On that day, Zhao Yu handed over a total of nine bottles of slime and obtained three mini blue pieces.
Li Feng and Li Rong handed over six bottles, taking Li Bufan's place, so they produced more.
Lu Lei and Dong Er handed over three bottles. Lu Lei's slime was mainly from what the little monkey stole yesterday, which she hadn't finished handing over. Dong Er's slime was from legitimate labor; he had an advantage that others didn't have: regardless of whether he ate Blue or not, his skin wouldn't be harmed by the slime.
Qian Rui didn't hand in a single bottle and was severely scolded by his supervisor.
As night fell, Zhao Yu made a hasty escape. Last night, he witnessed Li Bufan's death firsthand; his previous claims of ignorance were just excuses. There were monsters in the breeding room tonight, and he wasn't going to stay.
Qian Rui followed closely behind with light steps.
Li Feng and Li Rong walked out of the breeding room with heavy expressions. Li Rong's facial wounds were even more severe, with the flesh inside the wounds even turning outwards. She did not choose to lie down because of the side effects of the mucus, but instead worked even harder.
With six people dead and one missing last night, not many people will be working overtime tonight.
Lu Lei, who left work on time last night, chose to stay. She had a suspicion that she needed to verify.
Seeing that Lu Lei hadn't left, Dong Huimiao also chose to stay without hesitation.
Lu Lei took out half a bottle of mucus, placed it on the railing, pulled out a chair, and settled into a comfortable sitting position.
Winter-damaged seedlings were dumbfounded. They quickly scraped off some of the slime, put it in a bottle, and struck the same sitting pose.
Lu Lei rolled his eyes: "A clever copycat."
Dong Huimiao rolled her eyes in the same way: "There's nothing I can do. Without your amazing skills in stealing techniques, I can only learn the basics!"
Dong Er...
Lu Lei silently murmured the name, staring at Dong Er's slightly slender body, the expression in his eyes, and recalling his rising intonation. An interesting thought popped into Lu Lei's mind—could Dong Er possibly be Dong Huimiao?
Lu Lei was amused by this interesting guess and slightly raised the corners of his lips.
"What are you laughing at?" Dong Huimiao asked defiantly. Before Lu Lei could answer, "he" suddenly changed his expression and said, "Something is coming."
Lu Lei stood up from the chair, her feet slightly off-center, and she could feel that faint discomfort.
A few bolder individuals stayed behind in the adjacent breeding room to work overtime. They glanced at the two men suspiciously, but they didn't detect any unusual activity.
An ominous aura approached the bottle containing the viscous liquid. Lu Lei flicked his finger, and flames exploded around the bottle, enveloping it in an ominous aura and forcing it to reveal its true form.
It was a semi-transparent viscous liquid mixed with black mist, and its texture was very similar to the viscous liquid secreted by the insect treasure.
The black slime churned and twisted in the flames, yet it still couldn't resist sending out a tentacle, vainly trying to probe into the bottle.
However, before the tentacles could penetrate the bottle, they were charred by the flames, and the black slime turned into a clump of dried glue that fell to the ground.
A layer of transparent mucus floats on the dried glue, just like the mucus secreted by the insect.
Lu Lei had an idea. She took out a clean bottle and scraped the slime into it, filling the entire bottle. She planned to give the bottle of slime to her supervisor tomorrow to see if it could be counted as "performance".
This method of obtaining the slime is more efficient and seems to cause less damage to the skin. However, during the burning process, a little bit of the black slime splashed onto Lu Lei's hand, corroding a small area.
Dong Huimiao followed the same method, but unfortunately she had no fire, only a dagger for self-defense. But she was very lucky; the dagger somehow pierced some part of the black slime, causing it to fall to the ground and spew out transparent slime.
From the other breeding rooms, piercing screams could be heard.
The gatherers who had consumed Bru seemed unaware of the black slime's presence. They only realized something unknown was approaching when the slime in their bottles was stolen. Once they tried to find the thief, they were attacked by the black slime.
Some of the vigilant individuals, like Lu Lei, only suffered minor corrosion injuries. Those less fortunate lost their lives without explanation, ending up like the corpses from the previous night.
Lu Lei crouched down, carefully examining the dried glue on the ground. If the glue was saturated with slime, it would be exactly the same as what she had found on the ground that morning. Perhaps the person who killed the black slime last night hadn't collected the clean slime secreted in time.
However, Dong Er's situation puzzled Lu Lei. When Dong Er was stabbed by the black slime, he definitely got the slime on him, but his skin showed no signs of cracking.
Inside the collection room, it seemed that only she and Dong Er could sense the approaching black slime in advance.
Is it because you haven't taken Brukinsa before?
Lu Lei was unaware of Dong Er's situation. If Qian Rui and Li Rong were here, they might be able to provide a more accurate comparison.
In any case, Touji is now a very special being. He is neither corroded by the slime nor can he sense the black slime approaching in advance.
If the second winter is the outer shell of the seedlings destroyed in winter, then it seems to make sense.
We still need to bring Qian Rui and Li Rong over to test the properties of the black slime.
Lu Lei asked casually, "How many Blues do you have now?"
Today was Dong Er's third day working at the factory, and he hadn't achieved any outstanding results, only managing to collect three Mini Blues. He opened his mouth, the answer lingering in his throat, before finally saying, "Why are you asking this?"
"I'm curious. Your skin is so smooth. You must have eaten all of Blue and didn't save any, right?"
Dong Er was startled by Lu Lei's answer, his back trembling. Realizing he was different from others, he became even more cautious. He stared intently at Lu Lei's smooth face, failing to notice the wound hidden beneath her collar.
Dong Er wanted to explore further, but an ominous aura returned.
