Chapter 93 Cursing You Nightmares shuhaige.net

Zhao Maomao and Li Qiusheng took turns driving.

Xia Chuhe was fast asleep in the back seat.

In a daze, Xia Chuhe remembered the dandelion's curse—a curse that you'll have nightmares.

Xia Chuhe's sleepiness subsided slightly: "I hope that dandelion was just a joke, otherwise..."

Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to go back and blow away all the dandelion's offspring.

After giving himself a few words of psychological reassurance, Xia Chuhe's breathing gradually became shallow and long.

...

"I want to eat cake."

"Okay, I'll make it for you."

A person dressed in a white chef's uniform placed the cake base into the oven to bake, and the oven hummed.

Suddenly, flames appeared out of nowhere and surrounded the chef. The chef jumped, rolled, screamed, and kept pouring water on himself, but the flames remained unmoved and burned even more fiercely.

The burnt smell of burning protein wafted into Xia Chuhe's nostrils.

Xia Chuhe tried to run, but the fire relentlessly pursued him.

...

Xia Chuhe's breathing gradually quickened, and fine beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.

Lu Dangui pursed his lips, not daring to shout loudly, and could only hold Xia Chuhe's hand tightly.

...

Xia Chuhe ran and ran, out of the farm and across the road. Her steps were light, as if she could fly.

Xia Chuhe flew to an amusement park and landed in a seat on the Happy Water Float. Beside her sat a man in a suit who was eyeing her with ill intent.

Waves crashed against the surface, causing the floating board to rise and fall. Xia Chuhe had to exert all his strength to keep his balance.

The man in the suit leaned against Xia Chuhe from behind, half-embracing and half-hugging her. His hand inadvertently gripped Xia Chuhe's lower abdomen.

The floatboard lurched and, as it took off, struck a rope that shouldn't have been there at all.

The float was suddenly overturned, and the man in the suit fell into the water, but Xia Chuhe strangely landed back on the float.

The floating board happened to drift to the area where the waterfall plunged three thousand feet.

Xia Chuhe saw a piece of black cloth falling faster than flowing water.

A dark shadow loomed over Xia Chuhe—he was behind me! The man in the suit was behind me! Before I could turn around, he would definitely push me into the water!

Xia Chuhe suddenly turned his head, his hands clenched into fists.

The waves behind her splashed water all over her face.

There was no one, nothing.

...

"Wake up, wake up..." Lu Dangui's hands were gripped so tightly they turned red, but she didn't notice. She kept her voice down and whispered in Xia Chuhe's ear.

Xia Chuhe frowned, his eyelids twitching nervously.

...

The float plunged downwards, creating an intense feeling of weightlessness.

Xia Chuhe closed her eyes tightly as she was forcefully slammed into the computer chair.

The internet cafe was empty, yet the computers on the desks were lit, each screen flickering incessantly. Game characters ran around on the screens, music played automatically from the TV, and the text in documents kept increasing…

The keyboard, untouched by anyone, bounced up and down with a clattering sound.

Click-click, the mouse flies left and right uncontrolled.

Xia Chuhe held his breath and shrank under the computer desk.

Da-da-da

The sound of high heels clicking on the floor echoed like a death knell in the noisy internet cafe.

Da-da-da

It's getting closer and closer.

A pair of red high heels stopped in front of Xia Chuhe.

Xia Chuhe stopped breathing.

The owner of the high heels bent down and tilted her head: "Found you."

A rope was put around Xia Chuhe's neck, and she was dragged off her seat, leaving a long trail on the ground.

Outside the internet cafe, it was pouring rain.

High heels spread their arms wide, freely enjoying the rain.

Xia Chuhe gripped the rope tightly, breathing with all her might. She saw the asphalt road undulating, as if a small mound of earth was moving...

...

Xia Chuhe's breathing became increasingly rapid and heavy.

Li Qiusheng, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced at the helpless Lu Dangui, shook his head, and silently said to himself, "Boss, don't blame me, I'm doing this for your own good."

Li Qiusheng curled his fingers and gave Xia Chuhe a sharp rap on the head.

Xia Chuhe grunted and sat up abruptly, almost bumping into the passenger seat.

Xia Chuhe took a breath before realizing that he was holding something in his hand.

Looking down, she saw that Lu Dangui's hand had been pinched and bled from the crescent-shaped wound.

Xia Chuhe used up his daily healing ability and whispered, "I'm sorry."

A strange light flashed quickly in Lu Dangui's eyes. She shook her head, indicating that it was alright.

Xia Chuhe propped his head up, too afraid to sleep any longer.

The aftereffects of nightmares are too strong.

It's unclear whether this nightmare was a product of her daytime thoughts or a curse from the dandelion.

If it's the former, then that's too much of a coincidence.

During this time, Xia Chuhe found some clues about her parents in the wasteland, and she began to consciously recall her childhood and adolescence.

The things in her nightmares were, in fact, variations of the unfortunate events in her life.

Xia Chuhe shook his head, trying to banish the scene from his dream; dreams were far more terrifying than reality.

They drove in silence, and Xia Chuhe dared not sleep any longer. Zhao Maomao and Li Qiusheng took turns driving, and it wasn't until they returned to the Caishi base after two rounds of driving.

Upon entering the base, Xia Chuhe felt much more at ease and also remembered to continue the conversation they had had at the train station.

Lu Dangui was concerned about Xia Chuhe's unusual reaction in the car, but he couldn't say much. He could only helplessly explain, "The base occupies the northern part of the wasteland world. The southwest and southeast belong to the Chaos Zone. Because there is a lot of water in the southeast, it is called Cape Station. Correspondingly, the southwest is called Tianya Station."

"The Chaos Zone? Is nobody here?"
