Chapter 5 [The Eye of the Elf]

Four days had passed since he left the village, and Kyal had been on his way. His destination was both near and far from the village.

The connection point can only be established with the Elf Realm at the exact moment the star orbits align.

There was only one day left.

In order to arrive on time, Kyal didn't stop for a moment. On the fourth day, fearing that he wouldn't make it in time, he didn't sleep at all and traveled day and night towards his goal.

Fatigue accumulates continuously.

As for food, apples were not enough to satisfy his hunger, so he also picked some wild vegetables or hunted wild animals in the forest to eat. The water he brought was finished by the second day, but fortunately, his knowledge of wilderness survival allowed him to know where to find fresh water. Otherwise, without sufficient water, he would not have been able to survive.

"Ha~"

Kyal yawned, feeling a bit dizzy from sleepiness.

"We can't stop here..."

He was very tired, sleepy, and exhausted. The constant travel had made his legs weak, swollen, and painful, and his feet were swollen and numb.

But we can't stop. We're almost there, almost there. As long as we get to that place...

Kaiyar dared not be negligent. If he missed this opportunity, the next amplification of the star track connecting with the elven realm would not be until thirty-four years later. If he really missed it, Kaiyar would probably regret it endlessly in the days to come.

"How could we possibly stop here..."

Before he transmigrated, he often regretted not studying hard enough. If he had studied hard and not been addicted to playing, his life would definitely not have turned out to be such a waste. If it weren't for transmigrating, he would probably have regretted it for the rest of his life.

This time! I won't give up halfway! I absolutely won't let myself do anything I'll regret again!

Clenching his teeth, Kyal pinched his thigh hard to force himself to wake up, mustered his will, and resolutely continued walking forward on the road ahead...

Keep walking... keep walking... keep walking...

On the fifth night, we finally arrived at our destination. There was a beautiful lake nestled among the trees, and the view opened up before us, with stars twinkling in the night sky.

"Finally...we've arrived..."

Kyal, his mind hazy, looked around and finally let out a sigh of relief. His body went limp, unable to hold on any longer, and he collapsed backward onto the grass, gazing up at the starry sky. He was utterly exhausted…

But I can't rest now...

The astrological knowledge in his mind allowed Kyal to understand the arrangement of the stars; the stars had reached the correct positions, and the door was about to open.

So, Kyal forced himself to stand up again, mustered his strength, and gazed at the lake before him.

here we go.

The lake began to absorb the light of the stars.

Kyal opened his mouth, and ancient, elegant, and melodious sounds and words came from his mouth.

"————————————————————————"

This is the language of the ancient elves, and the chanted text is a prayer.

These are prayers offered by elves who occasionally slip into the human world from the fairy realm to those who have shown them kindness.

This is the spirit repaying its benefactor and his descendants.

Once a person reaches this place connected to the elven realm, sees through the secrets of the star arrangement, and fulfills these three conditions—prayer, power will be granted to them.

Of course, neither Kayal nor his ancestors had ever helped the elves.

This is the knowledge that Kayal, in his first playthrough, "restored" from the mind of an ancestor who had helped the elves.

After Kayal finished reciting the prayer, the lake shone brightly.

The starlight accumulated in the lake burst forth simultaneously.

At this moment, a blue beam of light appeared in the center of the lake, cleaving through space, and a beautiful woman appeared.

She was a beautiful woman dressed in a close-fitting, semi-transparent azure feather robe, with transparent wings, long, radiant golden hair, and clear, emerald-green eyes. Her ears were slightly pointed, and her entire body radiated starlight. Without a doubt, she was an elf.

The beautiful elf before them slowly spoke:

"I am the Star Spirit, son of man. In accordance with an ancient covenant, and to repay the kindness of your ancestors in helping my friend, let me bestow upon you the power of spirits. What is your wish?"

"

The elves listed out arms that could crush everything, feet that were not afraid of winds as strong as storms, ears that could hear sounds from a thousand miles away, and eyes that could see through everything.

But I already had the answer in my heart. I don't need an arm that can crush everything, because I will develop [Modify Evil] again based on my previous experience. At that time, I will have the ability to kill creatures with one blow without ignoring their resistance.

I don't need to be fearless of the headwinds that are like a storm, even though it will give me a lot of speed, but I won't need it for my next move.

I don't need ears that can hear sounds from thousands of miles away. Hearing too many sounds would only cause me trouble. Besides, if it's just about eavesdropping on secrets, I can simply use [Restore] on others to find out what's going on.

My purpose has always been singular.

"I want eyes, please give me eyes that can see all things."

Kayal said this to the elf with excitement and determination.

All battles are intelligence battles. Knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to victory. As long as you have eyes that can see through everything, you can directly perceive other people's special abilities and attributes, and then use appropriate methods to counter and deal with them. You can also identify the abilities of various items and even see through the weaknesses of things.

Upon hearing this, the Star Spirit slowly floated in front of Kayal and cupped Kayal's cheeks in its hands.

Then the Star Spirit brought its face closer, and Kayal involuntarily closed his eyes.

Then, I felt two soft touches on my eyelids.

“Son of man, the proof of the pact with the elves is etched in your eyes.”

Although his eyes were hot, they didn't hurt. They were burning hot, and Kyal felt a surge of power flowing out.

Then, Kyal opened his eyes.

"Is this the power of the Eye of the Spirit?"

It's incredible! You can see the magic floating in the atmosphere, the flow of the dragon veins, the status and special abilities of the elf in front of you, and even her name.

"Thank you very much, Star Spirit."

Kyal smiled contentedly and thanked her. The Star Elf also smiled and slowly disappeared.

"I finally got the [Eye of the Spirit]."

Kyal walked step by step toward the lake. Under the starlight, the clear water reflected his face, and his eyes shone with a bright green light, shining like emeralds.

I'll rest for the night and then head back. By the time I get back, it'll be almost time to return to the village. Reuniting with Princess Freya, the Hero of [Art], will be the next step in my journey to becoming stronger.
