Chapter 88 Homeless

Inner room,

For the past two weeks, the child has spent all his time inside sleeping and gnawing on this "bitter stick" that has tormented him for over a decade. When he's sleepy, he hugs this stick to sleep; when he's hungry, he hugs this stick to gnaw on. He can barely chew through the outer skin, but the inner layer is extremely hard, and he simply can't chew through it!

A month has passed, and the child inside has chewed the stick down to the thickness of a baby's arm! The inner layer is no longer as bitter as the outer layer, and even has a slightly sweet taste, but his teeth simply can't chew it anymore!

His mother came to see him halfway through the journey. When she saw that he had chewed the stick into this state, her face twitched a couple of times. Then she left the room without saying a word.

The little guy looked distressed, not knowing how to finish gnawing the whole stick. After thinking it over and over, he still couldn't come up with a solution, so he angrily slammed the stick to the ground!

The little guy reluctantly picked up the stick again. If he couldn't chew it, he could use a knife or a hammer! Suddenly, the little guy had a flash of inspiration, and then excitedly carried the stick out of the house, went to the woodshed, found a wood-chopping knife, and started hacking at the stick!

After a series of clanging and banging, the blade of the machete was covered with nicks, but the stick remained intact. The little guy, not to be outdone, took out the iron hammer from the corner and gave the stick another good beating. As a result, the handle of the iron hammer broke off! The stick was still unharmed!

"ah……"!

The little guy went completely berserk, grabbing the stick with one hand and punching it repeatedly with his fist in the other!

One punch!

Two punches!

Three punches!

The little guy had lost count of how many punches he had thrown. His hands were covered in blood, the skin was torn, and his white finger bones were exposed, but he didn't feel any pain and continued to vent his anger.

The little guy's blood flowed onto the stick, and then it was all absorbed by the stick, so there was no splattering everywhere.

A miracle happened! After the little guy's blood was absorbed by the stick, the stick slowly became soft and brittle. The little guy looked at the stick he had smashed and was a little confused, not knowing what was going on!

But since it was broken, he didn't hold back and started gnawing on the stick. When he got to a part that wasn't stained with his blood but was very hard, the little guy smeared the blood from his hands on it...

Two months later, the little guy finally finished eating the stick that had been bullying him for over a decade. Then, he happily ran outside to find his mother and tell her that he had completed the task she had given him.

The little one searched around his house but couldn't find his mother. Was she not home? Where could she have gone?

The little guy scratched his head, then sat down on his doorstep, looking at the road outside, somewhat dejectedly...

It was getting dark, and his mother still hadn't returned. The little boy sat on the doorstep, his chin resting on his hands, gazing into the distance, hoping to see his familiar figure at the end of the road. But even as the moon slowly rose, his mother still hadn't come back.

"Does Mommy not want me anymore?" The little guy was very sad. He never expected that his mother would make him eat the stick that had been hitting him for so long in order to get rid of him, and then quietly leave when he wasn't paying attention. Was he really that hateful? So hateful that even his own mother didn't want him and wanted to get rid of him.

Something's not right. If my mother were leaving and abandoning me, she would surely take all my clothes and belongings, but they're all untouched. My mother must have gone out on errands and hasn't come back.

Thinking of this, the little guy quickly got to work, running into the kitchen to start a fire and cook, preparing a surprise for his mother when she returned!

The steaming hot food was already on the table, and the little guy was waiting confidently for his mother to come home. After who knows how long, the little guy was so sleepy that he fell asleep on the table...

Suddenly, the door was slammed open with tremendous force! The little one, who was lying on the table, was startled awake. He thought his mother had returned, but he found that his mother was still not back. He hadn't closed the door properly, and a gust of wind had blown it open!

The little guy rubbed his sleepy eyes, then looked at the empty house and realized that his mother hadn't come back yet, the food he had made was cold, and his stomach was starting to rumble.

The little guy jumped off the stool and went to the front door of his house, preparing to close the door that had been blown open by the strong wind.

