Chapter 433 Hu Shanxiang 24
The next morning, Jiming Temple was almost empty. When Hu Shanxiang finished her breakfast and calculated the time, she was afraid that the emperor and his entourage had already arrived.
There are nine floors in the tower, and it depends on Sun Ruowei to pass the message up and down step by step. I'm afraid it will take at least until the afternoon to complete the task.
"Miss Hu."
The emperor assigned two maids to serve her. One of them, named Jinxiu, walked in. Hu Shanxiang paused slightly while turning the pages of a book, motioning her to come forward and answer.
"Miss Hu, the person over there hasn't woken up yet. The imperial physician said he's in grave danger."
Hu Shanxiang raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Really? What a pity! I heard he managed to get through this even though he lost an arm, so why is he in danger again these past two days?"
"I asked, and the imperial physician said there were cases like this before. I'm afraid it was an evil wind entering the body."
"You go ahead."
Hu Shanxiang opened the scripture in front of her. Since someone had taken action, she naturally didn't need to rush into her original plan.
They waited until the sun set in the west. When they saw Zhu Zhanji again, he was covered in dust, but his eyes were surprisingly bright.
Neither of them spoke through the window. After a long time, he took out a round stone from his arms. There was a red pattern on it, which vaguely looked like the word "Xiang".
"I found it on the hill opposite Lingshan Temple. The scenery there is beautiful and it's also a good place to watch the sunrise."
Hu Shanxiang stroked the cool lines of the stone. Hearing what he said, a gentle smile appeared on her face: "Thank you, I like it very much."
Zhu Zhanji put his hands behind his back and spoke hesitantly, "Well, as long as you like it...Um, are you free tomorrow?"
"You've been busy for so long, don't you need to rest for a few days?"
"No! I mean, I'm not tired."
"Okay, for the sake of the gift." Hu Shanxiang shook the stone in her hand and nodded reservedly.
Watching Zhu Zhanji's cheering back, Shanxiang calculated the time and it was almost time to make a decision.
The next day, she was woken up from her bed at dawn. Hu Shanxiang looked at herself in the bronze mirror with sleepy eyes, and silently comforted herself that this was the last time.
Finally, everything was cleaned up. Shanxiang just opened the door and saw Sun Ruowei grabbing Zhu Zhanji by the collar, and Xu Bin standing behind her was glaring at her.
Zhu Zhanji, who was looking impatient, saw Shanxiang had packed up, so he quickly pushed Sun Ruowei aside and walked forward: "Let's go now that you've packed up."
"No, you have to explain clearly today. Do you have anything to do with Nie Xing's death?" Sun Ruowei stretched out her hands, blocking their path. Her stubborn expression turned complicated when she saw Miss Hu, whose head was just visible behind Zhu Zhanji. She couldn't help but say to Shanxiang, "Miss Hu, you better be careful. It's not safe to go out alone."
"Miss Hu is safe with me. Sun Ruowei, I've already told you that Nie Xing's situation has nothing to do with me. It was his bad luck that made him unable to cope. If anyone is to blame, it's only because he acted on his own initiative that night. He deserved to die."
Zhu Zhanji just felt unlucky. Today was such an important day, but the two of them came to block people early in the morning. Who would have known that the bastard who looked so tough died last night. It was really unlucky for him even if he died.
"You don't even believe what the Crown Prince said, do you? How could it be such a coincidence that Nie Xing died right after Jianwen's incident? Don't you think the timing of his death is too coincidental?"
Xu Bin said this almost explicitly. He felt that Nie Xing's death was not an accident but a human cause. As for the murderer, judging by the attitudes of the two men, it was obvious that they had already identified him.
"Can you use trickery to deal with matters of life and death? If I really wanted to kill him, could you possibly stop me?"
Zhu Zhanji grabbed Hu Shanxiang's hand and waved away Sun Ruowei who was blocking his way: "A good dog doesn't block the road. I'm happy today and I don't want to bother with you."
Xu Bin quickly caught it. Seeing that Sun Ruowei was about to rush over, he quickly grabbed her wrist and said, "Forget it. We have no evidence. He won't admit it."
What's more, Xu Bin remembered the man's previous warning. He couldn't let Ruo Wei anger him again. They no longer had any bargaining chips.
Hu Shanxiang was dragged all the way to the outside of the temple gate. Two Jinyiwei had already been waiting there with their horses. When they saw the two people coming, they bowed their heads and saluted and stepped aside.
Zhu Zhanji personally helped her onto the horse and teased her, "Won't you invite me to ride with you?"
Hu Shanxiang raised the reins and said, "If you keep talking nonsense, I won't wait for you." As soon as she finished speaking, the horse ran out.
He quickly jumped on his horse and followed. The two of them were so excited that they kept racing, one in front and the other behind, neither giving way to the other. When they reached the foot of the mountain, Shanxiang, who had started first, was one step faster. When Zhu Zhanji dismounted, Shanxiang was already standing on the mountain road not far away, smiling and waving to him.
The man hurried to catch up. Daqing was already sweating from running. "You look stronger than me, huh... I almost couldn't catch up."
"I've been used to walking these mountain roads since I was a child. Wudang Mountain is much steeper than this." Hu Shanxiang casually threw him a handkerchief. "Why are you in such a hurry? If you can't catch up, won't you call me to wait for you?"
"I can't keep asking you to wait. It's just a couple of steps." Zhu Zhanji smiled and held her handkerchief, not sure if he was talking about climbing a mountain or something else.
The two of them walked silently to the top of the mountain. It was still early, and there was still some time before sunrise. They calmly chose a good spot and sat side by side on a relatively flat stone.
"It seems like you're here early today. Are you hungry?"
Hu Shanxiang turned her head to hear him ask this and blinked: "It's okay. The main thing is that we are in the mountains now. Even if we get hungry, there is nothing we can do."
"That's not necessarily true." Zhu Zhanji smiled mysteriously, took out a packet of oil paper from his arms, opened it and saw four steaming meat buns wrapped inside.
This is really... unexpected.
Hu Shanxiang took one and saw that the fat in the meat had seeped into the skin of the round, plump bun, and she could faintly smell the aroma of the gravy. Needless to say, it was quite tempting.
She'd consumed quite a bit on the trip, and the smell of meat was making her hungry. She didn't hesitate, taking a bite of the greasy piece. The rich fat, the chewy meat filling, and the unique aroma of wheat flour were all gone in just a few bites. Before she could glance away, still unsatisfied, another one was passed to her.
"You eat too." Hu Shanxiang did not refuse the food. She took a bite and motioned Zhu Zhanji to eat too.
"Thirsty?"
The man didn't respond, but untied the wine bag on his waist with one hand and handed it to her mouth. He tilted his head and watched her eat it sweetly, and his eyes and brows softened.
