Chapter 213 Dividing the Territory

The two groups of attackers immediately stopped arguing. More than twenty people formed a circle with their backs to Xia Chuhe and the others, looking warily at the dust and smoke rising from the ground.

Taking advantage of the crowd's distraction, Xia Chuhe quietly broke free of his ropes and then cut them for everyone else. Although they were now free, they wanted to see who had come, so they all pretended to be prisoners and remained silent.

The dust billowed all the way to the crowd, and it took a while to dissipate, revealing familiar or unfamiliar faces covered in dust.

The people coming from the trading area were, needless to say, Weng Xintian and his group.

Near the Cape Trading Market, one of the people leading the group was Ah Bao, who had brought many strangers. Wang Yan explained to the group in a low voice, "They look like members of the Holy Fire Meow Meow Legion; I recognize a few of their faces."

The other two groups were completely unfamiliar.

The surrounded attackers were not fools. One team immediately tried to take Xia Chuhe and Lu Dangui away, while the second team headed straight for Zhuguan Mountain.

Having spent many years in the wasteland, Weng Xintian quickly analyzed the situation and shouted, "Go! Capture them alive, or at least don't let them escape!"

The team leader whispered to the man carrying Xia Chuhe, "Gao Qiang, you take them and go first. Brothers, we'll hold them off!"

Gao Qiang gave a heavy "hmm," stomped his foot, and raised two long and tall sand walls, forcefully clearing a path through the crowd.

Gao Qiang picked up Xia Chuhe and Lu Dangui, and between the two sand walls, as if he possessed a magic spell to shrink the distance, he took a step and went a hundred meters away, leaving the battlefield behind in a moment.

Ah Bao's eyes widened in fury, and he shouted without regard for anything else, "Kill them!"

She uttered those words, then transformed into a leopard and chased after the sand wall.

In an instant, a chaotic battle ensued, with ice and fire flying everywhere, guns firing, and the clang of metal echoing throughout the air.

The fact that the two groups of strangers didn't make a move was already a huge help to the trading market and the Meow Meow Legion. A hundred against twenty, and they won the battle with lightning speed.

The twenty-odd people from the upper echelons were quite courageous, fighting to the death and inflicting numerous wounds on the trading market and the Meow Meow Legion. In the end, none of the twenty-odd people survived.

Ignoring the battlefield casualties, Weng Xintian frowned and stared in the direction where Xia Chuhe and Lu Dangui had been abducted. Their fates today were being kept secret; Weng Xintian felt like he was solving a complex science problem missing crucial data, unable to deduce the final outcome no matter what he tried.

His superpower actually failed.

After cleaning up the battlefield, the people from the trading post dragged Zhu Guanshan over to report: "Boss, we dug this person out of the ground. What should we do with him?"

Zhu Guanshan shouted, "I'm in cahoots with you! Let me go!"

Weng Xintian waved his hand impatiently: "Shut up, we'll talk about it when Boss Xia comes back."

With her mouth covered, Zhu Guanshan sobbed, as if she had something left to say. Unfortunately, she had been a prisoner in the trading market, and the people there wouldn't give her any face.

Back at the Meow Meow Legion, Leopard quickly returned, his leopard-cat face full of frustration as he approached Weng Xintian: "We didn't catch up."

"I'll send a few more people over to check. They should be alright. Good people are always protected by heaven." While comforting A-Bao, Weng Xintian wondered in his mind if the Meow Meow Legion had any bigger leopard cats, and if he could get one for his eldest sister to ride.

Leopard leaped up and slashed at Weng Xintian with its claws, nearly tearing his combat uniform to shreds. Leopard said disdainfully, "Don't look at me like that, I don't like it."

Weng Xintian silently turned his face away: "..."

At this very moment, inside the sand wall.

Xia Chuhe and Lu Dangui were half-dragged on the ground. They looked at each other and then suddenly launched a counterattack.

After all the weapons on Lu Dangui's body were taken, he could only grab Gao Qiang's wrist with his back hand, roll up his waist and abdomen, and twist his legs around Gao Qiang's neck.

Gao Qiang had not expected that the ropes binding the two of them had already been untied. In a panic, he immediately dropped Xia Chuhe and used his other arm to block Lu Dangui's legs.

He had just caught Lu Dangui's leg when flames suddenly erupted from beneath his feet. Gao Qiang quickened his pace, trying to shake off the flames, but they clung to his feet like worms that had been crushed.

Lu Dangui and Xia Chuhe attacked from both sides. Gao Qiang's fists were no match for four hands. As soon as he relaxed his strength, Lu Dangui immediately used his legs to break Gao Qiang's neck.

Gao Qiang staggered a few steps and collapsed to the ground, while Lu Dangui rolled around on the ground a few times as well.

When Xia Chuhe caught up, Lu Dangui was brushing off the small flames that had gotten on her body.

Seeing that she was unharmed, Xia Chuhe leaned down to check Gao Qiang's breathing: "It's a pity that no one was left alive. I hope Weng Xintian can leave one alive."

Lu Dangui said in a low voice, "We can't keep him here."

Gao Qiang's special abilities are unique; if Lu Dangui loosens his grip, he can escape immediately.

Lu Dangui added, "I'm sorry, we were too careless."

Xia Chuhe was stunned for a moment before realizing that Lu Dangui was referring to the fact that they hadn't kept a close watch on the outside and had all been captured.

Xia Chuhe comforted her, "It has nothing to do with you. There were too many of them, and they were prepared in advance..."

As soon as he said this, Xia Chuhe realized something was wrong: "Putting aside the reason why the higher-ups have been chasing me repeatedly, how did they know my coordinates?"

Lu Dangui kept his head down and remained silent.

"Could it be Zhuguanshan...?"

As Xia Chuhe spoke, she immediately shook her head, denying her own idea. Zhu Guanshan was also being watched by higher-ups, likely because he wasn't on their side. She then asked, "What's Zhu Guanshan like?"

After a moment's consideration, Lu Dangui gave a two-word evaluation: "Trustworthy."

Xia Chuhe nodded, then searched Gao Qiang's body, finding two short daggers and several vials of nutrient solution. She packed the items into the farm: "Let's go back, so they won't worry."