Just as the little guy was about to close the door with only a crack left, a hand suddenly reached in through the crack, trying to grab him. Unexpectedly, the little guy was completely naked, and he grabbed nothing at all!

The little guy was startled by the sudden hand and jumped aside! The door was suddenly pushed open by the person standing outside! Then the person stood in front of the little guy!

"Who are you? What are you doing at my house so late? I advise you to leave quickly, or I'll call for my mother and father. They are very powerful, and we don't want to hurt you. You'd better leave now!" the little guy said, looking at the person standing in the darkness outside.

"But the person in the darkness didn't seem to hear the little guy's warning at all. He just stood there motionless in the darkness. The little guy looked for a long time but still didn't know who the person standing at the door was."

He could only go to his room to get an oil lamp and see clearly whether this person was from his village or not. If he was, he could take him home; if not, he would have to call the villagers for help!

When the little guy carefully tried to take the oil lamp, afraid that the wind would blow it out, he arrived at the gate and found that the person in the darkness had disappeared!

The little guy was very puzzled. This person was just here a moment ago, how could he have disappeared all of a sudden? The little guy took the oil lamp, walked out of the door, and looked around, but he couldn't find the person standing at his door at all.

The little guy had no choice but to go back inside and close the door. This time he was more careful. He then took the oil lamp and went back inside. Looking at the table full of food he had prepared, he felt very bad. He wondered where his mother had gone and why she hadn't come back so late.

The little guy covered all the food with a bamboo lid, then went to his room in great disappointment, intending to continue sleeping, hoping that his mother would come back when he woke up.

"Boom!"

"Waaaaah..."!

Suddenly, there was lightning and thunder outside, and a strong wind blew!

The little guy didn't know how long he had slept, but he was vaguely awakened by the strong wind and thunder outside, and felt something brushing against his face.

The little guy opened his eyes with a puzzled look, and then saw a person's head right in front of him!

"Mommy, is that you?" The little one groped around in the dark, thinking that his mother had returned to his room.

"Boom! Crack!"

A dazzling bolt of lightning illuminated the entire Dayao Village! It also illuminated the face of the person in front of the little guy!

"Who are you? How did you get into my room?" The little boy looked at the person in front of him and realized that it was not his mother at all, but a person with a very scary face. The little boy questioned her directly.

"You...aren't you afraid?" The man's throat made a sound like it had been burned by sulfuric acid, which sounded terrifying, like a demon from hell whispering.

"What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of me?" the little guy asked, looking at the terrifying person beside the bed.

"Hehe, very good! I've never seen anyone so calm and collected when they see me, not screaming or being scared. But no matter how brave you are, you'll still be my meal tonight!" the man chuckled and said.

"You want something to eat? It's so late and you haven't eaten yet? Luckily, I have some cold dishes and leftovers here. Wait a moment, I'll heat them up for you. It won't take long!" After saying that, the little guy lit the oil lamp on the bedside table, got out of bed, and prepared to prepare food for this complete stranger.

The person with the ferocious face was left standing there looking completely bewildered. He had come to eat this little guy, but the little guy didn't seem afraid of him at all, and was even heating up his food!

Before long, the steaming hot food was served back on the table, and she quickly sat down on the stool, looking at the person standing next to her with hopeful eyes.

"Sit down, this stool is for me. It's a bit low, but it's okay. We never have any guests at home, so we don't have many stools. My mother doesn't like others sitting on this stool, so I'll have to sit here!" The little guy explained very seriously.

"Who cares about the filthy garbage that ordinary people like you eat! I want to eat you, not this filthy food!" The man finally flew into a rage, his whole body began to emit black smoke, and the temperature in the room dropped by more than ten degrees!

The flame of the oil lamp on the table had turned a ghastly green, making the person appear even more terrifying, with a blue face and fangs, staring fiercely at the little guy in front of him.

"I'm not a ferocious beast or animal from Mount Dayao, why would you want to eat me?"

