believers of the Mother Goddess lined up, one after another, stepping forward to greet the bullets with their flesh and blood. There was neither fanaticism nor fear on their faces, as if they were silent stones.

These silent stones built a wall of flesh and blood.

They are so weak, yet they stand in front of the [loving mother], like worker bees guarding the queen bee.

The hands of the Crusaders who were pulling the triggers began to feel numb, but the believers of the Mother Goddess on the opposite side seemed unaware and moved forward slowly but firmly.

"No, we can't go on like this." Kyle gritted his teeth and shouted, "Mother-in-law, we have to retreat!"

[Mother] is getting stronger faster and faster. Although the Crusaders can still maneuver, they are already in danger. If they don’t leave now, they may not be able to withdraw!

"What's going on with the secret society!?" Kyle was extremely anxious.

However, the mother-in-law who had been roaming the battlefield did not respond to him. Just when Kyle was furious and ready to evacuate without caring about anything, the sound of horse hooves suddenly came from not far away.

Bang! With a gunshot, the tiny bullet flew towards the Mother and was submerged in Her flesh and blood.

The battlefield was silent for a moment, and the Crusaders and the [Mother] looked towards the other side of the battlefield, where a group of cavalry were crossing the corner and entering their sight.

"We are a little late, Caster's allies." A loud shout came.

"Prince?!" Kyle blurted out in surprise.

This team of cavalry was the elite of the Harbor Guard. Although they still had fear on their faces, they still came to the battlefield.

The first person to come forward was the prince, the musket in his hand still emitting smoke, which he casually put into the holster at his waist.

He held the reins with one hand and skillfully controlled the horse to draw an arc in front of [Mother].

The attention of [Mother] was attracted by this team of harbor guards, and the Crusaders had a rare opportunity to catch their breath for a moment.

"Captain Kyle, isn't that the prince? He actually went to the battlefield himself?"

Kyle didn't answer, he was also very surprised.

After all, the prince is the lord of a place. How can Grand Duke Tis go to the battlefield personally?

Kyle couldn't tell whether this was bravery or recklessness. He just watched in shock as the Harbor Guards rushed towards [Mother].

They were not wearing any armor - this was understandable, as armor would only be a burden on a battlefield like this, and traveling light would make them more agile.

Each soldier in this team carried several muskets. The Crusader's bolt-action rifles only needed to be loaded with bullets and loaded before they could be fired again, but the muskets were not like that. Obviously, there was no chance to reload when facing the [Mother], so they chose to carry a few more loaded muskets.

But this also confused Kyle: the Crusaders could not achieve results with bolt-action rifles, so why did the prince think that the Harbor Guards could do it with muskets? This cavalry team was obviously quite elite. Some of them had pale faces, some had teeth chattering, and some were so scared that their bodies were stiff, but even so, no one fell behind.

The prince and Galahad charged in the front, followed by the soldiers. The weapons in their hands looked like toys in front of the huge mountain of flesh, but they still gritted their teeth and rushed forward.

This scene was deeply engraved in Kyle's mind. He was originally just a laborer in the Rhine factory and looked down on the noble knights. But looking at the prince leading the way in front of him, an inexplicable feeling rose from the bottom of his heart.

If he followed such a lord to fight, even if there was an evil god in front of him, he would dare to rush forward, right? Even if he was a coward.

Kyle seemed to gradually understand why the prince appeared here.

These crusaders have fought countless battles with monsters and have fought side by side with extraordinary beings and banshees. A powerful enemy is still an enemy; it's just that they are more difficult to defeat.

But the prince and the harbor guards, they are just ordinary people.

The most powerful enemies they faced were just gangsters on the docks and scattered cultists.

The [Mother] in front of them was the real evil god, and they seemed to be charging towards a mountain.

The fact that the harbor guards were not frightened crazy meant that they were determined enough. And fighting? Kyle's eyes fell on the prince.

This person seems to never be afraid, he always charges forward.

He clearly had countless honors and wealth, but he threw them aside without a care and walked onto the battlefield himself to stand in front of the soldiers.

The evil god was as invincible as a mountain. He was like a high wall, blocking the fear for the soldiers behind him.

Fear, dread, prayer, helplessness, these emotions disappeared when I saw his back.

The prince may be cruel and ruthless, and regard human life as worthless.

But he appeared here, leading the mortals to face the evil god.

Kyle suddenly realized that only with him here could the soldiers take up arms and Blood Harbor would have the last glimmer of hope.

But where is the hope?

In front of [Mother], this team of knights is nothing more than a group of larger ants. Being brave or cowardly is just a matter of choosing a posture for death.

Under the gaze of everyone, the running prince raised his gun.
