He glanced at his watch and said, "It's past eleven at night, brother, you're finally awake."
"Did I sleep for that long?"
Jiang Zhaoying's lips twitched: "What do you mean you slept for so long? This isn't just a simple matter of sleeping. Brother, you were in a car accident, you don't remember anything, do you?"
Jiang Yingchi did not respond.
Visually, it's all blurry.
He slowly raised his hand, and Jiang Zhaoying, thinking he wanted something, immediately asked, "Brother, what do you want?"
Jiang Yingchi then lowered his hand, his expression indifferent as if nothing had happened, as if he had simply taken a nap. Jiang Zhaoying, puzzled, asked, "Brother, this car accident wasn't an accident."
Jiang Zhaoying was a chatterbox by nature.
Their personalities were completely opposite; Jiang Yingchi was quiet and reserved, while Jiang Zhaoying was a chatterbox. Seeing her brother's pale face and silence, Jiang Zhaoying kept muttering to herself.
“You haven’t woken up yet. Huang Zhuo told me that the car accident was staged.”
"The doctor said your condition is a bit serious, you have a concussion. Brother, you have to remember me, I'm your brother, don't forget me after your concussion."
"Oh, by the way, are you feeling unwell anywhere?"
After saying a lot, Jiang Zhaoying finally got to the point.
"Give me water," Jiang Yingchi said.
Jiang Zhaoying immediately raised the back of the bed and poured water for Jiang Yingchi, saying, "Here, brother."
When Jiang Yingchi handed it over, his outstretched hand paused for a moment. Jiang Zhaoying didn't think much of it and brought the water glass close to the edge of Jiang Yingchi's hand before he took it.
While Jiang Yingchi was drinking water, Jiang Zhaoying asked, "Why don't you ask Ning Qiluo?"
Jiang Yingchi paused in the hand holding the cup.
He didn't say anything and continued drinking water.
Jiang Zhaoying said to herself, "I didn't inform Ning Qiluo. She doesn't know yet that the news of your car accident in Hong Kong has been kept secret. Neither Beicheng nor Manzhou knows about it."
"Um."
Jiang Yingchi finished drinking the water and handed the glass over.
Jiang Zhaoying caught it, but Jiang Ying didn't let go until Jiang Zhaoying said, "Brother, do you still want to drink?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yingchi's eyelids twitched slightly before she released his hand: "I won't drink anymore."
"oh."
For some reason, Jiang Zhaoying felt that her brother was acting a little strange.
But I can't quite put my finger on what's strange about it.
Something's not right.
"How are you feeling now? Is there any particular pain or discomfort anywhere?" Jiang Zhaoying asked.
"No."
Jiang Yingchi stared blankly ahead.
Sigh, Jiang Zhaoying felt that it would have been better if his brother hadn't woken up; at least he would feel more at ease that way. His brother's cold-hearted nature was something he should change. Even after a car accident, he was so indifferent and unresponsive. If it were him, he'd probably be cursing and groaning.
He took out his phone. "I guessed you didn't want Ning Qiluo to know, so I didn't tell her about the car accident. Now that you're awake, how about I give her a call?"
I just finished speaking.
Jiang Yingchi stopped him, saying, "No need."
"Why? You might not be able to leave the hospital for the next three to five days!"
Jiang Zhaoying looked puzzled.
“It won’t be just three to five days,” Jiang Yingchi said.
"What?"
Jiang Zhaoying heard it clearly, but didn't understand what it meant.
It wasn't until the doctor arrived that Jiang Zhaoying understood why he felt his brother looked a little strange.
Huang Zhuo stood silently to one side.
Jiang Zhaoying paced back and forth in agitation.
Until the doctor left, trembling with fear—
Jiang Zhaoying, hands on her hips, couldn't control her voice: "Brother, you were so composed just now, your eyes were..."
