Ji Xia was startled when she was suddenly subdued.
She instinctively held her breath, and as soon as she moved her hands, two strong hands grabbed her arms from both sides.
Even more coincidentally, it was just as the train was about to pull into the station, and most of the passengers got up and busied themselves with packing their luggage.
Suddenly, two or three women appeared in front of and behind her, surrounding her, and no one noticed her unusual behavior.
Ji Xia held her breath, but her body went limp, and she slowly leaned against the middle-aged woman.
The woman was overjoyed and winked at her two companions. The three of them carried the luggage, put their arms around Ji Xia, and led her off the train with the flow of people.
After getting off the train, two strong hands grabbed Ji Xia's arm on one side and pulled her out by the other.
Ji Xia pretended to be dazed and leaned weakly against the woman, secretly reaching into her backpack with one hand and finding a short cone.
Three women escorted Ji Xia to the meeting point, where several men impatiently said, "Why are you taking so long? Hurry up—"
"Don't move—put down your luggage!"
Just as the group was about to leave, they suddenly heard a series of chaotic footsteps around them, which startled them.
Right now, while the others were still reeling from the shock, Ji Xia gripped the short cone in his hand and stabbed it fiercely into the woman's chest.
The woman screamed and involuntarily loosened her grip on Ji Xia's hand, then tightly gripped Ji Xia's wrist.
She glared at Ji Xia with a ferocious expression, then looked at the dozen or so men surrounding her. She steeled herself, pushed Ji Xia away forcefully, clutched her chest, and turned to run away.
Chen Jing kicked a man to the ground, then rushed behind the middle-aged woman, grabbed her hair, and pulled her back.
The woman screamed and fell to the ground against her will. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her companions being grabbed one by one.
Although she didn't know who the other person was, she recognized the man in the leather jacket at a glance and pleaded in a low voice, "Boss, we have no grudge against you, what are you doing?"
"No grudges or hatred? Do you think I don't know that you guys have been eyeing my woman all along?"
Chen Jing smiled sinisterly at the middle-aged woman, then kicked her several more times, sending her rolling on the ground, coughing up blood repeatedly, filled with regret.
Seeing that she had completely lost her fighting ability, Chen Jing turned around and pulled Ji Xia behind him.
"Boss, I'll take my woman back to the train first, and I'll be right back."
As Chen Jing spoke, he pulled Ji Xia up and shouted as he ran, "Run faster, the train is about to leave."
Ji Xia looked back at the direction of the train. The doors were slowly closing. Without bothering to ask any questions, she screamed and ran away.
Chen Jing followed behind, gave Chen Jun, who was close behind, a wink, and then handed over the cleanup work to his younger brother.
Chen Jing left without the man in the leather jacket suspecting anything. Back when Ji Xia was taken hostage, Chen Jing had been furious and demanded that the plan be brought forward. The man in the leather jacket and the others also knew about their relationship.
If Chen Jing hadn't shown up, his share would have been further reduced.
The man in the leather jacket gave his brother a wink, and the dozen or so men had just subdued the group of human traffickers.
Just as they succeeded, a group of heavily armed police officers appeared around them, and the three men Chen Jing brought also pulled out their guns at them.
"Raise your hands, crouch down, you are all surrounded."
In the blink of an eye, the two sides were caught red-handed, and everyone was arrested and brought to justice.
The man in the leather jacket confiscated all the money he had looted from the train and pursued its return. Meanwhile, the five or six women that another gang had drugged and transported on the train were rescued.
Chen Jing escorted Ji Xia back to the carriage. Ji Xia was still in shock and couldn't help but grab Chen Jing's hand tightly.
Throughout the journey, she remained highly vigilant and on guard, yet she still managed to find an opportunity to fall into her trap.
Chen Jing patted her shoulder: "Don't worry, I'll be watching over you. We were keeping an eye on you when you were arrested."
Ji Xia secretly breathed a sigh of relief: "Were you discussing this with Chen Jun last night?"
"Um."
Chen Jing responded and then explained in a low voice, "Actually, I don't necessarily want to punish the hero, but that old woman shouldn't have tried to take advantage of you."
"I'm standing guard here, and they still dare to openly stare at you, waiting for you to be alone. If I don't teach them a lesson, they'll think I'm made of clay!"
"Of course, if I hadn't seen Lao Si, I could only have beaten that woman up from behind. Now that Lao Si is here, we should at least keep this scum around."
Chen Jing explained in a low voice, and Ji Xia finally understood what had happened, secretly applauding him.
She returned to the carriage and saw Wang Luoran inside. She asked suspiciously, "I told Wang Luoran to call the police, why hasn't she reacted at all?"
Chen Jing shook his head: "There are only two or three train police officers, which is insufficient. Lao Si and his team only sent four or five people this time. The rest were all reinforcements sent later."
As luck would have it, two of the leather-clad man's henchmen from last night were familiar with the human traffickers' slang. They overheard them planning to get off the train in the morning, so they discussed with Chen Jing about getting off the train and ambushing them.
Chen Jing quickly told Chen Jun about the plan, then asked the local police for support. After they had double-crossed each other, they then wrapped up the dumplings in the back.
Back in my seat, the passengers next to me had changed again.
Wang Luoran asked them with concern where they had been for breakfast, and Chen Jing chuckled and changed the subject.
Because of the ambush to apprehend the gang, the train was delayed by two hours at the small station.
Just as they were about to drive off, the young woman in the back seat returned looking dejected.
She paused as she passed Ji Xia's seat, then returned to her seat behind her.
When Wang Luoran saw her return, he was surprised and thought she had been in trouble.
He asked her curiously, and the young woman shook her head uneasily. After a while, she turned around and thanked Ji Xia and Chen Jing.
Ji Xia raised an eyebrow: "Thank me? Why are you thanking me?"
"My name is Xie Zhihui."
Xie Zhihui glanced at Ji Xia discreetly: "You knew yesterday that woman was suspicious, didn't you? It's a pity I didn't understand your hint."
Ji Xia chuckled, not taking credit, and pointed at Wang Luoran: "If you want to thank someone, you should thank him. When you didn't come back yesterday, he noticed something was wrong and immediately went to the train police to report it."
Xie Zhihui was taken aback upon hearing this, and quickly turned around to thank Wang Luoran.
Wang Luoran quickly waved her hand: "No, no, she reminded me to call the police. She suspected that the woman was not right from the start."
As they were talking, Chen Jun strode into the carriage with a man, and after looking around, he finally saw Chen Jing.
He walked excitedly up to them: "Third Brother, you're still here? Our leader wants to see you, I'll take you there."
Chen Jing raised an eyebrow upon hearing this: "The train is about to leave. I'm going to the capital with your sister-in-law. Just let me know if you need anything."
Upon hearing this, Chen Jun couldn't help but sigh: "Third Brother, you've done a great service, you'll be rewarded."
