Chapter 9 Her Love Is Growing Wild

Chapter 9 Her Love Is Growing Wild

After Chu Chu left, Shen Zhen looked up and met a pair of dark, deep eyes, and her heart skipped a beat.

Yu Shuwen held the food box expressionlessly, looking at her with her handsome eyebrows slightly furrowed. She said with a half-smile, "I didn't know I had paid to hire a nutrition expert."

Shen Zhen opened her mouth but said nothing, inwardly thinking, "I can't possibly say I'm your kept canary, can I? Wouldn't it be embarrassing to say I'm a kept canary like this?"

Yu Shu opened the food box, paused slightly, and her gloomy mood vanished instantly, a faint smile appearing on her lips. Inside were all her favorite dishes; Shen Zhen remembered them all, a fact that warmed her heart.

Yu Shu went to the lounge to get bowls and chopsticks for Shen Zhen, and casually said, "Let's eat something together."

Shen Zhen nodded obediently; in fact, she had already eaten. But she knew that Yu Shu had a bad habit of not liking to eat alone and always preferred to eat with someone.

Shen Zhen held the bowl and looked at Yu Shu across from her. Remembering what Zhang Ma had said, she carefully considered her words before speaking, "A Shu, you... I mean, how were you during those four years?"

Yu Shu paused in her eating, but didn't answer. She simply said, "What? You've finally thought of caring about me?"

Shen Zhen hugged the bowl so tightly her face was almost buried in it, and whispered, "I... no matter what, I hope you're alright."

Yu Shu said calmly, "No, those four years were not good at all. You probably don't know how much I hated your heartlessness back then, saying you loved me, and then turning around and abandoning me. Shen Zhen, you are truly cruel."

Shen Zhen froze, no longer daring to speak, and silently began to eat her meal, holding her bowl intently. It was true that he had abandoned her back then; even if she could do it all over again, she would still choose to use the money to save Tuantuan. She had no way to deny it. Besides, Shen Zhen couldn't bring herself to speak. She still remembered the look of disgust in Grandpa Yu Shu's eyes; he hated that she had led his granddaughter astray, making her fall in love with girls.

Sunlight fell on Shen Zhen's long eyelashes, and her always bright eyes were now focused and serious. Her soft, rosy lips moved slightly, and for some reason, Yu Shu felt a little thirsty. She had to admit that her resentment was nothing compared to the satisfaction and warmth of having Shen Zhen by her side.

"Zhenzhen." The voice was deep, gentle, and tender, as if it had been carefully savored between the lips and teeth before being uttered.

Shen Zhen looked up blankly, holding the bowl, and soft fingertips immediately touched the corner of her lips, slowly moving and pressing.

Yu Shu leaned slightly to the side, her movements gentle, her eyes tender and earnest, as if the person in front of her was her beloved.

Everything around her froze. Shen Zhen tried to stop herself from overthinking, but her heart was pounding uncontrollably. Her ears were already flushed red, and she secretly clenched her chopsticks. She stammered, "Wh...what's wrong?"

Yu Shu's gaze was deep, and she casually withdrew her hand. "It's nothing, just a grain of rice on my lips."

Shen Zhen immediately grabbed a tissue from the side and quickly wiped her lips. "Th...thank you, I can do it myself."

Yu Shu is still the same as before, flirting without even realizing it! Shen Zhen cursed herself inwardly, blushing even while wiping her mouth, so useless!

Yu Shu stared at Shen Zhen's lips, which were getting redder and redder as she wiped them, his eyes darkening with amusement as he kept his eyes fixed on her.

An ambiguous atmosphere hung in the air. Shen Zhen dared not look directly into her eyes, nervously rising to clear the table, and was about to leave with the bowl in her arms when someone pulled her waist tightly, pulling her down into a familiar embrace. A barrage of kisses rained down on her. The air in her mouth was stolen, and the things in her hands were taken away without her noticing.

