Chapter 28 Half-Price Storm
Sunlight streamed through the windows and fell on the wooden tables in the restaurant, creating a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
The air was filled with the aroma of food, but unfortunately it belonged to someone else...
But everyone stood at the door, gazing at other restaurants in the distance.
"Why have all the customers left?" Qingyue asked, hands on her hips, watching the other restaurants bustling about.
Fei Jian said, "Who else could it be? It's obviously Zhao Liu who's behind this. He saw Manager Su supplying goods to Li Yulan's perfume shop and making dozens of taels of silver. How could he not be jealous?"
"And Manager Su led the people to repair the roof. With such a high reputation, Zhao Liu certainly wouldn't let our restaurant have it so easy. So he joined forces with all the merchants in the county to launch a half-price storm, willing to sell at a loss to drag down our Yunque Tower!" Ying Xiaohu said.
"A treacherous, despicable, and shameless person! A villain!" Qingyue was furious and decided to go to Shanggu Zhai to reason with someone.
Su Jingge stopped her, saying, "It's no use looking. People are free to eat at whose house."
"Aaaaaah! What are we going to do? The repairs went smoothly, but now the restaurant is in trouble again. When is Zhao Zhou going to step down? When is Zhao Liu going to go to hell?!" Qingyue was being driven crazy by these two.
Su Jingge remained calm: "As long as the project continues, it's not a big problem. We're already repairing the second-class households, isn't that good?"
"Hey~ Sister Su, if they can organize events, why can't we?" Wei Shuang blinked.
Su Jingge stroked her chin: "That's possible, but let me think about how to organize this event."
That afternoon, Su Jingge had an idea.
She plans to launch a program where consumers can offset the cost of labor.
That can be considered a strategy.
Everyone was confused: "What does this mean?"
Ying Xiaohu scratched his head.
"It means that anyone who spends 10 coins in the store will receive a voucher stamped with the restaurant's seal," Su Jingge explained.
"Consumption vouchers? What are those?" Ying Xiaohu scratched his head.
Su Jingge continued to explain: "It means something that can roughly be used as a substitute for money."
Ying Xiaohu and Wei Shuang's eyes lit up: "Frog Fun! As expected of merchants, you've seen a lot from all over the country. This is a great idea."
"The consumption vouchers can be used like this: whoever repairs their roof can get more vouchers for the most they accumulate, and in the end, they might even get their roof repaired for free."
"This way, more people will definitely come into the store."
After Su Jingge finished speaking, the group began to discuss.
They immediately agreed and gave each other a thumbs up:
"Wow, this has further promoted the repair of the city walls, and our restaurant business is getting better and better."
"Haha, isn't this the best of both worlds?" Ying Xiaohu was extremely excited.
Fei Jian asked Xiao Linyuan what he thought.
Xiao Linyuan, standing to the side, nodded thoughtfully: "This method is novel; I've never heard of it before. Everyone will definitely want these vouchers, at least that's what I think."
Su Jingge felt that Xiao Linyuan thought it was good enough, so she proceeded with it.
After all, he is quite knowledgeable in this field.
"Then it's settled." Su Jingge said to everyone.
It was evening.
A group of men in white robes appeared at the entrance of the restaurant.
Su Jingge saw that the person who came was Xiao Ziyu.
What's that bastard doing here again?
A person entered the store.
Xiao Ziyu watched Xiao Linyuan taking orders at the front desk.
He straightened his back and scoffed coldly, "Brother, you were once a first-rank general, and now you're confined to a small tavern. It's truly a pity for you."
Before Su Jingge even came down from the second floor, she saw Xiao Linyuan calmly gesturing towards her: "I am no longer a general, Lord Chang Le, please don't say that. I am happy with the money I earn with my own hands, and I would never stoop to my younger brother's habit of begging for money."
They then continued writing out the vouchers and stamping them with the restaurant's seal.
