Xia Chuhe took the initiative to go on stage.
She's figured it out: as long as she doesn't cause trouble, there's nothing life-threatening in the challenges so far. If she gets injured, a girl will help treat her. If audience members cause trouble, they'll be controlled by the laughing puppet.
So feel free to make the audience laugh.
Through the previous two performances, Xia Chuhe summarized a clear pattern—audiences like to see performers get injured or make fools of themselves.
Xia Chuhe didn't want to please the audience by getting injured; she had to find another way.
Just as humans can't help but laugh when they see a kitten walking on a high platform, only to slip and fall into a pool, she wants to be that "cat," using comical accidents to amuse the audience.
Xia Chuhe took to the stage with balloons, feeling somewhat regretful that she hadn't seen enough mime in modern times, so she didn't know how to perform properly.
The balloon was behaving itself and didn't move around.
Xia Chuhe used his limited skills to twist the balloon left and right, turning it into a little dog.
Xia Chuhe shook the balloon, silently opened his mouth, and pretended to bark.
The audience stared at her indifferently, without reacting.
Suddenly, the balloon dog seemed to come alive, turning its head and biting Xia Chuhe. Sharp teeth, seemingly growing from nowhere on the round balloon skin, drew blood from Xia Chuhe's hand in one bite. Veins hidden inside the balloon quietly grew out, connecting to the wound on the back of Xia Chuhe's hand, stealing blood from her body.
Xia Chuhe released the balloon and shook it violently, trying to get rid of it.
The balloon puppy whimpered, its round tail wagging happily, and it bit even harder.
The audience below the stage laughed, and the decibel meter emitted a faint yellow light.
Standing on the stage, Xia Chuhe could see the huge figure on the backdrop more clearly. It was indeed a woman, a peaceful woman with her eyes closed, as if she were asleep or already dead.
It's so hard to make all the audience laugh, it's really so hard.
To please the audience and set the decibel meter to its maximum, what will happen next? And what does it have to do with the woman on the sky?
What will happen if Lai Chau-sang fails to please the audience in his final performance?
Xia Chuhe closed his eyes and fell straight to the ground.
Whispers arose from the audience.
"Huh?" asked the girl standing by the stage, puzzled. "Is it broken?"
The balloon puppy blankly released its grip, circled around Xia Chuhe, and nudged her with its newly grown red nose.
Just as the girl approached, Xia Chuhe flipped over, grabbed the dog's tail, and flung it at the audience in the first row.
Several audience members reached out to catch the puppy, but it suddenly fell to the ground in mid-air and struggled to turn back into a cylindrical balloon.
The smiling mascot stepped off the stage and picked up the puppy.
I see.
The audience wants props, even just a part of them.
The girl huffed, "You're a terrible performer! I hate you! I'm not healing your wounds anymore. Get off the stage now! Hopefully, the last performer will bring us a surprise. Please welcome the shadow puppet master with applause!"
Xia Chuhe stepped backstage, and as she passed the curtain, she asked the girl a question: "What is your relationship with the people in heaven?"
After asking the question, she, like Mo Yun, began to bleed from all seven orifices.
Xia Chuhe wrote down his repentance again—he shouldn't have chased the kitten all over the house just to see its paws slip.
The fourth time, the repentance took effect very slowly, but the bleeding still stopped.
The girl smiled innocently: "She's my older sister!"
Xia Chuhe went backstage, and Li Qiusheng went on stage to perform.
Behind the scenes, Da Shan lay on the bed, while Mo Yun crossed his legs; both were recovering from their injuries. Xia Chuhe's wounds weren't obvious, but his face was deathly pale, clearly indicating excessive blood loss.
Xia Chuhe took some food and water from the farm and silently shared them with Dashan and Moyun to replenish their energy and help their wounds heal.
Laughter occasionally drifted from outside the curtain, but the volume was very low.
While praying that Li Qiusheng would not get hurt, Xia Chuhe sorted through the clues she had gathered so far, especially the relationship the girl mentioned at the end—sisters.
Coincidentally, in the entire land of energy rules, another pair of sisters repeatedly appeared before Xia Chuhe—Dashan and her younger sister, whom she often mentioned.
Such a coincidence inevitably made Xia Chuhe think of some terrible things.
However, for the third level alone, it had no effect on Dashan and her sister.
The audience's identities, the purpose of the props, the relationship between the two sisters...
Ah, what a cruel stage!
Xia Chuhe lowered her eyes to rest. She had found a way to truly please the audience, but it was a little difficult to implement. She hoped that the level designers would be kind.
Xia Chuhe didn't have to wait long before Li Qiusheng, dressed in tattered clothes, walked over.
Needless to say, she also failed to achieve her goal of pleasing the audience.
On stage, the girl continued to chatter: "It's a pity that the performers didn't make everyone happy, but it's okay, let them rest for a bit, and the performance will continue later. I will prepare new props for them."
Mo Yun's mentality collapsed.
Why are they still performing?!
Does that mean the four of them have to stay here and perform indefinitely if the audience is unhappy?!
It will rot!
No, he wants to go out.
Mo Yun crawled out using both hands and feet, wanting to repent on the curtain and repent to enter the realm of rules.
Before he could climb out, Xia Chuhe grabbed his ankle and pulled him back.
Mo Yun wanted to cry but had no tears.
He saw determination in Xia Chuhe's eyes, and he thought, this strong woman will not give up.
The poor, weak, helpless, and mute boy had to suffer along with them.
