As dusk fell, the group decided to return to the restaurant first and then make further plans.
Although Xia Chuhe and Li Yue failed their mission and lost 100 energy points, the other four people succeeded and gained 400 energy points. After adding and subtracting, they ended up with 300 extra energy points.
Including the money obtained from robbery and business, the total energy value is over 500, and each person can get 80 or 90.
Since we were ordered to close for a day, I thought I'd take the opportunity to check out how other shops were doing.
Xia Chuhe's main focus was on the shop next door, "This Life Is Dead," because this shop opened by occupying half of the dining area of the "Flesh and Blood Restaurant"!
Thinking of this, Xia Chuhe and the others felt extremely depressed.
At night, Fugui Street is brightly lit and bustling with diners.
The group of six swaggered into the restaurant, wanting to act like diners since they had a little money in their pockets.
Once inside, the group realized that the interior of the store looked different from the exterior.
The exterior decoration only occupies a small doorway, but the interior space is connected to the shop next door. The dining area lost by the Blood and Flesh Restaurant is only a part of the already dead machine.
The six people looked distinctly different from the other diners. The waitress hesitated for a moment before approaching them. Instead of guiding them to their seats, she asked them what their purpose was.
Xia Chuhe glanced at the first customer who had come to the Flesh and Blood Restaurant last night and was leaning against the counter, talking animatedly.
Disgusted by its smug expression, Xia Chuhe gave the others a wink, and the group chose a spot close to the counter to eavesdrop.
The waiter didn't stop them.
A customer was bragging to the manager: "All you know is how to spend money to buy land, that costs so much, you really don't know how to do business! Look at this piece of land I prepared, it only cost 5 energy points!"
The shop manager, who had been writing and calculating at the counter, froze for a moment before slowly saying, "I understand, boss. How should this be recorded?"
“By recording the price at the normal rate, we increase costs and pay less tax.”
"Oh, then I'll write down 5000?" the store manager confirmed.
Li Qiusheng instantly exploded, cursing its grandfather and its ancestors for eighteen generations!
fed up!
Li Qiusheng rushed forward and delivered a solid punch to the diner.
Xia Chuhe raised her hand halfway to stop someone, then lowered it; she also wanted to hit someone. Six against one, shouldn't be a problem, right?
Diners yelled, "Food safety regulations! Food safety regulations! Someone's causing trouble!"
That annoying book suddenly jumped out and wobbled, saying, "Get out!"
A giant broom appeared out of thin air, sweeping only at the six people, not at anyone else. With a single movement of the broom, a powerful gust of wind blew them back a step.
Xia Chuhe shouted, "We're here to spend money, we have money, order! Order!"
The diner said smugly, "A bunch of lousy laborers trying to pretend to be customers, get out!"
The food law showed no mercy to the six people, sweeping them out like leaves in the wind.
The group couldn't understand what "stinky laborer" meant. Did having money mean one couldn't be a consumer?
Xia Chuhe quickly divided the six people into two groups and sent them to other stores to try making purchases.
After visiting several stores, Xia Chuhe and Lu Danggui returned empty-handed without finding a single clue.
Fortunately, Li Yue and Bu Yi have made some progress.
Perhaps because of Li Yue's status as a shop owner, one of the shop's employees was quite polite to her.
Li Yue said, "Do you still remember our profession?"
"What profession? A cleaner?" Li Qiusheng scratched his head.
“Yes, the waitress was very vague. She said that whatever profession we were in indicated what level of people we were,” Li Yue slowly analyzed. “What she meant was that even if we were outside the Flesh and Blood Restaurant, people would know our profession and treat us as ordinary workers.”
Occupational classification is like putting a shell on someone; people only recognize the shell, not the person.
The most typical example is that some shopping malls prohibit delivery drivers from entering. When a delivery driver in uniform tries to enter to make a purchase, others still mistake them for a delivery driver on duty. Only by taking off their uniform can a delivery driver be recognized as a customer.
To become a diner, the first step is to "take off that outfit".
In the dungeon world, it means quitting your job and getting rid of the identity of a wage earner.
Xia Chuhe tilted his head: "Manager, shall I resign?"
Li Yue smiled and said, "Approved."
However, even after going through this process, other shops still did not recognize Xia Chuhe's identity.
Bu Yi pulled out the Zone 1 pass that he had long forgotten and tentatively asked, "We initially obtained our identities from this pass. If we destroy this piece of paper, our professional identities will also be destroyed, right?"
"But losing the pass might also mean being kicked out of Zone 1?" Li Qiusheng's concerns were not without merit.
Li Yue took out the pass and tore it open casually: "Try it and you'll see!"
Even back in the nursing home, Li Yue had already resolved to die and taken a detached view of life and death. If her life could prove the right path, then sacrifice would become a blessing.
She moved so fast that Xia Chuhe didn't even have a chance to stop her.
From her initial honesty upon entering the instance to her repeated efforts to help everyone survive, and her constant role as a stepping stone...
Xia Chuhe didn't know how to handle his relationship with her.
Xia Chuhe finds it hard to forgive a betrayer. But she can't bring herself to harden her heart when it comes to Li Yue's sincerity.
Even after experiencing life and death in the wasteland and undergoing nearly half a year of trials, she was still an ordinary person and could not be decisive in killing.
The rest of the team was also stunned by Li Yue's move. Li Qiusheng, who was completely out of it, gave Li Yue a thumbs up: "You've got guts! My new sister!"
Li Yue was amused by her: "Silly little sister~ You seem to be fine."
Xia Chuhe composed himself. He could deal with Li Yue's matter after they left the dungeon; as long as she was on the team's side for now, that was enough.
Xia Chuhe looked down at his Zone 1 pass: "Something's wrong. My position has changed. I'm the store manager now."
Li Yue said, "Don't tear up the passes yet, I'll go scout the way for you."
While ostensibly scouting the area, Li Yue actually went into the store alone first to gauge the manager's and staff's attitude. The others remained outside, keeping a close eye on the store's movements, just in case.
The scouting trip didn't go well, and Li Yue quickly came out of the store—a speed that was definitely not what a customer who had ordered food should have.
Sure enough, Li Yue shook her head and sighed, "No, they still don't accept me as a customer."
Li Yue frowned: "They said that I have no contract, no connection with this world, and therefore they cannot provide me with services."
Before the group could ask any questions, two "old friends" appeared out of nowhere.
Two dark figures, one fat and one thin, squeezed together beside Li Yue, exuding enthusiasm.
"Want to buy something?"
There's a discount!
"Lots of great stuff!"
"Excellent value for money!"
"You won't regret buying it!"
"You won't be fooled!"
Li Yue glanced at the expressions on everyone's faces. They were all curious. She asked, "What is it?"
"Let me show you!"
Two dark figures, one on each side, carried Li Yue, flying faster than the wind.
