Chapter 113: Choosing a Pet

Although the other party said it with a smile, Zhang Wenyu could see the fear in his eyes and comforted him in a gentle tone.

"It's very cute, I like it very much, and I believe there must be many people who have the same idea as me."

The German Shepherd's owner became happy again after hearing this and pushed the German Shepherd towards Zhang Wenyu.

"Don't be fooled by its fierce appearance. It actually has a very good temper. It's just a whimpering monster. If you want to pet it, feel free to do so. It won't get angry."

As he spoke, he placed both hands on the German Shepherd's head and rubbed it.

The German Shepherd's big head was swaying from side to side as it was being rubbed, but its tail was wagging happily. It was laughing with its tongue sticking out and its mouth wide open, looking at its owner with sparkling eyes.

When the German Shepherd's owner let go of his hand, the German Shepherd had changed from a domineering, black-faced handsome man to a sloppy little dog.

The German Shepherd must have also felt the mess of its hair, and it stood there shaking its head and shaking its hair wildly.

In autumn, it is time for animals to grow their fur to prepare for the cold winter. As a long-haired dog, German Shepherds shed their fur all year round.

The fluffy hair flew everywhere and drilled into Zhang Wenyu's nostrils and mouth.

"Pooh! Pooh!"

The German Shepherd's owner was the first to be hit, and he kept spitting out the dog hair that flew into his mouth.

Zhang Wenyu covered his mouth and nose in time and squinted his eyes to prevent dog hair from flying into his eyes.

Finally, the dog hair was spit out and the German Shepherd owner looked at the culprit with a dark face.

Zhang Wenyu quickly waved to the German Shepherd, who was completely unaware and was even happily running around Zhang Wenyu and his owner, and called it to his side so that it would not continue to be hit by his owner's big beating.

He leaned over and touched the big head with shiny black hair.

"I heard you just call it Wang Lu Goose. Is that its name?"

Zhang Wenyu stroked the dog's head happily, looked up at the dog owner and asked.

The German Shepherd owner sat directly on the lawn.

"Yes! It's called Wang Lu Goose."

When the German Shepherd heard his name, he turned and looked at his owner in confusion.

The German Shepherd's owner reached out and pushed Big Black Face away, and told Zhang Wenyu the origin of the German Shepherd's name.

"My last name is Wang, and it's my last name. Not long after I brought it home from a friend's house, it secretly ate the braised goose I had placed on the table. A whole goose! It was bigger than its own body! It managed to stretch itself to the point of being hospitalized. I didn't spend much to buy it, but a single hospital stay cost me several months' salary. It's made me, who wasn't rich when I first started working, completely broke!"

"To commemorate the braised goose that my mother specially sent from my hometown, but I didn't get to eat a single bite and paid a heavy price for, I decided to change its name to Wang Braised Goose. Let it remember its mother's efforts."

Zhang Wenyu looked at the German Shepherd's owner with sympathy, and suddenly felt that the dog would not blame its owner for getting beaten up a few more times.

Every pet owner has a strong heart. They may talk about their pet's past mishaps with resentment, but they look at their pet with infinite love.

The German Shepherd owner shared some interesting stories about Wang Lu'e, which made Zhang Wenyu laugh so hard.

The German Shepherd owner asked casually.

"Do you have a furry kid too? Didn't you bring one here today?"

Zhang Wenyu said.

"I don't have one yet, but I heard there are some furry kids available for adoption here. I came to take a look today. If I find one I'm destined to be with, I'll take it home."

The German Shepherd's owner was a little surprised by Zhang Wenyu's idea.

She also encountered many wealthy people while walking their dogs. These people were very picky about the breed and pedigree of their pets. Although some would donate to support shelters, few would choose pets from shelters.

Most of the animals that need adoption here are raised in rescue stations. Many of them are either sick or disabled, or they are mixed-breed cats and dogs that rich people look down upon.

Just by looking at her clothes, you can tell that this girl comes from a wealthy family. She doesn't even choose cats and dogs with noble bloodlines and good looks that can participate in competitions, which are enough to show her social status. Instead, she chooses from unwanted rescued cats and dogs?

The owner of Wang Lu Goose looked at Zhang Wenyu and reminded him.

"Do you really want to choose from here? The furry kids here usually have some issues due to their past experiences. You probably won't find anything you're satisfied with."

Zhang Wenyu smiled indifferently.

"It's okay. I have a pet hospital and professional pet caregivers at home, so these things are not a problem for me. When I choose a furry child, I prioritize personal rapport. As long as we're compatible, I don't need to consider anything else."

The German Shepherd's owner looked at Zhang Wenyu deeply, then suddenly reached out and pulled Zhang Wenyu forward.

"I know a friend of mine has a few kittens and puppies that need adoption. I'll take you to see them. Maybe there's one you'd like."

Zhang Wenyu followed the German Shepherd owner to a colorful house.

The house was small and bare, with no furniture except for a table and a few chairs in the middle. A white railing surrounded the room, and inside were some chubby little kittens and puppies, all of them just one month old.

Several puppies were huddled together under the windowsill, sleeping and basking in the sun, while a few energetic ones were tearing at the tablecloths and chair cushions.

There are very few kittens still on the ground; most of them are lying on tables and chairs. There are no kittens on the cabinets against the wall. The cat and dog owner sitting on the recliner in front of the door said that it is because they are still small and can't climb up. After a while, they will be able to jump up.

Zhang Wenyu and the German Shepherd's owner looked at each other, then looked at the puppy sleeping on the ground and destroying the house next to them, and said in surprise.

"These puppies have very distinct personalities. Some are active, while others are quiet."

The boss on the recliner spoke without even opening his eyes.

"The ones sleeping are tired of destroying the house. See those rags at the door? They were my coat this morning. When they wake up, they're only slightly more lively than the ones gnawing on the table legs and ripping at the tablecloth."

Zhang Wenyu couldn't keep up with his boss's dry humor and didn't know what to say.

The German Shepherd owner spoke helplessly.

"Uncle Li, someone finally came to see it, how could you say that? At least tell me something good about it! Do you still want to sell it?"

The boss opened his eyes slightly, glanced at them, and spoke slowly.

"What's the problem? I put it out there, of course I have to sell it. There are so many mouths to feed, and if I don't sell it, are you going to feed it? Besides, I didn't lie, so I can't let people cheat just to sell it, right? If they go home and find that the goods are not what they ordered, they will still come to me for trouble!"

The German Shepherd's owner sighed and continued to advise.

"Then please at least say hello! The guests are here, you should at least get up from the recliner!"

The boss remained unmoved and covered his face with the large fan he used to fan himself. He spoke in an impatient tone.

"Aren't all the cats and dogs in there? There's nothing much to introduce, just look at them yourself. If you like one, go in and take it away. The prices are posted on the wall, so you can decide how much to pay!"

Zhang Wenyu was dumbfounded by the boss's management style.

After a self-guided tour, Zhang Wenyu became interested in a small black dog sleeping in the innermost corner. However, the dog was sleeping soundly and could not be woken up no matter how much he called.

Sui Min happened to come over, and Zhang Wenyu had to give up temporarily.
