Chapter 8 Returning to the Village and the Arrival of the Kingdom

Kyal is bathing in the river.

They were already quite close to the village, and it was still early, only morning, so there was no need for Kyal to be in such a hurry.

After eleven days of trekking, his body and clothes were in a terrible state. In order to look a little more presentable when he returned to the village, he should take a shower and wash his clothes first.

Kyary was also a respectable person.

After washing himself thoroughly and getting ashore, he washed his clothes as well. Then, he started a fire by the river.

After drying the clothes by the fire, Kyal looked at the wild rabbit that was tied up and thrown aside, a kind smile on his face.

The hare trembled at the sight of Kyal's smile. This guy was a devil. He cut off its leg, roasted it, and then used healing magic to regenerate the severed leg. For the past three days, he had provided it with three meals a day without fail.

What's even worse is that he fed it his own leg!

"Little bunny, don't worry. After all, I, Kaiyal, am a hero, not some demon. Your leg was cut off, but I healed it!"

Kyal smiled and patted the rabbit's head.

You're the one who cut off this leg!

The hare dared not speak out in anger, even though Kayal wouldn't understand anyway.

"Don't worry, this really is the last time. After this, I'll let you go."

Kyal took out a knife and began gesturing at the rabbit's thigh. The rabbit looked terrified, trembling as it looked at Kyal. If it could speak human language, it would surely shout, "Don't come any closer!"

Half an hour later...

"Sigh~ I'm just too kind. There's no braver person with a more loving heart than me."

Kyal was gnawing on a roasted rabbit leg. He had healed the rabbit and released it back into the wild. As soon as Kyal untied it, the rabbit ran off in a flash, its speed demonstrating the excellent healing effect of the recovery magic. This rabbit really should thank him for healing its broken legs.

Hare: Thank you so much!

After eating and drinking his fill, putting on his dried clothes, tidying up his belongings, and extinguishing the fire, Kyal hummed a little tune happily as he walked back towards the village.

They encountered no risks and safely reached the main road, where Kyal returned to the village.

"Sister Anna! I'm back!"

Back in the village, while passing through the farming area, Kyal saw Anna, whom he hadn't seen for a while, in the fields and greeted her.

"Kayal?!"

Anna heard someone calling her, turned around and saw that it was Kyal. She immediately put down her farm work and ran towards Kyal.

"So, did you manage to buy the testing paper?"

As Anna asked these questions, she would glance at Kyal from time to time, worried that the child might have suffered some misfortune outside.

"Sigh~"

Upon hearing this, Kyal sighed, looking sullen, and said dejectedly, "Not long after I arrived in town, someone suddenly bumped into me, and I only realized my money was missing when I went to buy the appraisal papers."

"What? That's a huge sum of money!"

Anna looked anxious.

"Sigh... there's nothing we can do. We definitely can't get the money back. I guess I was just unlucky..."

Kyal smiled wryly.

"Damn thief! He's already a city dweller, yet he still steals from us country folk."

Anna was still indignant on Kyal's behalf, but in the end she sighed.

"Never mind, it's good that you're alright, Kyal."

As Anna spoke, she suddenly noticed the geometric pattern on Kyal's right hand.

"Kayal, what is the design on your right hand?"

"I'm not entirely sure either; it just suddenly appeared on my birthday."

Kyal gave a wry smile.

His acting skills are getting better and better.

"Should we go see a sorcerer?"

Anna was a little worried that this was some kind of curse. It was normal that she didn't recognize it as the mark of a hero. Although the existence of heroes was very famous, few people knew about the mark of heroes.

If Anna truly recognizes this as the Mark of the Hero, then it means that Anna is also a person with a story.

"No need, it's just a mark. I don't feel anything wrong with my body. If it hurts, then I'll go see a doctor."

Kyal shook his head.

"By the way, Kyal, while you were away these past few days, the apples in your yard have all ripened, so we picked them and packed them up for you and put them in your yard."

"No need for that, Anna. I'll pick them myself when I get back."

There's really no need for all this trouble... It's just a bunch of apples, how much can they sell for...? I'm heading to the capital soon...

Kyal wanted to say that, but he couldn't.

"It's alright, besides, didn't Kyal save my life before?"

Anna smiled and went back to work in the field.

Kayal watched Anna's retreating figure silently, sighed, and turned to leave for home.

I might never see you again, so why are you still being so kind to me...? I don't even know how to repay you...

There wasn't much that Kyal could do, but he assured everyone that his plan wouldn't involve the village like Kyal's in the story, leading to Anna's tragic death.

The ending of the story is up to me.

the next day.

The entrance to the village caused a commotion.

"Are they here?"

Kayal hurried toward the village entrance.

Upon arriving at the village entrance, Kyar quietly mingled among the onlookers, observing the culprit who had caused the commotion.
