Li Qiusheng glanced at the setting sun and ran towards the amusement park.
We must get there before sunset...
On the way to the amusement park, Li Qiusheng met the person who had promised to praise them in front of the guides that morning.
Li Qiusheng stopped, his eyes filled with anticipation: "Are you going to give us feedback to the guide?"
The man smiled gently: "What evaluation? I don't know."
“I helped you pick a lot of walnuts. You said you would help each other.” Li Qiusheng tried his best to help her recall.
"Oh, I think that's what happened. Thank you so much. Do you need any help now?"
“Yes, I need you to go to the guide and give our team a positive evaluation.” Li Qiusheng repeated again, speaking slowly and deliberately to avoid being unclear.
"Okay," the man replied and continued walking.
Li Qiusheng stared at her back; she was heading towards the beach, while the guide was at the entrance of the main hall.
Li Qiusheng had a splitting headache, a heavy tearing sensation constantly pulling at her. She wanted to drag that person over and beat him up, but she couldn't help wanting to live in harmony with the islanders.
This feeling of being torn apart only disappeared when Li Qiusheng could no longer see the person's back.
The sun grew heavier and heavier, sinking into the western sky, seemingly about to set at any moment.
Li Qiusheng pounded his head and ran towards the amusement park.
Xin Diao was playing with Lu Danggui.
Or rather, Xin Diao was playing with Angelica sinensis.
Xin Diao stretched her index finger out in front of Lu Dangui, who chased after it, howling and trying to bite it. Unfortunately, Lu Dangui was tied up and not very agile, so she only managed to graze her finger with her teeth each time.
Xia Chuhe watched from the sidelines, sometimes cheering Lu Danggui on, sometimes worrying about Xin Diao.
"Boss Xin! Help!" Li Qiusheng shouted.
Xin Diao turned around, and before he knew it, Lu Danggui bit him.
Lu Danggui was tricked all afternoon. After biting into empty air several times, her teeth hurt from the impact, and she reduced the force of her bites afterward.
Caught off guard, Lu Dangui bit Xin Diao without reacting in time. By the time she tried to bite hard, Xin Diao had already pulled her finger away.
Li Qiusheng didn't notice the three's little game and explained the flaws in the task in a few words.
As it grew late, the bird enthusiasts left the amusement park in twos and threes.
Xin Diao stood up: "Keep an eye on the two of them."
She pulled a rope and a dagger from her tactical pouch and grabbed the nearest birdman: "Give me your hand."
The man, puzzled, asked, "What's wrong? Do you need help?"
Xin Diao tightly bound his hands.
"Don't do that, I'm not feeling well," the man said.
"I feel uncomfortable, but I'll bear with it," Xin Diao replied.
The man continued to protest, but Xin Diao brandished a dagger at his face: "If you keep arguing, I'll give you a stab."
The man dared not speak.
Most of the time, force is more effective than reason.
Xin Diao proved this once again.
Although the islanders realized the danger posed by Xin Diao and wanted to escape, their physical strength was inferior to that of ordinary people.
On the ground, the round, chubby little birds hopped around. They were terrified, yet they couldn't fly.
A moment later, Xin Diao arrived in front of Li Qiusheng, leading a string of people and carrying a string of chirping birds.
"Let's go and complete your mission." Xin Diao shook the string of birds in her hand, and the chirping subsided for a moment.
...
To avoid being caught by the guide, Xin Diao only took the people halfway. She handed the human and bird strings to Li Qiusheng: "Kill them if they don't behave."
"Isn't that inappropriate?" Li Qiusheng laughed awkwardly.
Xin Diao brandished her dagger at her; when she got ruthless, she even threatened her own people.
The obedient Li Qiusheng immediately became honest: "Okay, Boss Xin, I also have a dagger."
Li Qiusheng, armed with a dagger, escorted a string of people and carried a string of birds to the guide.
No one spoke, not even a bird spoke.
Li Qiusheng looked behind him, searching for Xin Diao's figure, but unfortunately Xin Diao had already hidden away.
Li Qiusheng feigned ruthlessness: "Praise me."
The person she threatened scoffed, determined not to yield.
Following Xin Diao's instructions, Li Qiusheng plunged a knife into the islander's stomach: "Bragging."
No one expected her to actually do it; not only the islanders, but even the guides didn't have time to stop her.
Seeing this, the others quickly changed their tune, showering him with compliments. In just a few breaths, Li Qiusheng had completed the task assigned by the guide for the day.
With a stern face, the guide snatched the bird string from Li Qiusheng's hand, took the injured islander, and squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth: "I wish you sweet dreams tonight."
Li Qiusheng smiled brightly: "Thank you."
...
Before nightfall, the group met again at the entrance of the amusement park.
Du Zhen and 03 went to the beach but found no further clues. However, unlike Xia Chuhe and his group, what they saw was more direct and realistic—the Black Sea, a sea monster, unusual waves…
Only those who have not received divine protection can see the true nature of Bird Island.
Diao Jie was still hiding in Xia Chuhe's farm and hadn't come out. Xin Diao repeatedly lifted Xia Chuhe's wrist and then let go, dozens of times, but still couldn't find where Diao Jie was hiding.
Just as Xin Diao was so annoyed she almost broke her watch strap, Sister Diao came out on her own initiative. She also casually brought out a little monkey.
Sister Diao covered her mouth and yawned: "Didn't you say that the timing of getting infected might be during the morning blessing? If I bring this little monkey out, maybe it can see it more clearly."
After dropping off the baby monkey, Sister Diao went back to the farm to sleep. Xin Diao, carrying the baby monkey, was extremely annoyed.
After discussing it, the group decided to let the little monkey stay in the main hall with Li Qiusheng and the others so that they could discover anything unusual in the morning.
Xia Chuhe remained dazed and confused, and the group suddenly felt as if the team had lost its leader, and they were quite worried about what was going to happen next.
Fortunately, the main hall grants people a good night's sleep, and the few who entered the hall fell into a deep sleep, naturally without having to worry about anything else.
The newcomers, Xin Diao and his companions, were not so lucky.
A sea monster comes ashore, bird corpses come back to life, and human heads leap out of the amusement park, thus beginning a chase between vastly unequal forces.
