Chapter 103 First Dungeon Draw

"What are you thinking about?" Xia Chuhe asked.

"I want to give you a gift," Lu Dangui replied.

"What a coincidence, I also have something to give you."

"Wait until I get it from my room."

Lu Dangui floated into the room, and soon came out carrying a small black dog with a red rope tied around its neck in a bow.

Xia Chuhe was taken aback.

Lu Dangui said, "I've seen people pack gifts like this before."

"You're going to give this to me?" Xia Chuhe asked in surprise. The gift she had prepared was...

Dog leashes and collars...

Lu Dangui nodded: "I can't raise it well, you can raise it."

"You can raise it, I'll teach you how."

Xia Chuhe shoved the dog leash and collar into Lu Dangui's hands: "Here, you can have its name engraved on the collar. Does it have a name yet?"

When Lu Dangui heard Xia Chuhe refuse, he did not insist.

"I've thought about it, but I haven't decided yet," Lu Dangui said. "I've looked through a lot of things and saw that the dog's previous names were all things like Tuantuan, Yuanyuan, Baozi, and Mantou. I think we could call it Cake."

Lu Dangui asked, "What's your puppy's name?"

Xia Chuhe released his dog from the farm: "Big Yellow".

Big Yellow, wearing a collar, wagged its tail majestically.

"Oh." Lu Dangui untied the red ribbon bow. "Let's call him Little Black!"

Little Black circled around Big Yellow, its little nose twitching.

The two dogs don't seem like much on their own. But when put together, the yellow one is almost twice the size of the black one.

Lu Dangui said somewhat dejectedly, "I can't raise it well."

Xia Chuhe touched his nose guiltily.

On the farm, Dahuang would steal the chickens' and ducks' feed every day, and was often chased by them, jumping up and down, howling and crying.

Eating well and exercising a lot doesn't guarantee a strong and healthy physique.

Xia Chuhe gave Lu Danggui some feed, canned food, and eggs: "When feeding him nutritional supplements, mix in some of these things to ensure a balanced diet. In a few days, the first batch of roosters will be ready for market, and these two will be in for a treat."

"Also, you should take it for walks often, let it run around and move around more..."

Xia Chuhe's family had only ever raised local dogs, so they lacked knowledge and experience. They only shared some common sense with Lu Danggui.

Lu Danggui, a model student, took notes diligently and nodded obediently.

Lu Dangui said, "I still have questions."

"you say."

"Why don't you ask me to teach you fighting? I, I, I'm really good at fighting too."

Xia Chuhe thought she was going to ask about raising a puppy, but she didn't expect this.

Xia Chuhe stammered, he couldn't very well say that he was afraid of her, afraid that she would train him to leave, could he?

Xia Chuhe pointed to the small iron rod that Lu Dangui had tucked into his hair: "I think your best skill is this, a hidden weapon. I can't learn it; I even have trouble aiming with a gun. Xin Diao uses his fists to fight, which seems easier to learn."

Lu Dangui nodded thoughtfully: "Indeed, in terms of brute strength, I am no match for her."

Xia Chuhe breathed a sigh of relief; the situation had been smoothed over!

I'm so sorry, Boss Xin!

Xia Chuhe put Dahuang and Xiaohei in the yard to play, staring at the yellow sand in a daze.

We are very grateful to Li Yue for her help in rescuing Bao'er this time.

Xia Chuhe collected some chicken, duck, and goose eggs and headed to Sister Li's food shop. These egg products had become a regular transaction between the two.

Upon arriving at the food store, Xia Chuhe noticed something different about it.

After thinking about it carefully, I realized that there was something extra on the table in the hall—a somewhat wilted sunflower.

Xia Chuhe: ...

Isn't this the flower she gave to the housekeeper?

How did it end up on the food store's table?

Li Yue happily took the egg from Xia Chuhe's hand: "So, did you catch any bees?"

"No, he's dead," Xia Chuhe replied casually.

"Oh, that's a pity." Li Yue gestured with her chin towards the sunflower. "Does it look nice? It makes the whole shop seem brighter."

Xia Chuhe praised with difficulty, "It looks good."

A bunch of sunflowers tumbled out of the farm with a clatter.

Xia Chuhe: "Would you believe me if I said I didn't do it on purpose?"

"Believe it, believe it, believe it." Li Yue pouted. "I knew it. Old Guan got it from you. When I asked him where it came from, he was being all mysterious and wouldn't tell me."

Xia Chuhe smiled and said, "Help me check if there's any food inside."

Li Yue didn't even look at it: "No."

Xia Chuhe grabbed a handful of sunflowers: "You like them? I'll give them to you?"

Li Yue beamed and hurried into the kitchen to find a large bottle and a pair of large scissors. She cut the sunflowers to different lengths and placed them in the bottle.

A large bottle of sunflower seeds replaced a single sunflower.

Li Yue took a single sunflower into the kitchen and displayed it separately.

Xia Chuhe sorted the remaining sunflowers, leaving the prettiest ones for Lu Danggui, Li Qiusheng, Boss Xin, and Sister Diao, and displayed them at home.

The slightly less potent sunflower seeds are for Du Zhen to give to the kitten; sunflowers are non-toxic to kittens. I wonder if the little calico kitten will like them.

The last few are for 02; maybe 02 would like to display them in the store. Bao'er can also take a look at them a few times.

Xia Chuhe shook his head. The children in the wasteland were pitiful. After a few years of schooling, they had to follow the base's arrangements to work, or risk their lives to earn money for their families. They rarely had the chance to tend to flowers, plants, or animals.

Xia Chuhe finished sorting the sunflowers and thought that in a little over a month, the rabbits would be able to mate. Then, in about a month, they would have a bunch of baby rabbits. Baby rabbits grow quickly, so she would give Bao'er two of them and see if she wanted to raise them.

After visiting his friend and practicing a few moves with Boss Xin, Xia Chuhe returned home in a cheerful mood.

After directing Li Qiusheng and Lu Dangui to arrange the sunflowers, Xia Chuhe slumped onto the sofa.