"It's because you cunning humans went into the Dayao Mountains to kill our kind and steal our food, making our lives miserable. That's why I came down here to take revenge! I'm going to kill you human cubs. Just like you humans say, the younger the creature, the more flavorful it is!" The man said, grinning maliciously at the little guy.

"You came from Dayao Mountain?" The little guy looked at this fierce-looking man without any fear, and asked with shining eyes.

"Yes! I am the Great Immortal Linghu of Lingya Peak and Lingyun Cave on Dayao Mountain. You humans have been harassing my people for so long that they have come to my Lingyun Cave to complain about you humans and disturb my peaceful cultivation. So I have come here to teach you humans a lesson and to give my people an explanation. How about it? Are you scared?" The man said arrogantly, looking down at the human cub standing in front of him.

"Do you know where my father is at Lingya Peak?" the little guy asked, looking at the fierce-looking man with anticipation.

"Your father? Who is your father? I've never heard of any of our races from Lingya Peak mating with humans!" The man looked at the little guy with some surprise. Could it be that one of his brothers from Lingya Peak had messed with a human girl, and that's how this little one was born? The man began to fill in the blanks with his own imagination.

"No, my father went to Lingya Peak to gather herbs, and then he never came back!" the little guy said with a disappointed look.

"Hehe, you mean your human father? I think I've seen him before. Was he a man? And carrying a tattered basket on his back! And digging around with a medicinal hoe?" The person asked, based on the humans he had seen digging for medicinal herbs at Lingya Peak.

"Yes, yes, yes! Do you know where my father is now?" The little guy was very excited to hear that this person knew about his father. His mother had been searching for his father for so long without success. He never expected that he would have news of his father now. He wondered how happy his mother would be if he told her this news when she came back.

"I ate it!" the man said, grinning maliciously at the little guy.

"What? What did you say? Say it again?" The little guy thought he had misheard and looked at the person in disbelief, then wanted the person to say it again.

"Your father came to my Spirit Cliff Peak to dig for spiritual herbs, and I found him. Then I ate him in one bite. Although the taste wasn't very good, but..." Before the man could finish speaking, he felt his knees being tightly gripped by a pair of iron clamps!

"Why did you eat my father? Don't you know I don't have a father? What do the other kids in the village say about me? They say I only have a mother and no father, that my father left because he thought I was a freak! So it was you who ate him!" The little guy became more and more agitated as he spoke, and the man felt like his knees were about to be crushed by this human child!

"You... what are you going to do?" The arrogance on this person's face had vanished, replaced by terror as they stared at the human child who looked only three or four years old. They sensed that this child was extremely dangerous!

"What do I want? Why did you eat my father? Spit it out now, or I'll be very rude to you!" The little guy looked at the person who was many times taller than him with a serious expression.

"Spit it out?" The man was completely bewildered. He had only intended to scare the human cub; he had no idea whether he had actually eaten the cub's father. Now the cub was demanding that he spit out his father? How could he do that? So much time had passed; the father might have become fertilizer for a tree or a clump of grass. He wanted to slap himself for bragging like that!

"Well, actually I was lying to you just now. I didn't eat your father. It's just that he always told me his daughter was very beautiful, capable, and brave, so I wanted to come down and see if she was as good as he said!" The man said, trying to keep a smile despite the sharp pain in his knees.

"Really? Then why is my father with you? Why doesn't he come back? Is it because you don't want him to come back?" The little guy looked at the person with a dangerous expression, sensing that this person was very bad!

"It's not that he didn't want to come back, but he was attacked by a ferocious beast while digging for a spiritual herb on Lingya Peak. I saw that he was seriously injured, so I let him stay with me to recuperate!" the man quickly said.

"Is everything you're saying true?" the little guy asked, looking at the man with his big, blinking eyes.

"Really...!" The person felt the pressure on their knees gradually weakening and breathed a sigh of relief, fearing that the human cub might accidentally crush their knees.

