Chapter 102 Princess Norren was not in a good mood.

Princess Noren left the king's office and returned to her room. Looking at the map and sand table on the table, she felt somewhat depressed.

"That damn old man, all he does is make me do things."

Noren muttered to himself, looking quite displeased.

From a young age, she was not suited for combat due to her talent, which contrasted sharply with her older sister Freya, who awakened and became a hero of "Art". She was abandoned and sent to other countries under the guise of studying abroad to stabilize the diplomatic situation.

During her time studying abroad, Noren knew that she was a failure compared to her sister, having been abandoned by her father... no, by the king. But she refused to admit defeat and began to study various strategies and military tactics to improve herself.

"And that woman, she just disappeared like that? What a useless piece of trash."

The woman Noren was referring to was Freya.

Although Freya's exceptional talent led to Noren being considered a failure, Noren had never harbored any resentment towards Freya before.

On the contrary, after learning that Freya was destined to become the next heir to the kingdom, Noren made up her mind to study military strategy. She wanted to gain her sister's approval. Since she could not surpass her sister in battle, she would shine in strategy and make Freya notice her and become her capable assistant.

But after returning from studying abroad, commanding his first war, and achieving a great victory through a clever surprise attack, Norren only saw Freya's fearful and resistant reaction towards him.

Freya is afraid of Noren. Noren's intelligence has threatened Freya's position as the first in line to the throne. She is afraid that Noren will replace her, and she is also afraid that her intelligent and almost supernatural sister will use a conspiracy to kill her in order to seize the first in line to the throne.

Their relationship gradually soured.

Noren's passionate love for her sister was doused with cold water by Freya, and she gradually lost hope.

But no matter what, the bond remains. Noren will always remember the happy times she and her sister spent together as children. But as time goes by, they seem to have changed, and they have no choice but to change, after all, they are both daughters of the royal family…

"Tsk...and that Healing Hero disappeared too. You stupid woman, it's one thing to disappear, but why did you have to take his fiancé with you..."

Noren muttered to herself, clearly annoyed. She really wanted to vent to someone.

Several months ago, after the frontline battle with the demons temporarily ended with the demons' defeat, Noren returned to the capital and met with the king, from whom he learned some news.

In order to completely bind the Healer to the Kingdom of Geolar, the king planned to marry Princess Noren to him. After all, the two were of similar age, and Princess Noren, who was a failure in combat, was a good match for the Healer, who had no combat ability. Moreover, the Healer was quite talented in learning and wisdom, and might become a second strategist.

To be honest, when Norren first heard the news, he was reluctant to accept it, but after seeing the portrait of the Healer, he seemed less resistant.

After all, he's so handsome; who isn't attracted to good looks?

Most importantly, this guy possessed an enhanced version of healing magic, so no matter how much he stepped on it, it wouldn't break... Thinking about this, Norren felt truly regretful; a toy that could never be broken had just flown away.

"Call John over here!"

Noren sent a message to the maid, telling her to call her most durable toy. Whenever she was in a bad mood and wanted to vent her frustrations, she would pin people down and stomp on them. Most people couldn't stand it and would break in no time. Only John, who had a high physical resistance, could play with her for a while. John seemed to be enjoying it.

John arrived shortly after hearing the news, much to the annoyance of Norren's patience.

"John, come here."

Norren gestured for John to come over and lie down on the ground.

"Yes, Your Highness!"

John rushed excitedly to Noren's feet and fell to the ground.

"Hmph! Hmph! Hmph! Hmph!"

Norren snorted coldly as he stomped heavily on John's head with his foot. The hard sole of his boot carried immense force; an ordinary person would have suffered a concussion in no time, demonstrating the ruthlessness of his attack.

"Oh! Oh! Oh!"

John, however, was shouting with great pleasure, looking like he was thoroughly enjoying himself.

After venting his anger, he made John kneel on the ground as a human chair, and Norren sat on it to start organizing the existing intelligence.

[Hmm...no matter how you look at it, the most likely culprits are still the demons and heroes from other countries, especially the foolish Freya and the Hero of Healing who vanished without a trace.]

[The demon spy, enraged by being exposed while poisoning Lanarita, set a trap on the road, ambushing the foolish woman Freya. Because of the month-long buffer period while waiting for the Healer to awaken, there's ample time to return to demon territory and seek help from powerful figures; it's not impossible to eliminate Freya.]

[It's not impossible that spies from other countries, knowing that the [Curse] Hero was taking the unconscious [Healer] Hero back to the capital, might send their own heroes on a night raid to reduce the number of heroes in the Kingdom of Geolar. Although the [Curse] Hero can sense the approach of other heroes, he can't react while sleeping. During this time, a hero fast enough could quickly approach and infiltrate in the middle of the night, silently killing everyone... This is a possibility, and there's even a confirmed suspect: the [Darkness] Hero, an unnamed assassin-class hero. Could it be the Kingdom of Skolin that did it?]
