Chapter 378 What a stupid worm!
Yuri suppressed the surging violence in his heart, thought for a moment, and then sat in his wheelchair outside the bedroom.
Then he dialed the quantum computer and contacted Tan Chi directly.
The communication was quickly connected, and Tan Chi was quite surprised to see Yuri's face on the screen.
He slowly rose, seemingly from the courtyard.
"Lord Yuriel, is there something you need from me?"
Yuri glanced at Tan Chi indifferently and cut straight to the point without much patience, "Your Highness, I would like to ask why the military sent guard mechanical insects to the Graham family?"
Tan Chi seemed to have expected this, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. "This was something Mi En requested on his own initiative, not something the military forced him to do."
He thought Yuriel would go to Eli to ask about this, but unexpectedly he came directly to him.
It seems that Yuriel is not as irrational as the rumors suggest.
At least when it comes to using his brain, he is many times smarter than other insects.
Yuri clearly didn't believe Tan Chi's explanation.
He stared at him for a moment before frowning and asking, "Why did Mien request the military to send guards to protect the mechanical insects?"
Tan Chi shrugged. "It seems Mi En didn't explain in detail to you. He received information that some insects are certain you will die unexpectedly soon. Mi En is very worried, so he applied for the highest level of guarding mechanical insects to ensure your safety."
"Accidental death?" Yuri scoffed, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. "Who said that?"
Making his female insects worry about him is a skill in itself.
But if the military gets involved, then that worm deserves to die!
Tan Chi shrugged. "I'm not entirely sure what channels the military used to get this information. But I guess Mi En is worried that you're not mobile enough, and he's afraid you wouldn't be able to save yourself if something happened."
He paused, his gaze shifting to Yuri's legs. "The military's biomechanical laboratory has made significant progress recently, perhaps it can help you stand up again. I wonder if Lord Yuri is interested?"
Yuri's heart skipped a beat, and she looked at Tan Chi with a dangerous glint in her eyes.
His leg was a taboo subject in the Graham household, and indeed, very few insects dared to bring it up in front of him.
Tan Chi is fearless.
However, Yuri thought about it again and realized that Tan Chi was the only male insect offspring of the Insect King, so it was normal for him to be blind to insects.
Yuri narrowed his eyes. It was good that he could stand up again, but he was afraid that this was a conspiracy by the military.
He has never had a good impression of the military or the royal family.
Although the Graham family was a great noble family, they had always remained neutral and did not participate in any struggles between the royal family and the military.
Now that the royal family is taking the initiative to show goodwill, he is unsure of their purpose.
In the past, he wouldn't have minded hanging out with them.
But now that he has a female insect, he naturally has to think more about his female insect.
Yuri looked at Tan Chi calmly and said indifferently, "Tell me, what conditions do you want to discuss?"
The royal family would never do something that loses money.
They've thrown out such a big bait; naturally, they want something else even more.
He still didn't know what this thing was.
Perhaps by negotiating with Tan Chi, he could find some leverage against the royal family.
As Yuri was thinking, he heard Tan Chi blurt out, "It's simple. Just make Michael unhappy at the Graham's house, the more unhappy he is, the better!"
"Huh?!" Yuri's brows furrowed into a deep knot. "It's that simple?"
If he remembered correctly, this Michele was Mien's brother, right?
He also seems to be Letekar's brother.
Yuri hesitated for a moment, then looked at Tan Chi with a hint of amusement. "What? Did he offend you?"
He still remembered how much the news about the three insects, Tan Chi, Michele, and Letekar, had spread before.
I heard that Tan Chi was really into Michelle before. Could it be that he couldn't have her, so he wanted to destroy her?
Tsk...
Tan Chi immediately saw what Yuri was thinking, and he frowned in disgust. "Don't overthink it. My body and soul belong to my queen. Don't let that filthy thing like Mikaela touch me!"
Yuri raised an eyebrow slightly. "Then why do you insist on making him unhappy?"
“That’s because he bullied my queen a lot when he was at the Lanetta’s house,” Tan Chi said, then added, “Of course, he bullied your queen a lot too. I think it’s okay for me to teach him a lesson, right? Besides, it’s good for both of us, isn’t it?”
Michael has a protagonist's halo, so it's difficult for someone like Michael, who's just a tool to give the protagonist that halo, to really hurt him.
But Yuriel is different; he died early in the original storyline and was completely out of the control of the plot.
With power and influence, and even above Michele, this kind of worm is truly wasted if he weren't a villain!
Yuri scoffed, "If you want to teach him a lesson, why don't you do it yourself? With your power as the Second Prince, wouldn't it be easier to crush him?"
Tan Chi pursed his lips, a perfectly timed look of helplessness on his face. "I'm a member of the royal family, don't I care about my reputation?"
"Oh?" Yuri almost laughed in exasperation at Tan Chi's matter-of-fact attitude. "You mean, you want fame, but I don't?"
Tan Chi smiled slightly, "Lord Yuriel's reputation was originally, well, that he could cure the chirping of insects at night. A little more or less, it doesn't matter much."
Besides, he's a well-known 'madman' who acts without any scruples.
Even if they did something to Michael at the Graham's house, it wouldn't surprise the bug too much.
After all, for most insects, Yuriel was already a ruin; there were no collapsed buildings to speak of in such a place.
Yuri stared at the gentle, smiling face on the screen, a growing madness forming in his eyes.
Tan Chi, however, was completely unafraid to meet his gaze.
After a long pause, Yuriel suddenly forced a smile. "Lord Tanchi is quite interesting. I can play along with him. However, if anything happens to my leg... even if you're a royal traitor, I will never let you go."
His voice was low and his tone was full of danger.
Upon hearing this, Tan Chi's smile remained perfect, as if he hadn't detected the threat in the words. "Of course, I believe in the capabilities of the military laboratory, and I also believe in Lord Yuriel's abilities. I look forward to your good news..."
Uriel: "..."
He was too lazy to continue chatting with this cunning old bug, so he simply hung up the personal terminal and went back to his bedroom.
Yuri maneuvered his wheelchair slowly toward the sleeping female insect, his eyes filled with complex emotions as he looked at the unsuspecting Mien.
No wonder Mien applied to the military to escort the mechanical bugs to the Graham's house. Was he worried about those boring death omens?
What a stupid bug.
He probably doesn't even know that if it weren't for him, he would have long since lost all attachment to this world.
His fingertips gently brushed over the ambiguous marks on Mien's neck, his fingertips lightly rubbing and caressing the few red marks that belonged to him...