"Okay, I'll trust you this once. Now take me to your house, I want to see my father!" the human cub said to the spirit tiger.

"You? You want to go to my house? Are you serious?" Linghu was completely dumbfounded. He didn't expect that this human cub was either too arrogant or that he had the strength to do so. Wasn't he afraid that he would take him to Lingya Peak and then kill and eat him?

"What? Were you lying to me about everything you just said? Are you feeling guilty now?" the little guy asked, looking at the man with a displeased expression.

"No, no, no, everything I just said is true. I just didn't quite believe it, but now I finally believe it. Your father said you are incredibly brave!" This person admired this human child from the bottom of his heart; he was truly a fearless newborn calf!

In the pitch-black night, countless lightning bolts streaked across the raging sky like cracks in the heavens, appearing and disappearing in an instant! Blinding flashes of light illuminated the earth!

The wind howled fiercely, as if it would overturn everything on the earth! Countless trees were pressed down by the hurricane, unable to straighten up!

The rain poured down! It was as if the heavens felt that the world below was too turbid and wanted to thoroughly wash away the filth and cleanse it of all its impurities!

Dayao Village!

Countless villagers' houses were blown down by the hurricane, and torrential rain poured down from the sky!

A flash flood struck! Countless lives were swept away by the flood, their whereabouts unknown! The villagers of Dayao Village were not spared either; countless villagers were swept away by the flood and buried deep underground by the sudden mudslide...

In this extremely harsh weather, two people were speeding toward the main peak of Dayao Mountain—Lingya Peak!

Now, this hideous person has transformed into a giant, white-browed, piercing-eyed worm! This worm leaps and gallops between the mountains, carrying a human cub that looks only three or four years old on its neck! The two of them dodge mudslides and suddenly falling giant trees between the mountain peaks, as well as lightning bolts striking from the sky and hurricanes that sting the skin and make it hard to breathe...

"We've finally arrived!" Linghu roared at the lightning and thunder, amidst the torrential rain that was like a waterfall!

"Boom! Crack!"

A bolt of lightning, nearly as thick as an arm, descended from the sky, heading straight for the spirit tiger! Before the lightning even arrived, the hairs on both the human and the insect stood on end!

Thin arcs of electricity began to appear on the surrounding objects, accompanied by terrifying hissing and crackling sounds! The spirit tiger quickly leaped away and fled the scene.

With a deafening roar, a crater the size of a round table was cleaved into the spot where the spirit tiger had roared! The man and the tiger looked at the spot where they had just stood with lingering fear. If they had been a moment later, they might have been chopped into two pieces of charred remains!

The spirit tiger dared not act recklessly again and cautiously prepared to return to its cave. After all, it had tricked a cub back from the humans, and it hadn't yet decided how to eat it. It would wait until it had figured it out.

The spirit tiger carried the little guy to the entrance of its cave, ready to show off its auspicious location to the human cub. But when it saw the scene before it, its vision went black, it staggered, and it felt like the sky was about to fall!

Linghu's prized cave had been largely destroyed by a flash flood caused by torrential rain! Then it was flooded by a mudslide! All the treasures he had collected inside were buried there, and he couldn't retrieve a single one!

"Daddy!" The little guy saw that the tiger's den had been turned into this state, and his father inside was probably in grave danger! The little guy shouted and was about to rush towards the mudslide that was still slowly filling in, but was grabbed by the spirit tiger.

"Are you fucking crazy?!" Linghu roared at the little guy.

"Let me go! I need to save my dad!" The spirit tiger couldn't hold the little guy down at all!

"I'm lying! Your father isn't here with me at all. I tricked you into coming here so I could eat you!" Linghu roared as he held the little guy down with all his might.

"Don't try to comfort me. You can eat me, but I need to save my father first!"

"Your father really isn't here with me. Stop going crazy! You'll suffocate if you go inside!" Spirit Tiger warned.

"Even if it means death, I will save my father!"

"Boom!"

"Boom boom boom..."!

