Huang looked at Zhao Qingyan with an expression as if she were an idiot.
"Sweetie, you forgot? Even if there's a fire, you can't open the door until the time is right. So, let's go do what we need to do."
Zhao Qingyan suddenly realized, patted her head, "Could it be that my brain has shrunk along with my body?"
Since it was still early and the grandmother and grandson had nowhere to go, they went back to their lodgings to take a nap, especially Mrs. Huang.
She's been working so hard lately, going through so much trouble to keep her husband from having any accidents.
Upon arriving at her lodgings, Ms. Huang returned to her bedroom and soon began to snore.
Leaving Zhao Qingyan alone isn't very interesting. She might as well read a book, but most of the books stored in her space are reference books and textbooks, which aren't very engaging.
I want to watch a movie, but it seems I've been too busy collecting supplies lately and haven't downloaded many.
I've been in this world for eight or nine months now, and I've watched all those movies I downloaded countless times.
"Ugh, so annoying, so boring."
While rolling around on her bed, Zhao Qingyan suddenly remembered that she could go into her spatial dimension to take stock of her supplies.
No sooner said than done. Suddenly, Zhao Qingyan disappeared from the bed.
Entering the space and looking at all the things I bought with all the money I had in my past life, I still felt a great sense of accomplishment.
Since arriving in this fictional world, Zhao Qingyan had hardly ever been here. Upon entering again, she noticed that the items in the space were arranged in a somewhat chaotic manner.
Every time I need to take something out, it takes me ages to find it.
My memory is still pretty good right now, but the longer it goes on, the more chaotic this space will probably become.
Fortunately, organizing things by section doesn't require physical effort; it can be done simply by thinking about it.
Organizing things is a very tedious task, especially when there are so many things.
I had just finished tidying up this area and thought there was nothing else, but then a huge pile of stuff ended up in some corner.
Even using mental focus, one gets tired after a while. Feeling dizzy and lightheaded, Zhao Qingyan quickly stopped and ate some chocolate.
They ate while wandering around the space.
Upon closer inspection, something seemed amiss.
"No wonder. I was wondering before how they could fit so much stuff in a space of only 1200 square meters."
Hehe, I never expected this thing could actually get bigger.
Is this the legendary growth potential? Hehehe…
Zhao Qingyan was overjoyed at this discovery. The actual area of the space was more than twice as large as it had been initially discovered.
I walked around the space. The windows and doors that looked dark before now seemed to have faded in color.
Zhao Qingyan tried to push and pull, but the window and door remained unresponsive.
Fortunately, she was quite easygoing and didn't continue to argue with the doors and windows. After all, the space was hers, and what the outside looked like didn't seem to matter much.
There's nothing you can do about it; if you can't open it, you just can't open it.
Time flies when you're in a space.
When Zhao Qingyan came out, Madam Huang had already been awake for half a day and was now sitting anxiously in the main room.
Although she knew that with her granddaughter's skills, nothing would happen, the grandmother was prone to overthinking things.
Overthinking is a problem, and when it goes too far, Zhao Qingyan transforms from a strong, freakish girl into a weak, helpless little creature.
Having been robbed by bad people, beaten and bullied without being able to resist, Huang Shi actually started to shed tears as she thought about it.
Seeing Huang Shi weeping alone, Zhao Qingyan was terrified.
"Grandma, what's wrong? What happened? Don't cry, tell me what happened."
The gate to the Zhao family's courtyard was locked. Huang had always assumed that Zhao Qingyan had jumped over the wall to get out, but then she suddenly discovered that Zhao Qingyan was walking out of her bedroom.
Huang looked at Zhao Qingyan, then at the door, somewhat confused. She wiped away her tears hastily and stood up.
He pulled Zhao Qingyan into his arms.
"Where did you go, you brat? You didn't even say hello! You scared your grandma half to death!"
Although Qingyang County isn't very big, you're unfamiliar with the area. What if you run into a bad guy somewhere?
As Huang spoke, her eyes reddened again.
"Grandma, what's wrong? I just went inside to pack some things. Didn't you see that the yard gate was bolted from the inside?"
Don't overthink it. Besides, don't you know how skilled your granddaughter is?
"Quickly wipe your face; your once clean old face is now all dirty."
What women fear most is being told they are old and ugly. Zhao Qingyan's casual remark about "old face" immediately ignited a small flame in Huang's heart.
"You brat, I'm so worried about you, and you complain about how old I am."
If I weren't old, would you be here making me angry?
"I'm not old at all, I'm still a flower..."
With her hands on her hips, Huang attacked Zhao Qingyan relentlessly.
Zhao Qingyan sensed something was off about her grandmother, so she tentatively asked her what was wrong.
"Grandma, have you been experiencing chest tightness, shortness of breath, unusual irritability, insomnia, worsening temper, or difficulty controlling your emotions lately?"
Upon hearing this, Huang became even angrier.
"Where did you get all this nonsense from? When have I ever had a comfortable day these past few days? Tell me, when have I ever had a comfortable day?"
"Can't sleep? It's not that I can't sleep, it's that I'm afraid to sleep, okay?"
Zhao Qingyan was scolded until her skin turned ashen, but she still stubbornly retorted.
"Grandma, you seem to be experiencing menopausal symptoms. Should I take you to the pharmacy to get checked out?"
The usually gentle and kind Huang Shi had turned into a fiery lion.
He grabbed the back scratcher from the table and chased after Zhao Qingyan, starting to slap her.
This is outrageous! In both her past and present lives, aside from being beaten when she was little, she's always the one beating others up now that she's grown up!
While being chased around the courtyard by Huang, Zhao Qingyan's mouth never stopped.
"Grandma, you can't do this to me. Am I still your favorite little darling?"
"Oh, Grandma, you have no sportsmanship, you actually hit me... Waaah..."
Zhao Qingyan actually cried; she was beaten to tears by Huang Shi, and she couldn't stop wailing.
Huang only wanted to scare the naughty child. Older people are superstitious and will avoid going to the pharmacy if they can avoid it, because it is said that going there will easily bring illness.
This granddaughter actually encouraged her old woman to go to the pharmacy for treatment; she really has no taboos!
They say whatever comes to mind all day long. If we don't teach them a lesson, they'll become even more unrestrained with their mouths.
The granddaughter cried, and Huang felt sorry for her.
I quickly wiped away my granddaughter's tears. But the more I wiped, the more tears she cried.
Mrs. Huang also wanted to cry. Why did she have to hit the child?
But Huang, who was always stubborn, refused to admit that she had accidentally injured someone.
"Are you stupid? If I hit you, you just run away. Do you think I can catch you?"
You insisted on standing there waiting for me to beat you up. Look how cooperative you are, I have to give you some face, right? If I don't beat you up, who else should I beat up? There's no one else in this yard. You said I'm crazy, so I have to beat you up to vent my anger.
Look at you, you weren't very pretty to begin with, and now you're even less pretty because of crying.
Look at that skin! It's so thin and fragile; it blushes so easily. What happened to her? She didn't inherit any good features.
