Chapter 13 The Aftereffects of the Door-Blocking Wine

Quedong Village.

Composed of three villages and thirteen hamlets, it is the largest Miao village.

There are more than two thousand households in total.

Each village has a village chief, and Chief Tang is the chief village chief.

Compared to Heiwu Village, Quedong Village is significantly wealthier.

This place is full of everyday life and ancient charm.

The stilted houses are built against the mountainside, arranged in a staggered and orderly manner.

Three clear rivers flow through the village, separating the three villages of Quedong Village.

As the clan elder, along with Mu Chen, A Dong, A Gan, and a dozen other Miao people, approached Que Dong Village, melodious songs drifted over, accompanied by the Lusheng dance, instantly creating an ancient and mysterious atmosphere.

At the entrance to the village, twelve rounds of welcoming wine had already been set up far away.

The first course: Congratulations drink.

The second course: Kindness Wine.

The third course: Diligence Wine.

The seventh course: Mingli Wine.

The ninth course is Kuan Hong Jiu (a type of wine).

Eleventh dish: Rich Wine.

The twelfth course: the Wine of Perfect Harmony.

The welcoming wine offered at the gate by the Miao people is a unique welcoming ceremony in Miao culture.

They would call out the prettiest girl in the village to block the door and offer her a toast.

The ceremony was particularly grand, with each dish symbolizing a warm welcome and best wishes to the guests.

It also showcases the Miao people's hospitable traditions.

Mu Chen is the guest of honor today, and he must drink a large ox horn with every round of welcoming wine.

One cow horn contains at least one and a half pounds of rice wine.

Furthermore, one must not touch the cow horns held by the Miao girls.

The Miao men are known for their drinking, but the sight of a thousand people welcoming them today truly left Mu Chen bewildered.

To be precise, he was frightened by so much alcohol.

Sure enough, he started to feel dizzy after drinking the fifth round of "smart wine".

At this moment, the Miao girls sang folk songs, every line of which was a blessing, with melodious tunes and a lingering charm.

Mu Chen mustered all his strength and continued drinking.

He knew very well that if he couldn't finish drinking these twelve rounds of welcoming wine, he wouldn't be able to enter Que Dongzhai village at all, let alone talk about renting land.

The tenth course is longevity wine.

Mu Chen hadn't lived enough yet; he had to drink.

But now he felt dizzy and lightheaded.

dusk.

Clouds and mist swirl around the mountains.

Miao girls, with the melodious sound of the lusheng (a traditional reed pipe instrument) and their graceful dance steps, lined the village to welcome Mu Chen and his group.

At this moment, Mu Chen was being supported by the men of Que Dong Village, and he vomited twice along the way.

Mu Chen thought he would pass the test after the twelve rounds of welcoming wine.

Unexpectedly...

There is another barrier in front of Chief Tang's house.

This is the thirteenth course, the wine that enters the house.

On the stone steps, more than twenty Miao girls in their finest attire held hands and danced a joyful Miao dance.

Their dance moves and their smiles were warm and bright, and the silver ornaments shimmered in the twilight sun.

The girl who came carrying a horn-shaped bottle of wine looked like a saint.

Tang Mo.

Nickname: Tangtang.

Tang Mo made her appearance in traditional Miao attire.

She wore silver ornaments and a dress embroidered with exquisite patterns, and every step she took was elegant and dignified.

Mu Chen was extremely embarrassed.

He was in a daze when he met his goddess. He didn't even know how he drank the last horn of liquor and just collapsed.

When I woke up, it was already evening.

The two village chiefs of Quedong Village and Heiwu Village chatted happily, and their conversation never strayed from how to develop their villages.

Tang Mo, meanwhile, was holding the few pages of paper that had fallen out of Mu Chen's pocket, and she couldn't stop reading them once she started.

Besides Mu Chen's beautiful handwriting, the contents of the paper were even more alarming to Tang Mo.

What was written on the paper was Mu Chen's analysis of the current market economic environment.

Although it is only a little over a thousand words.

However--

Every word is precious and insightful.

For example, Mu Chen mentioned economic development, foreign trade situation and opening-up policies, financial policies and economic stability, as well as agricultural and rural development.

Tang Mo, being in Yanjing and surrounded by high-level talent, could hardly have been unaware of these things.

She never expected that Achen from her Miao family would have such profound insights after graduating from junior high school.

As for Ah Chen's economic predictions for 1995, Tang Mo had both expectations and doubts.

Because she had just learned from Chief Mu of Black Crow Village that Mu Chen had only been to the provincial capital once before and had not set foot in rapidly developing cities like Yanjing and Guangzhou.

Mu Chen was stunned as soon as he woke up.

He found himself sleeping in a bed at Tang Mo's house.

Startled, he secretly groaned and his face turned red.

It’s over! It’s over!

When Mu Chen reappeared, a long table banquet had already been set up in the main hall.

There were fifty or sixty people sitting on both sides.

The girls from Quedong Village are offering rice wine to the boys from Heiwu Village, their songs and laughter creating a lively and harmonious scene.

"Ah Chen is awake?"

The first person to see Mu Chen was Chief Tang.

The clan elder stood up and pulled Mu Chen directly to the top seat in their Black Crow Village.

The next second, Mu Chen was given a thorough sip of water by the girls from Que Dong Village.

There were more than a dozen bowls stacked up.

Mu Chen was completely baffled.

But those eyes would occasionally glance at Tang Mo, who was leading the drinking session.

It was at this moment that Mu Chen finally saw the face of the goddess in his heart.

She is truly beautiful.

Her hairstyle also indicates she is an unmarried woman, and the floral ribbon is still there.

"That's enough. Don't get Ah Chen drunk. We still have things to discuss with him."

Although Chief Tang interrupted in time, Mu Chen fainted again.

He was mostly confused by the fact that Tang Mo was single.
