Chapter 540: Forgotten Temple
The rope ladder was pulled up with all the strength of the people on the airship. Gwen grabbed the cabin door and stared down.
White fog, white fog, seemingly endless white fog, the airship was like a lone boat sailing in the sea of clouds.
She stared blankly for a long time, then suddenly turned around and asked the people in the cabin, "Who was that little girl just now?"
The cabin was silent for a moment, and everyone turned to look at her.
"What little girl?"
"A girl about this tall, small, with white hair and white pupils. She looks very similar. In short, she is a little girl of about eight or nine years old!"
The people on the airship exchanged surprised looks, and finally a man dressed as an expeditionary force stood up:
"There was no little girl on the airship. Where did you see her?"
"She was down there, no, in the air. Just when we were about to be caught by the skeleton, she fell down. Wait, there is no little girl on your airship?"
"Yes, the airship is a combat unit after all, and it is on its way to perform a mission. How could they allow a little girl to board it?"
Gwen opened her mouth but couldn't say anything. Indeed, it was strange to have a little girl on the airship, but... She looked down at the white mist below, then turned back to look at the people in the airship.
The little girl really disappeared just like that. No one knew and no one noticed. She sacrificed herself silently.
"What about the skeleton? Did it disappear on its own? She clearly defeated the giant skeleton, and then it never came back. Didn't any of you notice?"
Gwen shouted excitedly, but the eyes of the people around her were confused?
"Bone skeletons? Well, there were indeed a lot of bones just now, but did you see any skeletons?"
The expeditionary forces shook their heads.
"Ms. Gwen, we have some sedatives here. Are you upset?"
"Impossible! Just now those bones gathered together to form a huge skeleton, and almost pulled our airship down. Didn't you see it? Impossible, impossible!!"
Gwen felt like she was going crazy, what was going on?
Hodge stepped forward, his eyes filled with worry, and said softly, "Gwen, relax. We are safe now. Put down the machine gun first."
"I'm normal, I'm not crazy, but I just saw it, didn't you guys see it?"
"Gwen, you just said that the bones formed a giant skeleton and almost shot down the airship, but this is obviously unreasonable. If they have this ability, why don't they use it right away?"
"Let's take a step back and say that even if such a huge giant appeared, a little girl - let's not talk about whether this little girl really exists, can she kill this huge bone giant by herself? No extraordinary person has such powerful strength, right?"
Gwen was speechless. She knew that what Hodge said made sense, but was it all just an illusion? Was that little girl and her sacrifice an illusion? The soldiers of the expeditionary force all looked worried. They made way for Gwen and vacated a seat next to the filing cabinet. The medical team members poured her a calming drink.
Gwen held the glass of water in her hand, but she had an indescribable feeling in her heart.
Obviously everyone was concerned about her, but she felt a chill in her heart.
The people here really forgot everything that just happened.
She wanted to do something, but didn't know how to do it, like walking alone in a desolate wilderness, drawing her sword but not being able to find where the enemy was.
Gwen sat in a chair, her eyes full of confusion and pain.
Suddenly, her aimless eyes froze, and then she slowly turned her head to look at the filing cabinet on the side.
"The wind and snow buried the past, but the temple will never forget it?"
She read the words on it quietly.
"Oh, this is the book of the Silent Church. We selected some classics as references. This sentence is the most widely circulated. Many churches will engrave it on their doors. This sentence is engraved on the head of Nora's hammer."
Hodge on the side explained casually.
He reached out and pulled out the page of document: "I almost forgot, you are a White Crow, you should know more about this than us, we just made some simple understanding."
Gwen slowly raised her head and looked at Hotch intently.
"Which temple?"
"Ah?" Hodge was stunned for a moment. "The Temple of Silence. Isn't Nora the priest of the Temple of Silence? Are you okay?"
"No, I remember now. They were previously called the Forgotten Temple." Gwen's whole body began to tremble. She felt as if she had grasped some clues that she had been ignoring.
"Bury the past and never forget it"
"What happened in the Silence Temple?"
She said to herself, "Keep living." Does she know herself?
The sunlight fell on the ebony dining table inlaid with gold threads. Hunter poured the amber cedar mead into the goblet, sniffed it gently, and smiled with satisfaction.
He handed the goblet across the table, looked at Grisha's childish face, then took his hand back and replaced it with a bottle of ice thorn juice.
Grisha looked at Hunter, then looked down at the scones on the silver serving tray.
"How is it? I dare say that even Archbishop Alexei does not have such exquisite meals in the military camp."
Grisha nodded in agreement. "Indeed, this cake smells really good. One time when I was on guard in the forest, I fell asleep. When I woke up, many coyotes gathered under the tree. It took me five days to find a chance to escape. During this time, I could only eat the snow on the trees."
"I was almost starving. After I found the campsite, Sister Gwen was roasting potatoes. I grabbed one and ate it. It was the most delicious thing in the world."
Grisha smiled foolishly and pointed at the scone on the plate: "This one is only slightly worse than that one."
Hunter swallowed his saliva and said quickly, "Baked potatoes? Is it easy to make? After the war, bake one for me and I will teach you calculus!"
"Really? Calculus is fun?"
"Interesting, it's one of the most interesting things in the world. But I seem to lack some talent. Castel is even better than me as a snack stand owner."
"Well, it's okay. I'm always clumsy and can't do anything right."
"Forget it, let's not talk about this, let's eat together!"
"good!"
Both the big and small person smiled and started eating.
"Well, come to think of it, how come you have so many good things here? I see their barracks are very simple."
"Oh, before, the family I belonged to refused to surrender, so I showed Alexi a few secret passages, and we captured the family's fortress without much effort. Then they moved these things to my place."
Hunter shrugged.
