Chapter 119 Loving You, Day and Night

Chapter 119 Loving You, Day and Night

Gu Yushu lit the large fireworks in the courtyard, walked to Shen Zhen's side, and hugged her tightly.

Large bursts of fireworks exploded overhead, their dazzling, multicolored light blooming like flowers, each shimmering with unique colors and brilliance. They intertwined and twinkled in the night sky, like a grand feast of light and color. The fireworks didn't disappear immediately after their bursts; instead, they trailed long tails as they slowly descended the sky. These tails, like shooting stars, left behind dazzling, shimmering trails.

Shen Zhen tilted her head back and stared intently at the sky, a gentle smile on her lips. The interplay of light and shadow on her face made her look somewhat unreal.

Gu Yushu looked down at the person in his arms, twisting her hair in circles with his fingers. After a long while, he slowly said, "Zhenzhen, we will spend every year together from now on."

A warm feeling welled up in her heart, and memories of their reunion flashed through Shen Zhen's mind. Her A-Shu must have loved her terribly, right? No matter what they had been through, she always wanted to keep her by her side and be with her.

Shen Zhen turned around and snuggled into Gu Yushu's arms, wrapped her arms around her neck, stood on tiptoe and kissed her, "Ashu, I love you, day and night."

Gu Yushu carried Shen Zhen all the way from the courtyard to the house, kissing her as he went. He placed her on the warm carpet. Shen Zhen's eyes were red and filled with tears.

“Ashu…Ashu…”

...

After the New Year, Shen Zhen prepared to bring Tuan Tuan home, but Gu Yushu had something to do at the company, so Shen Zhen went to pick up Tuan Tuan alone.

In the backyard of the Gu family's old house, an old man and a child are playing chess.

Tuantuan's little eyebrows furrowed as she pondered her next move in the game. Grandpa Gu sipped his tea, a book in his hand, and watched her with amusement, occasionally urging, "Tuantuan, hurry up!"

Tuantuan glared angrily at the book in the old man's hand and complained, "Grandpa, you look down on me! I don't want to play with you anymore!"

Old Master Gu raised an eyebrow, took a leisurely sip of tea, and said slowly, "Where have I looked down on you?"

Tuantuan threw down the chess piece in her hand, jumped off the chair, and pointed at his book and teacup with her little hand, "Look at you! You're trying to do three things at once while playing chess! You're driving me crazy!"

Tuantuan's precocious appearance made Grandpa Gu beam with joy. When he was young, he was working hard outside, and his son and daughter seemed to grow up all of a sudden. Later, he went abroad and missed the growth of his granddaughter and grandson.

Grandpa Gu experienced the joy of teasing children for the first time, and his resolve strengthened even further to give Yu Shu and Shen Zhensheng one of them, no matter what. He had consulted with foreign experts and was certain it was entirely feasible.

"Grandpa." Shen Zhen approached the two of them carrying flowers, casually placed them in an empty vase next to her, and said with a smile, "I've come to pick Tuantuan up and take her home."

"Hmm." Grandpa Gu nodded and pointed to Tuantuan. "Tuantuan, go play over there for a bit. Grandpa and Mom have a few words to say."

"Okay!" Tuantuan nodded sensibly, then looked at Grandpa Gu with concern, her little face scrunched up, and she carefully said, "Grandpa, then you mustn't bully my mom!"

Grandpa Gu couldn't help but laugh out loud. Although this little girl was born to Shen Wansheng, she had a spirit very much like someone from the Gu family, and he liked her very much.

Grandpa Gu pinched the little boy's cheek. "Go ahead, don't worry, I won't bully your mother!"

Tuantuan then walked away, turning back every few steps, occasionally glancing up in this direction.

Looking at Tuantuan's concerned face, Grandpa Gu said to Shen Zhen, "I heard that you raised Tuantuan?"

Shen Zhen was taken aback, not expecting Grandpa Gu to ask this. She nodded, puzzled, "Yes, Tuantuan is very sensible."

Grandpa Gu pointed to the chair opposite him and said expressionlessly, "Sit down. You've taught that child very well."

Shen Zhen didn't speak; she was somewhat confused about what Old Master Gu was trying to do.

Grandpa Gu looked in Tuantuan's direction and said calmly, "Ashu likes you very much, and I don't want to stop you from being together, nor can I. Sigh, I apologize for what I did to you in the past."

An old, deep voice rang in Shen Zhen's ears, startling her. She hadn't expected her aloof grandfather to say such things to her, and immediately respectfully filled his teacup. "Grandpa, please don't say such things. We are family."

Grandpa Gu gently stroked the teacup in his hand, and a faint smile gradually appeared on his wrinkled face.

He looked up at Shen Zhen sitting opposite him, his eyes shining with wisdom and kindness, and said softly, "Child, now that we are family, Grandpa would like to say a few words from the heart to you, is that alright?"

Upon hearing this, Shen Zhen nodded vigorously and replied firmly, "Grandpa, of course, please tell me."

Grandpa Gu patted Shen Zhen's arm. "You're a good girl, and Grandpa doesn't want to interfere with your decisions. But Zhenzhen, can you understand how Grandpa wants Ashu to have his own child? Ashu has done so much for you—your books, your studio—none of them can be done without her help. Technology is very advanced abroad now, and Grandpa just wants you to have your own child."

Shen Zhen froze, stunned. She hadn't expected the old man to ask for this. If she could, she would be willing. She was also looking forward to their child.

In an instant, Shen Zhen smiled and said to Grandpa Gu, "Grandpa, if the technology allows, I am willing."

Tears welled up in Grandpa Gu's eyes, and he said in a trembling voice, "Alright, alright! Grandpa will find you the best doctor!"

At dinner, Grandpa Gu was all smiles, constantly calling for Shen Zhen and Tuan Tuan to eat. This made Yang Jia, who felt neglected, very uncomfortable. What was wrong with the old man? He ignored his own grandsons and instead cared about outsiders!

Gu Yuhan has always been raised by Yang Jia and has been arrogant since childhood. Old Master Gu looks down on his son and grandson from the bottom of his heart. Now that Shen Zhen is willing to have a child with Yu Shu, is there any fear that the Gu family will not have a successor in the future?

Grandpa Gu couldn't contain his joy at the thought! Yes! He needed to protect Shen Zhen and Tuan Tuan during this time, lest anyone try anything again. His precious granddaughter almost lost her life back then!

Lying in bed that night, Shen Zhen started searching for information about pregnancy online. She wasn't just trying to fulfill Grandpa Gu's wish; she genuinely wanted to have a child with Ashu.

When Gu Yushu returned home that evening, Tuantuan quietly told her what had happened during the day. She was stunned for a moment, not expecting that her grandfather had gone directly to Zhenzhen; she didn't want Zhenzhen to feel pressured.