Shen Zhen forgot to struggle and obediently slumped into Yu Shu's arms, her hands helplessly clutching the clothes at her side.

After a long while, Yu Shu finally released Chen Zhen, whose eyes were filled with tears. He gently rubbed the corners of her red and moist eyes with his fingertips, his voice noticeably hoarse, "What are we going to do this afternoon?"

Shen Zhen steadied herself and said, "We'll go to the hospital to see Grandma later, and then pick Tuantuan up when it's time."

Yu Shu gently rubbed the soft flesh around her waist. "I'll have the driver go with you. Call me if anything happens."

"good."

Yu Shu continued, "I'm not going home for dinner tonight, so don't wait for me."

Shen Zhen paused, a pang of sadness in her heart. Where would they eat? What would they do after they finished eating? What was Yu Shu's relationship with that woman?

Despite the turmoil in her mind, Shen Zhen dared not show it, and could only constantly remind herself to recognize her place and tell herself that she had no right to ask!

Shen Zhen composed herself and obediently replied, "Okay, come back soon."

Yu Shu gently ruffled her hair, her eyes smiling. "So good!"

Shen Zhen: "..."

They really do treat her like a pet.

In the hospital.

Shen Zhen carefully wiped her grandmother's body and chatted with her.

Grandma was so thin from her illness that she held Chen Zhen's hand weakly, tears welling in her cloudy eyes. "Zhenzhen, it's this old woman who's dragging you down."

Shen Zhen held her thin, bony hand tightly and whispered comfortingly, "Grandma, you are my dearest person. How can you say I'm a burden? When I was little, you bought me delicious food and new clothes. Later, when I grew up, you raised money for me to go to university. You see, you've never considered me a burden."

Grandma sighed, "Zhenzhen, if Grandma passes away, don't blame your mother. It's my fault for not raising her well."

Shen Zhen's eyes were slightly red. She leaned against her grandmother and said in a muffled voice, "Grandma, don't say anymore. I just found a new job. The boss is very nice and gave me a large advance on my salary. Let's not think about anything else now, let's just focus on getting medical treatment."

Grandma was constantly worrying about her mother, Chen Lin. And Chen Lin? She never visited her grandmother after she fell ill, and even wished for her grandmother's early death. Her grandmother was her mother, and Chen Lin was also a mother, but mothers are ultimately different. Chen Lin only cared about her brother, Shen Huai; she and Shen Wan were merely tools for her brother's happiness.

Grandma reached out her trembling hand and stroked Chen Zhen's soft hair. "Zhenzhen, don't blame Grandma for having selfish motives. Grandma is more afraid that after I'm gone, there will only be you and Tuantuan left. Wanwan has run off somewhere. You've suffered so much these past years. I want you not to hate your mother because I hope you can have a relative by your side!"

Shen Zhen shook her head desperately, pleading with a sob in her voice, "Grandma, please don't say anymore, please don't say anymore. Zhenzhen promises you, I won't hate anyone."

Grandma put her arm around Chen Zhen's thin shoulders and patted her gently, just like when she was a child and she would coax her to sleep. "My Zhenzhen, you are always so sensible, so sensible that it breaks my heart."

Shen Zhen's eyes were already wet. A child who is not loved has no right to be willful!

Shen Zhen didn't notice that someone had been standing outside the ward for a long time, his calm eyes fixed on her slender back, while his slightly trembling fingertips betrayed his hidden thoughts.

Yu Shu hates Shen Zhen's ruthlessness four years ago, and hates her current clarity of mind, yet she cannot stop wanting to love her. Some say love fades with time, but her love grows wildly day by day.

Yu Shu silently withdrew, her heart heavy with a tightness. Shen Zhen had left her all those years ago for her grandmother and Tuan Tuan. And now? She still couldn't rely on her? A sense of powerlessness welled up from the bottom of her heart. Her Zhen Zhen, she wished she could be a little more willful, a little more unrestrained.