Su Jingge covered her mouth and chuckled. She never expected that Xiao Linyuan, a mute man who could remain calm and collected without batting an eye, could be so infuriating.
"You!" Xiao Ziyu's face turned extremely ugly. Wasn't this a blatant slap in his face, implying that he was a gigolo?
He suppressed his anger, snorted, and flicked his sleeve: "Xiao Linyuan, what are you so smug about? A mute and an idiot, I don't believe you can run this restaurant well."
“I’ve come today to persuade you to go home on behalf of Father and Mother. I’ve delivered the message, but it seems that you have no intention of going home. So I’ll have to be frank about it.” Xiao Ziyu raised his chin slightly and stared at Xiao Linyuan.
The stamp was applied to the voucher with a 'snap'.
Xiao Linyuan picked up the voucher and handed it to Xiao Ziyu.
Xiao Ziyu asked coldly, "What is this?"
[A voucher, worth ten coins, can be used to offset the cost of roof repairs. Does this voucher cover ten coins?]
"Pfft."
Hahahahahahahaha!
Ying Xiaohu, who was standing to the side, almost died laughing.
Su Jingge couldn't help but laugh as she looked at Xiao Ziyu's face, which was twitching with anger and his eyes were red.
He immediately snatched the voucher and tore it to shreds: "Xiao Linyuan, you're a mute! You'll never be able to speak in your life! If you're so capable, then stay here as a servant with her forever and never come back to the manor!"
Xiao Linyuan wasn't angry; he just watched him silently.
Xiao Ziyu quickly calmed down: "I'm reminding you, brother, that all the merchants in the county are offering half-price deals. You'll be dragged down sooner or later. See how the restaurant will operate then, and how the renovations will continue. If you have to close down, don't regret it."
After saying that, he turned and left with that arrogant air.
Xiao Linyuan frowned slightly; he and Xiao Linyuan were indeed worlds apart.
Su Jingge, however, saw the pain hidden in those eyes.
-
Su Jingge went to the drum shop.
If you don't have cymbals, you should at least buy a drum to attract attention.
When he arrived at Lin's Drum Shop, he was a junior manager, about fifteen or sixteen years old, and worked as an assistant to the owner of the shop.
Su Jingge noticed that there were quite a few types of drums inside, but many of them were missing.
"Miss? Oh, you seem to be Assistant Manager Su?"
The steward didn't recognize him at the time, but now he remembers him.
Su Jingge smiled and said, "Little steward, you have a good eye. Since you recognize me, I won't beat around the bush. I'm here to buy a drum, just a small one that I can wear on my waist. I think this one will do."
She pointed to a small, exquisitely crafted leather drum on the shelf.
"What a pity, Assistant Manager Su, this drum has already been reserved..."
Su Jingge smiled slightly: "Is that so? When will the next batch of drums arrive at the store?"
Manager Xiao shook his head helplessly: "To be honest, Assistant Manager Su, Shangguzhai was supposed to supply us, but it's been a month since then. They say cattle are scarce, and hides are even more in short supply. I'm afraid we'll have to wait another two months..."
"I see..." Su Jingge smiled. "Why didn't you get your goods from other stores, little manager? Shanggu Zhai isn't the only one in this city."
"But who has this?" the steward sighed, then suddenly looked up. "Yes, yes, it's right here. Oh dear, Assistant Manager Su, please come upstairs and sit down to talk."
The steward poured tea for Su Jingge: "I think it would be better to get the goods from Assistant Manager Su, but my husband has already partnered with Shanggu Zhai. If we suddenly change our minds, I'm afraid it might..."
Su Jingge knew, and she smiled: "It's alright, I understand. You can discuss it with your husband and take some from me first. If you think it's good, then come back to me. After all, you can't have an empty store. How can you call it a shop if it's empty?"
"If your husband is ready to buy the goods, I can discuss the quantity with my uncle. After all, my uncle travels all over the country and has all kinds of good goods, so he's quite sought after."
After speaking, he leisurely sipped his tea.