Just as the man and the tiger were wrestling together in the torrential rain and howling hurricane, the top of Lingya Peak was suddenly struck by a continuous barrage of lightning as thick as a water vat.

Under the dazzling light of lightning, a humanoid creature stood atop Lingya Peak, battling against the thunderbolts! Single-handedly, it shattered and dispersed the lightning!

"Who is undergoing tribulation up there?" Linghu looked at the very tall person standing on the mountaintop, who looked like a very resilient, towering tree from afar!

"It looks like a person!" The little guy felt that the figure on the mountaintop was very familiar, and then he walked towards the mountaintop without thinking!

"Are you out of your mind? They're undergoing tribulation up there. Look at the lightning in the sky! That kind of spectacle is far beyond what a little Karami like us can handle. Don't go near! Be careful you don't turn into ashes and never be reborn!" Spirit Tiger stopped the little guy and said, feeling that this brat was just asking for trouble, always going to dangerous places! He really never gave Tiger a moment's peace of mind!

"My mother is up there! I have to get up there! I don't have a father anymore, I can't lose my mother too! Let me go, or I'll kill you!" The little guy roared at the spirit tiger with a fierce and anxious look on his face.

"Go ahead! I won't stop you. Your mother is currently focused on overcoming her tribulation. She might have been able to survive this great tribulation, but you unexpectedly appeared and distracted her. You can imagine what will happen next!" The spirit tiger suddenly released the little guy and said quietly.

The little guy paused, turned to look at the spirit tiger who was also coldly watching him, then looked at his mother on the mountaintop, and still rushed towards the mountaintop without hesitation...

The raindrops pounded hard on my body, causing me great pain. The torrential rain made it hard to breathe. The wind on the summit of Lingya Peak was even stronger. Countless trees and boulders were blown around by the hurricane, and mud, sand, branches and stones were flying everywhere in the air!

The little one hid in a sheltered ravine, where the water had reached up to its neck. Its tiny hands clung tightly to a very strong tree root above it, praying in its heart that its mother would survive this ordeal safely and unharmed...

Thunder is roaring!

The wind is howling!

The torrential rain is raging!

With each bolt of lightning that struck, the entire Dayao Mountain trembled slightly! A burnt smell permeated the air everywhere! The entire mountaintop crackled with electric arcs.

The thunder was like a heavy hammer, striking the summit of Lingya Peak again and again, as if it wanted to flatten the people on the summit and the entire Lingya Peak!

No one knows how much time had passed, but the little guy and the spirit tiger were soaked to the white by the rain in this sheltered little mountain hollow, and the little guy's lips had turned dark purple...

The thunder began to subside, the wind lessened, and the rain gradually stopped. The entire Dayao Mountain was transformed into a swamp, with traces of the storm and lightning everywhere...

"Mother!" A little mud figure ran out from a small ravine. Because it had been soaking in the water for a long time without moving, its hands and feet were a little numb. It fell down as soon as it came out. The little mud figure did not care about the pain at all and continued to stagger and slip as it ran towards the top of the mountain...

"Slow down, wait for me!" Linghu called out as he chased after the little mud figure.

Dayao Mountain,

At the summit of Lingya Peak!

The mountaintop struck by lightning resembled a breathtaking apocalyptic scene. Scattered charred rocks lay chaotically across the summit, remnants of the devastation, emanating a pungent, smoky odor. The once lush vegetation was reduced to ashes, leaving only desolation and death.

A series of jagged cracks meandered down from the center of the mountaintop, like wounds torn open the earth, a shocking sight. Broken rocks tumbled down the cracks, smashing deep craters into the hillside.

In the sky, the thick dark clouds still churned and surged, but they no longer had their previous imposing presence. However, they still gave people a very oppressive and suffocating feeling, making people feel awe and fear!

The entire mountaintop was still shrouded in gloom, appearing somewhat dim and lackluster, creating a somber atmosphere in contrast to the lightning-struck summit. Occasionally, a few startled birds would fly by, emitting mournful cries, further adding to the desolate ambiance.

