Chapter 21 Does God Exist in This World?

This world is like an online game where you fight monsters and level up.

This is how Kyal described it.

In this world, once humans reach adulthood and awaken their class, it's equivalent to creating a game account.

If an awakened class is unsuitable for combat, it's like randomly getting a useless account, and there's no way to create a new account in this world unless you go to the rooftop and start over.

What if there's no hope of becoming stronger? Well, the best thing to do is simply lie down and live your own quiet life. That's what ordinary people in this world are like.

If the awakened class is a combat-oriented profession, such as swordsman, assassin, samurai, mage, berserker, gunner, or archer, it is still limited by the fact that the talent level cap for ordinary people is only 20 to 30. This is equivalent to an ordinary player in the game, belonging to the most common type.

Of course, there are also some support classes that are not suitable for combat, but can still level up and provide various forms of assistance, such as alchemists and healers.

As mentioned before, a person's class is related to their upbringing. The nobles of this world have undoubtedly grasped this principle. By constantly adjusting their bloodlines, they influence the upbringing of their offspring, thus creating higher-ranking classes.

The old king's class is the hybrid of swordsman and mage, the Magic Knight; the sword clan's class, Gretel, is the Sword Saint, a higher-level class of swordsman; assassins have a chance to ascend to the higher-level class Assassin; archers have the variant of the higher-level class Ranger; and gunners have the advanced higher-level class Gunner.

These people are like pay-to-win players in games who spend a little money on in-game purchases.

The "Hero" is one of only ten top-tier VIP accounts in the entire game, granting various privileges: advancement of original class skills, double experience cards including teammate experience, no level cap, and the ability to help ordinary players increase their level cap.

In games, we usually call people like this "cheaters," but it's different in this world. Heroes are chosen by the world; they have privileges bestowed upon them by the official team.

After creating an account, the natural next step is to fight monsters and level up. All creatures in this world can gain experience and level up by killing other creatures after they awaken. Of course, killing your own kind can also help you level up.

However, perhaps to uphold the bottom line, everyone tacitly agreed on an unspoken rule: never kill your own kind in order to level up.

Whether it's war, revenge killing, or any other reason or purpose, as long as there's a reason to attack one's own kind, then killing is permissible, but only to end the matter by killing the other party. There's absolutely no killing one's own kind for the sake of gaining experience. Such a person will only slowly degenerate into a murderous maniac and be ostracized by society.

When everyone is thinking about how to kill another of their kind to level up, the relationship between people will become a dark forest of mutual suspicion. The weak civilians will be no match for the powerful adventurers and will be at their mercy. Everyone will be in danger, productivity will cease to exist, and social order will collapse.

For this reason, both the human and demon races have established such an unspoken rule.

However, such people do exist in this world, although they are a very small minority.

Just like in a game, players can team up. The magical rules of this world presuppose that a team is formed by the majority of people who act together.

From small teams of two to legions of tens of thousands, everything is considered by the world to be a single unit.

After forming a team, the experience points gained from killing other creatures will be divided equally among everyone in the team. Similarly, if you kill a monster, the more people in the team, the less experience you will receive.

If killing a monster grants 100 experience points, and there are five people in the party, then each person will only receive 20. However, if there are only two people in the party, then each person will receive 50.

This is why Kyal only took Kreh with him this time for the upgraded hunt, and the royal family did not object or want to add anyone.

If Kyal teames up with Kree, killing a monster that grants 100 experience points will split the experience between them, with each person receiving 50. Then, with the double experience bonus, each person will receive 100 experience points.

If there are only two people, the leveling speed can be guaranteed. Too many people are actually not good. After all, hunting is not a life-grinding meat grinder like the battlefield. Quality is more important than quantity.

While enjoying this simple leveling-up method, which is as easy as in a traditional game, Kyal also had deep doubts.

If this world is like a game, then what exactly are experience points? Why are the heroes so special? Is there really a god manipulating everything behind the scenes? Could it be that all my actions are being controlled by a god?

My every thought may not be my own, but rather guided by God...

Thinking of this, Kyal looked up at the sky. The white clouds and blue sky of this other world, as well as the sun hanging high in the sky, did not make him feel novel and comfortable this time. Instead, he felt a faint fear.

Above the sky, there seems to be an invisible net being woven, which is the rule of the gods.

God, who controls everything in this world, deliberately established this rule that allows all life on earth to grow by killing each other. He does not want this world to have peace and stability, but rather to be filled with war.

What are all living beings to Him? And what meaning do the existence of heroes hold for Him? Are they ants? Pawns? Or toys?

Kyal couldn't understand it, nor could he comprehend it, because it was impossible for humans to comprehend the thoughts of God; His power was too great, and His realm was too high.
