Chapter 1 Explosive Wife
(Special reminder: This story is for female readers! It features a strong female lead! No romantic pairing! It is not for male readers!!!)
In January, heavy snow was falling in W City. Zhang Mo sat at the entrance of the ultrasound room on the fourth floor of the hospital, staring at her test results.
She's dying.
Another hospital that couldn't do anything, Zhang Mo thought, she should leave.
"You mean, when we get our premarital checkup, your cousin has to come along the whole time because he's in medical school?" a deliberately lowered, unfamiliar female voice asked.
One sentence instantly kept the naturally suspicious Zhang Mo at bay.
Many people come to see the doctor on weekends, but it's very quiet. The doctors are on their lunch break, and most people are waiting for their test results.
The one speaking was the girl among the three people in the front row. The three were a young couple wearing matching white trendy brand jackets, and the "cousin" who was playing a game with headphones on.
Upon hearing this, the man immediately became impatient: "Xu Jing, when did you become so petty? I thought that the fact that you were willing to give up your doctoral studies and choose to marry me twice showed that you are a very magnanimous and independent woman. Why are you suddenly so sensitive to such trivial matters? Did your sister say something again?"
Hearing this, Zhang Mo finally raised her eyes and glanced indifferently at the man in front of her.
Zhang Mo had heard of the "double marriage" mentioned by this person; it meant that the groom's family did not provide a bride price, and the bride's family did not prepare a dowry. It was usually agreed that they would have two children, the first child taking the father's surname and the second child taking the mother's surname.
Zhang Mo did not comment on this form of marriage, but she was very concerned about the phrase "giving up pursuing a doctorate".
Just then, the "cousin," whom everyone thought couldn't hear, suddenly took off his headphones and laughed, "Sister-in-law, don't be embarrassed. We're all family. Luo Wei's child is my child too. I'm familiar with the hospital. The elders asked me to come along mainly because they were worried you'd be tricked into doing some useless tests and wasting money."
"Ah, I see. I'm really sorry to trouble you, cousin." The girl named Xu Jing was extremely embarrassed, and immediately realized that she had been judging a gentleman by her own petty standards.
Zhang Mo's gaze swept over the shiny earring on her "cousin's" left ear and the more than 3cm long little fingernail. She frowned slightly, finally put down the medical report in her hand, and took out her phone from her pocket.
The "cousin" then began to educate the young couple about what constitutes the most comprehensive premarital checkup, which items are essential, and which are simply a waste of money.
Most of what "cousin" mentioned were tests related to fertility. Luo Wei listened very attentively, occasionally reminding Xu Jing of some precautions. Xu Jing listened blankly, feeling a strange sensation in her heart, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
The two talked for a long time, asking and answering questions, before Xu Jing finally had a chance to interject, saying weakly, "Luo Wei, go check if the results of the blood test are out yet?"
The blood test I just had was for the most basic infectious diseases, mainly checking for hepatitis B five markers, hepatitis C, syphilis, and HIV. These are mandatory tests.
"Hmm, it seems like it's been almost half an hour." Luo Wei glanced at his phone, picked up the receipt, stood up, and walked towards the self-service report printer not far away. He swiped his medical insurance card, and a "buzzing" sound rang out as paper began to be ejected from the machine.
However, no one expected that Luo Wei's expression would change immediately when he saw the first printed result, and he subconsciously crumpled the paper into a ball and stuffed it into his pocket.
Such a reaction in a hospital is not a good sign.
Thinking back to the project she had just investigated, Xu Jing's face paled. She instinctively stood up to ask what had happened, but to her surprise, her "cousin" was faster. He practically flashed past her, even bumping into her, and rushed over to Luo Wei's side in a few quick steps. He grabbed Luo Wei's shoulder with one hand and asked anxiously, "What happened?"
Xu Jing was knocked off balance by her "cousin" and took a while to straighten up. Watching the interaction between the two, the strange feeling in her heart grew stronger and stronger.