Below the mountain peak lies a silent valley. The once clear stream is now murky, perhaps polluted by the ash from the mountaintop. Time seems to have frozen in this scene, leaving only the lightning-struck mountaintop, alone, enduring nature's wrath and ravages, telling the story of a terrifying catastrophe...

"Mother!" The little clay figure arrived at the mountain peak and saw a deep pit there! This pit connected to the terrifying cracks on the mountain peak!

The little mud figure leaped into the deep pit, where there was scorched earth everywhere. Inside the pit was a half-burnt tree stump that looked like it had turned into charcoal and was still smoking. It would take seven or eight adults to encircle it!

"Mother!" The little mud figure cried out in despair in the deep pit, searching everywhere for its mother, its hands frantically digging at the scorched earth in the pit, which had been struck by lightning...

The little mud figure wandered aimlessly in the deep pit, crying as it dug at the scorching earth, hoping to find its mother. But it had no idea where its mother was in the pit, and could only dig around like a headless fly...

A ray of sunlight pierced through the dispersing dark clouds and shone on the half-tree stump in the deep pit. The charred material on the half-tree stump, which had already turned into charcoal, began to slowly fall off...

“I have an idea. I feel your mother should be this!” Linghu said, standing at the edge of the deep pit and looking at the half-cut giant tree stump.

"My mother is a human! She's not a tree!" The little mud figure glared fiercely at the spirit tiger, then continued digging in the scorched earth...

Click, click...

The broken tree stump made cracking sounds, and the charred material on the outside of the stump began to fall off rapidly. The stump, which originally required seven or eight adults to encircle, had become a stump that only one adult could encircle as the charred material fell off, and the surrounding area was covered with the charred material that had fallen from this one tree stump...

The little guy had stopped digging in the scorched earth and was just staring warily at the half-tree stump, as if something inside the stump wanted to come out!

The giant tree was severely damaged by the lightning. The deep pit was filled with charred material that had fallen from the tree stump, but it was still covered with layers of black char, looking lifeless from the fire of the lightning!

Only when the burnt-colored material peeled off to the thickness of a baby's arm did a patch of normal tree color appear inside, only as long as a chopstick.

Under the sunlight, this intact piece of tree heartwood quickly transformed into the shape of a human figure, becoming a lifelike wooden carving only the length of a chopstick!

"This wood carving looks familiar!" the little guy thought to himself, looking at the wood carving in the deep pit with some confusion.

"Stand here, I'll go take a look!" Linghu said softly, then carefully prepared to wade through the charred material inside to take out the wooden sculpture!

Linghu felt a gentle breeze brush past him, and in a flash, the human cub was standing in the center of the half-tree stump, holding a wooden carving in his hand, looking at the carving with tears in his eyes.

Linghu looked at the human cub with some confusion, wondering why it was shedding tears over a wooden carving. By the time Linghu got closer, the human cub had already put the wooden carving behind its back and left without looking back...

Dayao Village,

The little guy arrived at Dayao Village covered in mud, only to find it ravaged by the storm, with countless corpses stuck in the mud and the houses swept away by the flash flood.

The entire Dayao Village was a scene of devastation, lifeless and devoid of any living creature! The little guy arrived at his former home, which had also been washed away by the flash flood, leaving only a patch of mud and sand...

The little boy looked blankly and helplessly at the destroyed village. His mother was gone, and his father was dead. Now he was truly homeless.

"Let's leave! Let's find a better place. We can't stay here any longer!" Spirit Tiger said, looking at the human cub.

The little guy glanced at the spirit tiger beside him, then nodded, left Dayao Village, and began his wanderings!

"Hahaha... Brother, it seems like we haven't seen each other for hundreds of years. Wait for me, I'll go out and see what kind of wind is blowing outside today that has blown you here!" A tiger that looked several times larger than a spirit tiger laughed loudly.

