Chapter 591 When she came, Castel went crazy
From the bell tower on top of Castres' cathedral came the deep tinkling of the bells, the first time they had been rung since their completion.
The workers in the factories on the island all raised their heads and looked towards the direction of the cathedral with shock on their faces. The crusaders had already begun to rush towards the machine gun position on the top of the cathedral.
The sudden appearance of a huge ship near the port triggered the alarm mechanism and Castel entered a state of emergency according to the plan.
Castres was already highly fortified, and even important factories were placed within the walls of the church-fortress complex.
After the cathedral rang the bell, the surrounding bell towers also rang one after another, and the low bell sound echoed throughout the island.
People from all over the island immediately rushed to the nearest webway entrance. The Deep Sea War had only been a few years ago, and most of the islanders had experienced that period of war, so they reacted subconsciously.
Alarms sounded throughout the church and people were running quickly in the corridors, busy but not chaotically implementing the emergency plan.
Soon, teams of fully armed crusaders rushed to the firing holes throughout the church, machine gun arrays began to load ammunition, and Castel bared his fangs.
In the tallest cathedral, as the crusaders pulled the lever, the steam engine let out a loud roar. After a burst of mechanical collisions, a crack appeared in the newly added steel ceiling in the patio, and then slowly retreated to both sides.
There was a rumble and a huge hole appeared on the ground in the atrium. Below was a mechanical structure with countless gears intertwined, as well as
An airship.
The airship slowly rose up from the gap in the retreating steel ceiling.
This is a new configuration added by Castel Cathedral. The airship airport is located near the port on the outskirts of the island, too far away from the central fortress cluster. If there is an invasion by foreign enemies, it is likely to fall immediately.
Therefore, several mechanical opening devices were added to the patio of Castres Cathedral, and the network was expanded to create an underground space, where several airships were parked on the underground helipad.
Today, the cathedral has closed all external channels on land, entered a state of combat readiness, and launched airships into the air for reconnaissance.
The islanders outside the fortress quickly returned to the fortress through the underground network and came to their posts.
It was not surprising that Castel had such a violent reaction. Although the black ark rising from the sea looked very much like Castel's style, it was definitely not any of Castel's ships.
It's just too big.
Compared to the entire Castel Island, this steel ark is naturally much smaller, but compared to any ship, no matter which ship it is, it is ridiculously large.
Tata was standing at the observation hole on top of the cathedral at the moment. He looked at the steel ark on the sea with excitement and his face flushed. "Look! What a big ship! I said that ships should be built bigger, bigger is better! Now it seems that I was too conservative. A ship of only one thousand meters is not enough. Only a big ship like this will make sense!"
"Oh, it would be great if I could build such a big ship myself."
He slapped his thigh in frustration.
Nini was also patting her thigh. Well, to be more precise, she was patting her tail.
"Why didn't I try the process I wrote?" Nini slapped her tail with her six hands in annoyance. "If I go through this again and summon such a big guy, it will be worth it even if I die!"
"Then why didn't you try it then?" the banshee next to her asked curiously.
"I'm not stupid. Why would I try such a stupid process? I'm really stupid. Really."
Several banshees nearby took a step back and gathered together to mutter.
"What should we do? Lady Nini looks like she has gone crazy."
"What is this? Castell's syndrome?"
"That's not right. Others who come to Castel are crazy themselves. When Gwen comes, everyone in Castel goes crazy except her. This should be called Gwen syndrome."
"So what should we do next?"
"What else can we do? We can just watch from the sidelines. This thing was summoned by Gwen. If she can control it, then everyone will be happy. If she can't, then we can call in the airship to bomb it until she can control it. Anyway, the Skyshroud Beast is parked on the island. I don't think it has taken off yet. It must be busy hanging bombs."
"What if Gwen can control it, but she chooses to rebel against Castel, capture the cathedral, and seize the position of lord of Hughes? What should we do then?"
".Nini, go to the toilet and talk."
Several banshees looked in the direction of the sound. As expected, Nini emerged from the water with a wry smile: "Sorry, sorry, it's a professional habit."
"That boat is moving!"
Several banshees were startled and quickly turned to look at the iron ark behind them.
The banshees were too close to the giant ship. They could only see the sea water surging under the cliff-like side of the ship. Only on the cruising airship in the air could they barely see the whole picture.
The sails of this huge ark suddenly inflated, the outer wheels on both sides began to rotate, and the underwater propellers stirred up waves.
There doesn't seem to be any problem.
But if you look closely, everything is full of weirdness.
The bulging sails were nothing more than pieces of steel armor that were trying hard to bend. The outer wheels on both sides had no bearings, but were simply and roughly glued to the sides of the hull. However, it still slowly rotated under the inexplicable force.
As for the underwater propellers, there seems to be no problem at first glance, but if you look closely, you can see that each propeller rotates in a different direction.
It was like a huge cosplay, with the structures on the ship acting as if they were in action.
It was absurd, as if the passengers on the train were deceiving themselves by shaking their bodies and pretending that the train was moving.
But this steel ark really began to move.
The banshee on the airship opened her eyes wide and looked at everything in front of her in confusion, unable to tell whether she was crazy or the world was crazy.
The sirens in the sea soaked in the water in a daze, watching the steel ark slowly moving forward through the waves, and for a moment they could not tell whether they were swimming in the Ocean of Storms or the Sea of Unconsciousness.
The reconnaissance airship that rose from the cathedral had just arrived. It stopped in the air after seeing this strange scene, then turned around and flew back to the church.
The silence throughout Castel was deafening.
The more you understand the principles of the ship, the more you can feel the indescribable nature of this steel ark. Its weirdness and madness seem to turn the rationality and knowledge in people's minds into red-hot needles, causing pain in their brains.
This steel ark is a complete attack on Castel. The people here have basically passed the advanced class and are familiar with the principles of the ship, so it's hard for them not to go crazy.
Of course, there are exceptions.
Like Gwen.
