He knew she was looking at him, a smile still playing on his lips. "My little princess was born noble, how could she possibly wrong herself?"
Ning Qiluo was angered by these words.
But it's not good to directly confront him.
He simply countered with, "What if I went blind? Would you still want me?"
Jiang Yingchi knew she was asking that on purpose, so she said, "No."
Ning Qiluo abruptly left his embrace, stood up, and her voice choked as she spoke: "You're just trying to make me angry. You're making me angry. Jiang Yingchi, I went through so much trouble to come to you, and you won't even say a nice thing to me."
Jiang Yingchi smiled, looking quite helpless: "You knew perfectly well that I would."
"Then you have to say it. If you say no, I'll get angry."
Her voice grew increasingly choked, as if she were about to burst into tears again.
Jiang Yingchi had no choice but to agree: "Yes."
"What do you mean?" she pressed him to explain.
Jiang Yingchi smiled and said, "I will want you, no matter if you are blind, ugly, or old, I will want you, I only want you."
All I wanted was a satisfactory answer.
He had already given such a satisfactory answer, but Ning Qiluo was even more upset: "If it weren't for my second brother's call, I wouldn't have known you were in trouble. I thought you were toying with my feelings and leaving me when my heart was full of you."
"So, in your eyes, that's just who I am?"
He reached out, and she returned to his arms.
He gently stroked a strand of her hair in his palm.
Even though I can't see her, it's good to be able to hold her.
Ning Qiluo shook her head in his arms, "No, I was wrong too. I was the one who said those things in the first place. Even if you did it, you weren't wrong."
"So you realized something?" he asked, a smile playing on his lips.
Ning Qiluo raised her head and looked at his face: "I realize..."
"Um?"
She said, "I realize that I really like you."
Jiang Yingchi tightened her arms around him, her upper body leaning forward, very close to him, his voice above her head: "I take every word you say seriously."
“Then you have to take it seriously.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and stared into his eyes.
Unfortunately, he couldn't see her.
Jiang Yingchi couldn't describe his feelings; her arrival was a huge surprise. In the first few days, he thought that Zhaoying might not be able to keep her mouth shut and would let her know.
He wanted her to come but was also afraid of her coming, so he asked Huang Zhuo to increase the workload of taking photos.
As time passed, he stopped thinking about whether she would come and just wanted to recover quickly so he could go find her.
"Jiang Yingchi," Ning Qiluo called out to him.
"Um."
He responded, his fingertips running through her hair.
Ning Qiluo said to him, "Happy birthday."
He was taken aback.
Ning Qilu sniffed: "I feel like I've let you down."
Jiang Yingchi: "..."
It's a good thing we were talking face to face; if she had said that over the phone, he might have started thinking about something else entirely.
She continued sniffling, "I'm so glad I made it in time. I'm so happy to be able to wish you a happy birthday on your birthday."
Jiang Yingchi couldn't quite describe his current mood, but all his grievances had vanished. With just a few words from her, he could immediately offer her his heart. And that wasn't the worst part; the young girl's hands were restless, slipping inside the hem of his clothes.
He pressed her hand down, his deep voice tinged with amusement: "Don't bully the patient."
Ning Qiluo said, "You can't see it. You have no evidence of what I'm doing. Don't move. I just want to touch you. Let go."
Jiang Yingchi laughed in exasperation: "...Where are you touching?"
The next second, however, he gasped in shock.