"Brother, please don't joke. I haven't seen you in a long time, so I missed you and came to see you," Linghu said with a smile, looking at his fellow creature who was several times stronger than himself.

"Hahaha... My brother is so thoughtful. You came all this way, why bring a gift? You're being too polite, brother," the spotted tiger said, then reached out and grabbed at the little guy on the spirit tiger's neck.

"Hehe, big brother, you've misunderstood. This isn't a gift from me. It's a pet I've been raising. She's still small now. I'll take her over when she's grown up, and then we can feast on her. She's so small now, she's not even enough to fill the gaps between our teeth!" Linghu said with a smile, skillfully dodging the hand of the striped tiger.

"Hehe, that works too!" The tiger scratched at the air in embarrassment, then laughed along.

"We haven't been together for so long, brother. Stay here a few more days, and I'll have my men call all our old friends over. It's been so long since we've had a get-together!" the striped tiger said happily.

"Oh, I see! I feel a bit uneasy about this," Linghu said, his face somewhat embarrassed.

“What’s wrong with that? We’re all partners, all brothers. Besides, some people are better off meeting once in a while, otherwise you might never see them again. Don’t you think so, Brother Linghu?” The spotted tiger patted Linghu on the shoulder and asked.

"Alright!" Linghu reluctantly agreed. He had no other choice. He was homeless now. He had brought this human cub over mountains and valleys to the territory of his former nemesis. He had originally wanted to sneak over, but his nemesis was already waiting for him. It seemed that he was bound to be humiliated by his nemesis this time.

"This tiger seems very friendly to you, unlike what you described as cunning and vengeful. He seems to treat you very well!" The little guy asked the spirit tiger with a puzzled look.

"Okay? Okay my foot! Do you even know what we used to call it?" Linghu said irritably.

What should I call you?

"Smiling tiger!"

A smiling tiger?

"Yes! It's the kind of person who smiles at you to your face but stabs you in the back!"

"You tigers have such complicated thoughts!"

"Our thoughts are complicated? Isn't it because we've learned bad things from you humans?"

Smiling Tiger would take Spirit Tiger around his territory every day, showing off the treasures in his territory as he went, and occasionally asking if his Spirit Cliff Peak was as good as his.

Linghu simply smiled throughout, not wanting to cause trouble, hoping that this smiling tiger would finish showing off in front of him and then let him leave.

A few days later,

Smiling Tiger finally gathered all the companions who had been bullied by Spirit Tiger back then. Fifteen tigers of various colors stared menacingly at Spirit Tiger and the little guy! It seemed like they were ready to come up and teach those who had bullied them a lesson at any moment!

"Oh my! I thought it was someone else! Our Smiling Tiger Brother was urging us to come here in a hurry, saying that there was a big shot here and we had to come and pay our respects. I didn't expect it to be you!"

"Yeah! I never dreamed that Brother Linghu would come to our poor, remote, godforsaken place. Brother Linghu, why aren't you guarding your auspicious Lingya Peak? What are you doing here? We're already far enough away from you, what more do you want?"

"That's right, don't think that just because you're a White Tiger, we're inferior to you. Let me tell you, you're not the same person you were back then, and neither are we!"

"Hey, hey, hey... what are you all doing? Brother Linghu is just here to see his old comrades, he has no other intentions, why are you all making such a fuss as soon as you arrive!" Smiling Tiger quickly stopped his companions who had been called over from mocking Linghu.

"Yes, back then, we were all young and ignorant, so we did some things that were a bit too extreme. So much time has passed, why hold onto it? Let bygones be bygones. We've finally managed to get together, let's not talk about these things, let's not talk about these things!" Some of the tigers started playing the role of peacemakers.

The group followed the Smiling Tiger into his cave, where a feast had been prepared. On each stone table was a skinned animal of all kinds, all covered in blood, and the entire cave was filled with a strong smell of blood!

"Come on, everyone, find a seat. This food was hunted by my little ones in the territory this morning. It's very fresh. Don't be shy, eat as much as you want, there's plenty!"
