Chapter 25 Going to Police Station
A large group of people arrived at the police station.
There were too many of them, but the police said they could only let three people in.
The Ye family originally planned to have Ye Fangyu's elder brother and lawyer accompany her inside, but Ye Fangyu requested that Zhang Mo accompany her instead. After thinking about it, Ye's elder brother decided not to let the lawyer go in.
So the others could only wait outside. Lang Ri originally wanted to turn off the live stream, but then Ye Sange took the phone and started berating the family for an hour.
Later, Zhang Mo learned that this family was full of hidden talents. This Brother Ye was in the entertainment industry and was actually a well-known screenwriter. He could tell stories in a very engaging way, which was quite in line with his profession.
At the same time, Zheng Hongliang's elder brother, Zheng Hongming, finally arrived.
Zheng Hongming was a portly, healthy man wearing a brand-new black leather jacket. Even after entering the police station, he didn't put down his cigarette. He had a very strong streetwise air about him, and his demeanor was very much like that of a butcher.
The two old people suddenly seemed to have found their pillar of support. They hugged their eldest son in the lobby of the police station and cried sincerely, as if they had suffered a great injustice.
Ye Fangyu, Brother Ye, and Zhang Mo sat on stainless steel stools against the wall. Ye Fangyu held Xiao Hao in her arms, while Brother Ye held Huanhuan's hand, watching the family of three put on a show with cold eyes.
After calming his parents down, Zheng Hongming looked over and yelled at Huanhuan, who was still wearing Ye Sansan's coat, "You brat, you're so young and you already know how to find a rich man to be your father? I'm your father! Get over here!"
The man's voice was deafening, like thunder. The little girl trembled all over, tears streaming down her face. She fearfully let go of Brother Ye's hand, but dared not walk in Zheng Hongming's direction.
"What kind of father are you?!" Seeing this, Brother Ye could no longer contain his anger. He stood up abruptly and glared at Zheng Hongming. This family had truly opened his eyes. How could they be so fond of fabricating rumors about their own daughters?
Ye Fangyu quickly pulled Huanhuan to her side and comforted her in a low voice.
Zheng Hongming didn't care at all. He retorted provocatively, "What's it to you? You can't even control your sister's tantrums, and now you're trying to control my daughter?"
"I'm warning you to watch your words."
"So what if I'm not careful? Go ahead and kill me, you guys have money anyway. I'm barefoot and have nothing to lose."
"Hongming, they're the ones who bullied your parents, they even bullied them at home... Waaaaaah..."
"What are you doing! This is a police station, not a place for you to argue!"
While they were arguing, Zhang Mo asked Huanhuan, "Do you have your mother's contact information?"
Huanhuan shook her head with tears in her eyes: "Mom keeps changing her phone number, I just can't remember it. Dad always keeps Mom's phone number when he borrows money, and the creditors keep looking for her, so she has to keep changing it."
"..." Zhang Mo felt her blood pressure rising. "Where is your mother now?"
"It must be at the hospital in the county town. My grandpa had a stroke because my dad made him angry. My grandma broke her leg when she took him to the hospital. My mom has to take care of them." The little girl explained with tears in her eyes, trying to convince them that her mother loved her very much and didn't abandon her on purpose.
Zhang Mo and Ye Fangyu: "What a human tragedy this is."
Feeling deeply sympathetic, Ye Fangyu was heartbroken and whispered to Zhang Mo, "How about we ask Master Yu to do another calculation? I can pay extra." She now held Master Yu's abilities in the highest esteem.
However, she was stunned for a moment after saying that, because she realized that Zhang Mo hadn't talked to her about money at all from beginning to end.
Zhang Mo took out her phone: "You're overthinking it. Master Yu, you're not that good at calculating other people's phone numbers."
Ye Fangyu asked worriedly, "Then what should we do?"
She was determined to take Xiaohao away today no matter what, but Huanhuan... she really didn't want this girl to be abused by this family anymore. But her status was at best that of an aunt, and a former aunt at that. How could she possibly take the child away from Huanhuan's biological father? The only way was for Huanhuan's biological mother to appear.
Zhang Mo asked Huanhuan for the hospital's address; it wasn't far, only about an hour's drive from here.
Her slender fingers moved rapidly across the phone, and soon she had hacked into the back-end system of this ordinary county hospital. Through Huanhuan's maternal grandfather's name, she obtained the emergency contact's phone number.
She sent the phone number to Ye Fangyu: "You're in the same boat, you make this call."
Ye Fangyu: "..." She now knows who is more skilled at comparing masters.
.
After Ye Fangyu finished making a phone call at the door and came over, the police finally separated the arguing Ye brothers.
The police officer sighed deeply: "You guys, come to the mediation room. Don't go in with the child; our colleagues will help take care of him."
Ye Fangyu gave Zhang Mo an OK sign, and then whispered a few more words of advice to her brother Ye.
Brother Ye glanced at Huanhuan and nodded knowingly.
The mediator was a policewoman surnamed Zhao, around 30 years old, with short, neat hair and sharp phoenix eyes.
Zhang Mo paused at the door of the mediation room as soon as she reached it.
Ye Fangyu: "? What's wrong?"
Zhang Mo's gaze swept across the corner of the mediation room, and she calmly continued walking in: "It's nothing."
In that corner, a ghostly old man in a police uniform, faintly radiating a golden light, squatted there, smiling and holding an enamel mug emblazoned with "Serve the People." His eyes were fixed on Officer Zhao, his face brimming with pride, and he couldn't help but mutter to himself, "You guys are really lucky. My daughter is a master mediator. No, my daughter's also excellent at criminal investigation. My daughter is great in every way; my daughter is the best cop! Hehe!"
Strictly speaking, Xiao Hao's soul was a living spirit, while this was the first real ghost that Zhang Mo had ever seen.
Lang Ri had previously given her a simple explanation: ghosts radiating golden light are those who performed many good deeds in their lives and are filled with merit. If they have any unfulfilled wishes, the ghost messengers will give them face and allow them to linger in the human world for a while longer.
I just wonder what unfulfilled wish this virtuous old policeman might have left behind...
As she pulled out the chair and sat down, Zhang Mo's mind was already filled with a series of intricate cases, unresolved mysteries, truths hidden in layers of fog, and criminals yet to be brought to justice.
Then they heard the old policeman's ghostly voice say, "My daughter is wonderful in every way, but I wonder when she'll find a boyfriend. I won't be able to die in peace..."
Zhang Mo: "......"
