Chapter 4 The Last Email

Ren Mingyue is two years older than Qin Shi, and they both graduated from the same school. They knew each other as early as when they were in school. However, at that time, Ren Mingyue was the school belle, while Qin Shi was just a silly little brother who watched silently from a distance and swallowed his saliva alone.

It was fate that when Qin Shi came to work at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, he met Ren Mingyue again, and the gap between their identities seemed to have been blurred a lot.

Ren Mingyue is in the Supervisory Group, while Qin Shi is in the General Office. But in terms of power and prestige, Qin Shi can't catch up even if he flatters her. But perhaps because there are fewer young people in the unit, the two get along quite well!

"What have you been busy with lately? I heard the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Finance came to cause trouble a few days ago."

"Hey, isn't it the Eagle Country that's causing all this trouble? They're saying one thing in public and doing another behind the scenes, raising the price and ripping us off!"

"That's right. If I get a chance to catch those American companies breaking the rules in China, I'll kill them!"

Qin Shi and Ren Mingyue were having dinner in a pretty good restaurant, but it was a public place after all, and both of them had signed confidentiality agreements due to the nature of their work, so some things could not be said, so they just kept it to themselves.

After dinner, Qin Shi accompanied Ren Mingyue for a walk. Tired after a day of work, he returned to his rental house and went to bed early.

In Kyoto, Qin Shi also wanted to buy a doghouse, but the reality was that he couldn't even afford a real doghouse. If it weren't for his identity in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which gave him a special license plate, he couldn't even drive a car on his own.

It was a beautiful Saturday, a great day for rest, but Qin Shi, who had memories of the destruction of China, still got up and insisted on going to the office.

This is the first thing I have to do after my rebirth, and I must do it well, otherwise my future life will become mediocre again. Even if I am willing, I am afraid it will be difficult to make any waves with my identity.

New emails continued to come in. Qi Tian sorted out the information while reviewing, clarifying and inquiring about it one by one. He replied to all the emails he could, but the huge workload still kept him busy.

"I still can't find it. Maybe I missed it? The signing meeting with the Eagle Sauce Country is about to start on Monday. Don't let me down!"

After a series of operations, Qin Shi got nothing in the end. He might have to explain it to Minister Tie. After working all day on Saturday, the disappointed Qin Shi began to panic.

Until Sunday morning, Qin Shi stayed up all night. Except for playing games all night in the Internet cafe when he was in school, Qin Shi had not stayed up all night for a long time. He just felt sore all over and his brain was working much slower.

"Qin Shi, you're not really going to be working overtime here all the time, are you?"

Ren Mingyue arrived at the office and saw Qin Shi with dark circles under his eyes. She was stunned. In this day and age, who would risk their lives for the sake of their bodies? Especially within the system, following the rules and standing on the right side was the way to success!

"It's almost done. The workload is a bit heavy. I must finish it today, otherwise I'm afraid I won't be able to hand it in tomorrow!" Qin Shi knew his own business.

"That's not possible. Take it easy. I'm going to do something and bring you food later!" Ren Mingyue shook her head and went to do her own thing.

Qin Shi continued to be busy. More than half an hour later, Ren Mingyue came over with breakfast and forced Qin Shi to stop his work and finish his breakfast.

That is Ren Mingyue. If Qin Shi had not seen that she has good looks, a good figure, infinite charm in her eyes and eyebrows, and graceful gestures, Qin Shi would not have rested!

"Why don't you get some sleep first? Don't worry about ruining your health. It's not worth it!"

"It's okay. I'm in good health and I have to finish the work before noon."

"Okay, I'll ask you to have lunch at noon, and you have to rest in the afternoon!"

After chatting with Ren Mingyue for a while, Qin Shi felt that his metabolism had returned to normal again, and he felt much more energetic and continued to work.

But all the work seemed to be in vain. When Qin Shi was almost done with his work, it was almost noon, but he still had not found the manufacturer that could produce arresting cables for aircraft carriers.

"Did I remember it wrongly? Or is my world different from this one?"

Three days of continuous work had made Qin Shi a little numb. As the time got closer to the end, Qin Shi knew that the result was already determined. He was just holding on to a glimmer of luck so that he could feel more relieved when he was heartbroken.

"How is it, is it done?" Ren Mingyue arrived as promised.

"I'm done. There's only one email left. I'll be off work after I reply!"

When it comes to getting off work, Qin Shifei doesn't feel any joy at all, but rather a little disappointed.

This matter ultimately failed. Was there something wrong with my memory, or was it that the world had changed? Was I really going to see the war engulfing my homeland again, just like in my previous life?

"Then I'll wait for you!"

Ren Mingyue sat directly across from Qin Shi and waited for Qin Shi to finish his work.

Qin Shi opened the last email, which was a clarification letter from a company called Jushi Rigging, asking whether the parameters on the bidding documents were correct. As far as we know, steel cables with such parameters are generally not used in China.

Seeing this beginning, Qin Shi subconsciously knew that this time he had completely failed. All manufacturers actually did not have the ability to produce aircraft carrier arresting cables. It seemed that he was really too reckless.

"Thank you for your inquiry. The purpose of the steel cable is confidential for the time being. Thank you for your participation. If you are interested, you can develop your own..."

Qin Shi was replying to emails subconsciously. He didn't know how many responses to this kind of questions he had received in the past two days.