Luo Wei's face darkened. He glanced at Xu Jing again, then gave his "cousin" a very complicated look. He forced a smile and said perfunctorily, "It's nothing, it's nothing. The hospital made a mistake. They printed out someone else's report and gave me an 80-year-old man's form. I was shocked when I saw the data just now, haha." Then he grabbed his "cousin's" arm and walked towards Xu Jing. "What kind of lousy hospital is this? They can even make mistakes like this?! Let's go, let's go to a private hospital and redo it."
Upon hearing this, all the patients and their families looked up at him. This hospital was already the best tertiary hospital in their city. Besides, for him to call this hospital rubbish in front of a group of patients was a slap in their face.
The "cousin" was pulled along by Luo Wei, staggering unsteadily. He still couldn't read the true meaning from Luo Wei's complicated expression. He looked at Luo Wei suspiciously and lowered his voice: "What's going on with you?"
At this moment, the printer was still spitting out paper with a "zzzz" sound.
Luo Wei was extremely nervous and didn't dare to look back. He kept urging his "cousin" to leave quickly.
Xu Jing couldn't sit still any longer and walked towards the self-service report printer. She wanted to see the test results herself.
Luo Wei immediately grabbed her: "Xiao Jing, stop looking. This hospital is no good. Let's go to another hospital and redo it."
The usually gentle Xu Jing was unusually stubborn: "Fine, unless you show me the results."
Luo Wei: "Stop looking, there's nothing to see in this run-down hospital!"
"No, I want to see it!"
The three of them pulling and tugging at each other attracted the attention of all the other patients.
At this moment, Zhang Mo spoke up leisurely, interjecting, "If you're sick, get treatment. Think more about your family. What if you get infected?"
Everyone looked over and immediately noticed that the one who spoke was a beautiful woman with a striking, mature face, a height of 170 cm, classic long, straight black hair, a dark green coat, a short skirt, and long boots. She exuded a strong aura.
His face was too pale, and he didn't look very healthy, but considering that this was a hospital, it was understandable.
A beautiful woman's words always carry weight, and the onlookers echoed, "That's right, that's right."
At this moment, the "cousin" seemed to realize something, and his expression suddenly changed: "Do you have AIDS?"
Xu Jing was shocked: "AIDS?"
Luo Wei flew into a rage: "You're the one with AIDS! Can you please stop making things worse! I've already said, I'm not sick!!! It's this hospital that's awful!!!"
Upon hearing this, an elderly man with a cane stood up unhappily: "We're all here today to see a doctor. What do you mean by saying the hospital is terrible? You're sick and you're blaming the hospital. I've really learned something new today." As he spoke, he walked over holding up his medical insurance card. "If you want to argue, go somewhere else. Others also need to see the results."
Others chimed in, criticizing the young man for his offensive language.
Over there, Luo Wei was already at his limit, holding off two people by himself. Suddenly, an old man appeared, bypassing them and walking to the printer that was still spitting out paper. He reached out to touch the paper!
His mind went blank. Suddenly, he shouted and pushed aside the two people in front of him, throwing himself onto the self-service printer and covering it completely.
The old man with the cane was almost knocked away by his movement and looked at Luo Wei with a shocked expression.
You know, ever since he started using crutches, no matter what kind of car is on the street, even a stroller will avoid him. Now, someone actually dares to hit him?!
The old man immediately decided to lie down in a little while and let the young man experience the harshness of society!
However, before lying down, the hot-tempered old man decided to vent his anger first, and swung his cane at Luo Wei's head: "You little brat, are you trying to kill someone?!"
The sound of the stick cutting through the air clearly showed that the old man had used all his strength. Luo Wei immediately cried out in pain, clutching his head and curling up in pain.
The "cousin" immediately squatted down to check Luo Wei's head and yelled at the old man, "Why are you hitting people?!"
The old man ignored him completely and lay down contentedly.
Onlookers: "..."
With no one stopping her, Xu Jing quickly rushed to the printer and finally obtained Luo Wei's "inspection report"...
Then, the next second, the stack of papers slammed into Luo Wei's face.
Xu Jing's eyes were bloodshot with anger: "Cousin?! Did your parents know when you were kissing and cuddling without clothes on?!"
The scattered papers landed around the onlookers, who exclaimed in astonishment upon seeing them.
Zhang Mo smiled and left the place amidst the commotion.
