Chapter 447 Valley of Villains 4

Evil Valley is a place where human trafficking is rampant.

If you can get through the rules, you can buy goods at a 90% discount.

Of course, if the buyer catches the eye of someone in the Villain Valley, they might become a commodity to be sold...

The above is all knowledge that Hu Xue has popularized.

I never imagined that someone would risk their life to save money!

Xia Chuhe twitched his lips: "Yes, we have too many people who want to take us away, so this is the only way we can do it."

Most of the goods recently exhibited in Evil Valley were from the citizens of Taotie City.

How could Lord Xia possibly pay money to "fund" such evil deeds? Naturally, he would cut off the source and take the person away without paying a penny. Perhaps he could even get the seller to contribute some money.

Xu Ding tugged at his younger brother's clothes, annoyed that he talked too much.

...

"The route is planned. Does anyone want to come along?" Dr. Han looked at the four bodyguards, his eyes full of anticipation.

"Only two can go, leave two for me," Boss Qian shouted.

The sample collection location was quite far away, so Qi Zhen and Dr. Han had to use the snowmobile inside the vehicle, along with their sampling tools and sample boxes.

Two motorcycles, carrying a maximum of four people.

Mr. Qian is going to explore the nearby Death Ice Lake. He will first drive a tracked vehicle and then walk there.

The bodyguards exchanged glances, and Xu Ding spoke first: "The two of us will go on an adventure with Boss Qian."

Logically, separating the two groups and having them regroup and go to different locations would ensure the completeness of the information.

However, in the extreme environment where he loses his superpowers, Xu Ding prefers to be in a group with his younger brother, even if it means losing some information, in order to ensure their safety.

Xia Chuhe thought so too.

Xu Ding chose Boss Qian because Boss Qian held a dominant position in the team, and the "Death Ice Lake" sounded like it was full of secrets, perhaps holding the key to breaking the deadlock.

Xia Chuhe had no objection to this; what was bound to happen would happen eventually. Perhaps when the research institute returned with the samples, Boss Qian and his group would be stuck in the deadly icy lake awaiting rescue...

Two motorcycles, just enough to carry four people.

Xiao Zhou, the doctor, and the director were all Qian's men, so they chose to go with Qian.

Only the director wanted to film both the research institute sampling and the deadly ice lake adventure, wishing he could split himself in two.

After agreeing on the personnel allocation, Xiao Zhou helped move the snowmobiles out of the way.

Qi Zhen put the sample box and observation instruments into the motorcycle equipment box.

Dr. Han took two sets of sampling tools and eagerly waited for Xia Chuhe and Lu Danggui to put on their helmets.

Xia Chuhe and Lu Dangui each rode a motorcycle, with Qi Zhen and Dr. Han riding behind them respectively, and drove in the direction Dr. Han pointed out.

The snowy road was rugged, with occasional crevasses and fissures beneath. If a tracked vehicle were to drive across, even the slightest movement would likely cause the ice to collapse.

Only motorcycles can travel on this ice surface, but even so, motorcycles are difficult to brake, make sharp turns, and travel very slowly.

Xia Chuhe drove ahead to scout the way, and through his goggles, he vaguely saw a seal lying on the ice, showing no intention of avoiding it.

She gradually slowed down, and only when she got closer did she realize that the ice block the seal was lying on was also split.

If they rush over recklessly, they'll probably fall into the river.

It was slightly safer for Lu Dangui to follow her.

The seal's posture was rather strange; it didn't dodge the approaching motorcycle.

Xia Chuhe stopped the car to observe carefully.

The seal was dead; its abdomen was shrunken, as if it had been eaten.

However, there was no blood around, so it's unclear whether it was frozen and covered up by ice and snow.

Xia Chuhe didn't linger and continued on his way.

After proceeding cautiously for two or three hours, Dr. Han finally called a halt.

Despite the frigid conditions in the Arctic, Xia Chuhe was still sweating profusely from the intense three-hour motorcycle ride.

As soon as I took off my helmet, a puff of white steam rose up, and my hair froze into clumps; patting it a couple of times caused ice crystals to fall off.

Dr. Han held the locator and walked around for a while before stopping at one spot: "The last sampling was done in an ice cave here. We'll drill it again with a auger when the polar night comes."

The ice hole drilled by the auger was shallow, and Dr. Han did not expect to get anything of value from the sample. However, the inactivated virus he observed had a unique value, which is why he pulled in resources to do it again.

"There's a warm island over there formed by a colony of emperor penguins. You can pitch your tent downwind and rest for a while," Dr. Han said with a smile, "but it smells terrible."

The other three were naturally not picky.

The four of them tiptoed to the area where the emperor penguins lived and set up their polar tents far from their breeding grounds.

The temperature here is indeed much higher than at the collection point; at least most of the wind and snow are blocked by the emperor penguins' bodies.

The tent's exterior is made of white canvas, almost blending into the ice field.

Dr. Han went on and on: "There are a few things to keep in mind when we're stationed here: First, don't block the penguins' path back to their nests; second, don't eat fish, otherwise the penguins might come and fight over it, and it could puncture our protective suits and gloves; and third, and most importantly, never, ever get close to the incubating eggs."

The four huddled in their tent, lit a small fire, and patiently endured the wind and snow, waiting for the polar night to arrive.

...

The tracked vehicle stopped, and Xiao Zhou took out a sled from the back of the vehicle and looked at the Xu brothers, Ding and Nuo.

"You two discuss it and see who can hold our boss back."

Xu Ding: "..."

Xu Nuo: "???"

Xu Nuo: "Brother, is it too late for me to go after those two researchers now?"

Xu Ding patted Xu Nuo on the shoulder: "It's too late, you've worked hard, brother."

Xu Nuo sighed, resigned himself to his fate, put on crampons, and tied himself to the sled rope.
