Zhuang Tong is a British-style butler, a graduate of the British Butler College. Though nearly fifty, he maintains a straight back. His black tuxedo makes him look like an elderly gentleman.
As an outstanding graduate of a well-established butler school, Zhuang Tong has been sought after by major hotels, airlines, and wealthy families since leaving the academy.
The employers he had worked for were either wealthy or noble, but few of them could afford such a large estate as their residence. Moreover, its owner was only a young girl.
He immediately bowed more respectfully and replied to Zhang Wenyu.
"Okay miss, I will arrange things at home so you can move in when you return. Do you need me to arrange your travel plans and wedding gifts?"
Life is good when you're rich; everything is arranged for you. Having just become wealthy, Zhang Wenyu struggles to adapt every day.
But she already had a gift in mind. The salesgirl at the mall had been inviting her to brand events, and she planned to pick out a bag as a gift.
"No, I can just pick one out when I go shopping."
"Yes, miss."
Zhuang Tong didn't insist, and after seeing Zhang Wenyu off, he began to inspect his future workplace, looking for any areas that needed repairing.
Although the employer was young, he didn't seem easy to fool. He had a good temper and was generous. Zhuang Tong also hoped to leave a good impression on him.
Zhang Wenyu, who had returned to the hotel, was talking to Anru on the phone about going shopping together tomorrow.
Although they were both in S City, their meetings were always rushed. Either Zhang Wenyu or An Ru had something else to do. This time, they finally had some free time and decided to have a good day.
After washing up, Zhang Wenyu lay on the sofa and discussed tomorrow's schedule with An Ruo.
"Tomorrow I plan to buy a bag first and then get a manicure."
"Okay, I want to buy a bag too. After that, let's go get a full body treatment. Call the manicurist over and do my nails while I'm at it."
An Ruo's voice rang out on the phone. Zhang Wenyu turned over on the sofa, picked up a plate of fruit next to him, and ate while chatting.
"Do you still remember my roommate? The one who often came to our club to see me. She's getting married, and I bought her a bag as a wedding gift."
An Ruo also thought back to her college days. Back then, her club was organizing volunteer activities, and every day was busy. She and Zhang Wenyu had become quite familiar with each other, often participating together. Sometimes they finished work late, returning home in the evening. Every time this happened, a short classmate with a round face and almond-shaped eyes would come and pick up Zhang Wenyu.
At the time, they jokingly called Zhang Wenyu a "raised daughter." Unexpectedly, just one year after graduation, the girl was getting married.
"I remember, we had dinner together back then. I think you mentioned that she was a year younger than us, so why did she get married so soon? Didn't she say in school that her family didn't allow her to have a relationship?"
Zhang Wenyu never saw this roommate again after graduation, but the two had a good relationship when they were in school. Even after graduation, they often contacted each other to talk about their recent situation.
When Zhang Wenyu just graduated and refused to return home, but couldn't find a job, it was this roommate who gave her 1,000 yuan to keep her going. It wasn't until her parents relented and started giving her living expenses again that she finally returned the 1,000 yuan. Zhang Wenyu has always been grateful to her.
"She said her family introduced her to her. Our families live not far from each other, so they know each other well. They started dating after graduation and got engaged during the Chinese New Year. They're getting married next week. I went there two days early to be her bridesmaid."
An Ruo felt a little emotional as she listened. Time flies. In their circle, people generally marry late. It's normal to get married in your thirties.
But when they thought about their college classmates, many of them had already started families. The two of them reminisced about the past and talked until late at night.
The next day, Zhang Wenyu set out early. When she arrived at the mall, An Ruo had not arrived yet, so she thought of shopping for cosmetics first and waiting for her.
The sales clerks and saleswomen at the counter are cleaning and arranging the shelves.
Zhang Wenyu doesn’t have many cosmetics because she didn’t have money to buy them before. Now that she has bought them, she realizes that she doesn’t recognize many of them and doesn’t know how to use them. Putting on makeup is really not a simple thing.
Zhang Wenyu walked towards a counter that was already prepared, intending to ask the salesgirl for advice.
The salesgirl looked young and fresh-faced. She nervously snapped her fingers when she saw a customer approaching. She must be a college student working part-time during the summer vacation.
"Welcome, welcome."
Tang Xinyi finished her welcome speech haltingly, and tried hard to recall the words the teacher had said during the training.
What should I say now? Introduce the product? No, no. Should I introduce the brand? Or should I first ask the customer what they want to buy?
Damn it, I forgot everything!
Oh, I was so unlucky. I met an unreliable instructor on my first day at work. No one showed up after the morning meeting.
No matter what, smile first. Yes! Serve with a smile. Look the other person in the eye and be confident.
At the front of the counter are rows of lipsticks, with foundations and cushions on the left, as well as eyeshadows, blushes, contouring products, and more.
Zhang Wenyu walked to the counter and saw the dazzling array of cosmetics. She couldn't tell which one was suitable for her.
“Hello, can you recommend a product that’s suitable for me?”
Tang Xinyi breathed a sigh of relief when she heard the customer's question.
Just ask, and she will know what to do.
She looked up at Zhang Wenyu again, and began to introduce the foundation starting from the one closest to Zhang Wenyu.
"Ma'am, would you like to try our most popular liquid foundation? It's infused with multiple skin-nourishing ingredients. The powder is fine and smooth, and it applies like cream, for a very natural finish. If you're not in a hurry, would you like to try it on your face?"
Tang Xinyi was particularly attentive when facing the first customer in her career, hoping to provide the other party with the best service.
Zhang Wenyu looked at the other party's expectant expression and couldn't bear to refuse.
"Okay, let's try it. You can also introduce me to other products."
Tang Xinyi was delighted, thinking that this was the beginning of a big deal. She turned out to be a rich young lady, no wonder her skin was so good.
Oddly enough, Zhang Wenyu's skin was terrible when she was working. It was oily in the summer, flaky in the winter, and she'd get acne at random times of the year. She'd seen doctors and tried online acne treatment tutorials, but nothing worked.
But since I quit my job after getting rich, my skin has been getting better day by day. Not only have my acne and dark circles disappeared, but even my pores are smaller than when I was working.
Although Tang Xinyi was not very experienced in sales, she was very quick at putting on makeup. She could complete a full makeup look in less than 20 minutes.
"Ms. Zhang, the painting is finished. Do you like it?"
As he said this, he placed the makeup mirror in front of Zhang Wenyu.
Zhang Wenyu looked at her face in the mirror. Her features were still her own, but they looked better than the ones she had painted herself. Her eyes seemed bigger and brighter, and her nose seemed more three-dimensional.
