Note 1: Zhang Jun was originally from the Western Army (Lieutenant Colonel of Zhong Shidao's personal guard), so the organization of his personal army still adopted the original military strategy of team-general-unit-army.
Note 2: During the process of Zhang Jun's army growing from a few thousand to 25,000, the troops were mainly recruited from newly recruited refugees from Huaidong, Jingdong and other places, who were closer to the central government and therefore not directly under the Central Control Department. The two lower levels of organization mostly adopted a more traditional system of capital-camp-control department.
Note 3: The Military Law Department was previously generally affiliated with the generals’ personal guards. It was later regularized and a large number of military scholars participated in it.
