Chapter 100 The Old Man Succumbs to Money and Authority

As the car slowly drove to the Gu family's old residence, Shen Zhen grew increasingly nervous, constantly asking Yu Shu, "What if Grandpa turns against me? What if Grandpa gives her tens of millions to make her leave? What if Grandpa sets his dogs on her?"

Gu Yushu parked the car, listened attentively with a smile, and raised an eyebrow at Shen Zhen, "So what? If I gave you tens of millions, would you leave me?"

Shen Zhen's face scrunched up as she thought seriously, "So much money! Oh no, I'm a little tempted..."

Gu Yushu gently ruffled her hair, his eyes tender. "Silly girl, you're married to me now, what's mine is yours. I can give you much more than that old man. Can't you do math?"

Shen Zhen grabbed Gu Yushu's collar, leaned in, and gave him a hard kiss on the lips, "Mwah~"

"Then what can I give you, sister?" Shen Zhen's lips parted slightly, her eyes sparkling, and she breathed softly.

Their breaths mingled, and Gu Yushu reached out and gently rubbed the corner of her sparkling eyes, saying softly, "You just need to be by my side, shining brightly in the world you love."

Shen Zhen's heart skipped a beat, and she involuntarily snuggled closer to Yu Shu, whimpering, "Yu Shu, you're so good to me, even if your grandfather hits or scolds me, I won't leave. I'm sticking with you."

Gu Yushu let her whine, "Mmm! You can be lazy!"

Gu Yushu had actually drafted the property transfer agreement before the marriage. Most of her real estate and shares would be transferred to Shen Zhen's name after the marriage. She wanted to give Shen Zhen a sense of security in every aspect.

Shen Zhen knew nothing of this, and she didn't want to burden her. She did all this just in case; if one day she were to pass away before Shen Zhen, at least she could live a comfortable life without worry. When Yu Shu decided to keep Shen Zhen by her side, she thought about so many things. She should give her happiness.

After lingering for a while, Shen Zhen insisted on carrying the gifts inside herself. Since Grandpa Gu loved tea, Shen Zhen specially bought a set of fine tea utensils, learned tea-brewing techniques, and made tea cakes by hand, hoping to please him.

When the two entered, Old Master Gu was writing calligraphy in his study. Upon hearing that Yu Shu had returned, he immediately dropped his brush and hurried downstairs. At the corner, he saw the girl standing beside Gu Yu Shu. Gu Hua's face instantly darkened, and he lifted his Chinese-style outer robe and sat down.

"Xiao Shu, what do you mean by this?" Gu Hua asked with a stern face and deep sorrow.

This granddaughter is exceptionally intelligent and a perfect successor. Who would have thought she'd be so disappointing, falling for some woman! I wonder what kind of spell this woman has cast on her! Gu Hua grew angrier the more he thought about it!

Gu Yushu shielded Shen Zhen and raised an eyebrow at Gu Hua, "Grandpa, Zhenzhen and I have already registered our marriage abroad. It's been so long, you should have thought it through by now."

Shen Zhen took out the tea set at the right moment and said obediently, "Grandpa, this is a gift for you. I hope you like it."

Old Master Gu glanced at the gift's packaging and scoffed, "They really went all out; it's obviously a top-quality antique bought at an auction." He felt a slight sense of satisfaction, but his words still wouldn't let it go.

"Hmph! You're quite the plan, getting your marriage certificate so quietly!"

Gu Hua continued angrily, "President Gu, you're really something! Using Gu's resources to support a woman, investing in her book publishing, setting up her studio, and giving her projects. I bet one day when you're in a good mood, Gu's will be surnamed Shen!"

Shen Zhen looked at Yu Shu in shock. No wonder her writing had flopped so badly that she was practically unknown. How could someone invest in her? And transfer the money so quickly! It was Yu Shu! It was all her fault!

Gu Yushu gripped Shen Zhen's hand tightly, a cold smile playing on his lips. Watching Old Master Gu's outburst, he said lightly, "Grandpa, the overseas cooperation project has been finalized, and they approve of me. If you really can't accept it, I won't force you. I can take this project and go out on my own. I won't take advantage of you. Is that alright?"

Old Master Gu stood there, gripping his cane, stunned. The Gu family was currently being held together by Yu Shu; among the younger generation, there was no one he could rely on. If Yu Shu were to leave, those covetous collateral relatives would surely try to take advantage. He absolutely would not allow the empire he had built to be touched by others!

Grandpa Gu stood up awkwardly, picked up the tea set, and said, "Well, it's the Mid-Autumn Festival today, let's celebrate first, and we can talk about other things later."

Shen Zhen stared in shock at Old Master Gu's retreating figure, stammering, "A-Shu, does this... does this mean I've successfully met the parents?"

Gu Yushu put his arm around her shoulder and whispered in her ear, "I don't object! We'll pick a date to hold the wedding after the Mid-Autumn Festival!"

In fact, Gu Yushu had already analyzed the pros and cons with Old Master Gu beforehand. Bringing the person directly to her home this time was merely a reaffirmation of her resolve. Having extinguished Old Master Gu's desire for a marriage alliance, Gu Yushu would never do anything to hurt Zhenzhen.

Shen Zhen felt a sense of unreality and pinched Yu Shu's waist hard.

Gu Yushu clicked her tongue in pain and scolded, "Be gentle!"

Shen Zhen chuckled twice, "I can hardly believe it. Let me pinch you and see if it hurts and wakes you up. I'm afraid I'm dreaming."

Shen Zhen was overjoyed at Old Master Gu's approval and kept grinning foolishly at Gu Yushu.

After lunch, Shen Zhen volunteered to help Grandpa Gu tidy the garden. Shen Zhen had a sweet tongue, calling him "Grandpa" this and "Grandpa" that, making it difficult for Grandpa Gu to give her a cold shoulder. With Gu Yushu watching, Gu Hua dared not make any small moves. She didn't dare truly hurt Gu Yushu's feelings; after all, he was her granddaughter, wasn't he?

After tidying up the garden, Shen Zhen took the initiative to exchange tea skills with Gu Hua, making the old man very happy. Usually, none of his younger relatives wanted to listen to his rambling about tea, but today, having met someone knowledgeable, the old man Gu felt as if he had found a kindred spirit, and wished he could take Shen Zhen as his last disciple on the spot.

If Gu Yin and Chu Chu hadn't come over, Grandpa Gu would have insisted on talking to Shen Zhen for a while longer.

Upon seeing this harmonious scene, Gu Yin immediately joked, "Oh, Zhenzhen has won over another great general in our family!"

Old Master Gu twitched his beard. "No respect for elders, you don't even call me 'Father' anymore?" He wasn't subdued by this little brat at all; he succumbed to money and authority!

Gu Yin nudged her daughter and whispered, "Sigh, my dear daughter, she even managed to win over your grandfather, the most difficult man in the world. Mom really can't help you anymore. You should find someone else you like!"

Chu Chu tossed her hair, a figure flashing through her mind. Did she like him? She couldn't say for sure, but maybe she could give it a try?
