Chapter 92 Nothing in the world can compare to her
Shen Zhen woke up in the morning with aches and pains all over her body. She vowed never to wear clothes carelessly again. This time, she truly understood what it meant to shoot herself in the foot.
When Shen Zhen got dressed and came downstairs, Gu Yushu had already prepared breakfast: steaming hot porridge, along with simple steamed buns and fried dumplings, all of which were Shen Zhen's favorites.
Shen Zhen felt a warmth in her heart as she watched Yu Shu bustling about. The refrigerator was empty yesterday, but this morning it was full of food. See? People who love you will always find ways to warm your stomach, and in doing so, your heart.
The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains and onto the dining table, creating dappled patterns of light and shadow.
Shen Zhen gently pulled out a chair and gracefully sat down opposite Gu Yushu, her eyes and brows radiating a happy smile.
"Ah Shu, what should I do? I find myself becoming more and more dependent on you." Shen Zhen said softly, her eyes filled with deep affection.
Gu Yushu's lips curled into a slightly indulgent smile. She reached out and gently pinched Chen Zhen's delicate nose, responding tenderly, "Then let's never leave, okay?"
Shen Zhen winked mischievously, then took a big bite of the bun, her cheeks bulging as she chewed.
She mumbled indistinctly, "Hmph! You think you can trap me with just this breakfast? Dream on! I'll have to wait and see how you behave from here on out!"
Gu Yushu wasn't angry. She lowered her eyes and watched Shen Zhen enjoy the food, feeling very satisfied. She said softly, "Okay! Don't worry, I will definitely try my best to make my darling rely on me even more and be inseparable from me!"
Shen Zhen tilted her head and looked at the person in front of her. Their eyes met, and they saw only each other. Everything around them lost its color, except for the clean and refreshing face of the person in front of her. Shen Zhen saw herself in Yu Shu's eyes, small and gentle, with a tenderness and shyness she had never seen before.
After breakfast, Shen Zhen kept smiling at Yu Shu while Yu Shu went to her study to work, and she waited quietly by her side. She had missed her so much that she had come running over. With her beloved by her side, what could be happier than this?
Gu Yushu had stolen countless glances at Shen Zhen, but finally, unable to resist any longer, he put down his pen, beckoned to Zhen Zhen who was not far away, and said in a low, husky voice, "Zhen Zhen, come here."
Shen Zhen didn't feel embarrassed about being caught peeking. She gracefully got up and walked to Gu Yushu's side, straddling him with her legs apart. Her delicate lips breathed sweetly, and her eyes were filled with infatuation and adoration.
"Ah Shu, you're so charming when you're working! I think I love you even more now."
Upon hearing this, Gu Yushu let out a burst of laughter from his chest, and fearing that she would fall off his lap, he hugged her tightly around the waist, saying, "You're making me lose focus on my work."
Shen Zhen immediately laughed and tilted her head back, saying coquettishly, "A-Shu, stop fooling around!"
Gu Yushu wanted to tease her a little longer, but Chu Pei called, "Mr. Gu, the car is already at the door."
"Got it." Gu Yushu hung up the phone without hesitation. This single guy ruined the mood! He'd have to give him a good talking-to when he got back!
After hanging up the phone, Gu Yushu kissed Shen Zhen's slender neck even more unrestrainedly.
Shen Zhen laughed as she pushed him away, but her voice gradually broke, "Ah...Ah Shu...No...Chu Pei is waiting for you outside..."
Gu Yushu scooped Shen Zhen up and placed her on the desk. He pulled out the velvet pen he had brought with him the night before from somewhere, a sly glint in his eyes, and chuckled, "Zhenzhen, you delivered yourself to my door. Don't you think it's a little too late to say no now?"
Before Shen Zhen fainted, all she could think was that she had to go back immediately! Couldn't they let her stay any longer?!
After Gu Yushu helped Shen Zhen clean up and settled her in, he went out with Chu Pei. They had one last important contract to discuss today, and the ring they had ordered earlier would arrive afterward.
When Shen Zhen woke up, she saw a message left by Gu Yushu. Gu Yushu was going to a banquet that evening and told Shen Zhen to wait at home, or to contact her to come over together. She left the address and invitation to the banquet.

The man rambled on and on, and Shen Zhen forced herself to try to understand, managing to glean only fragments of information: fire, Chinese woman, casualties.
Shen Zhen's heart clenched, her eyes glazed over, as she stubbornly dialed Gu Yushu's number again and again. She couldn't believe it, she couldn't believe it—her A-Shu was perfectly fine when she left. She'd come to pick her up, she should come out!
Shen Zhen stared at the banquet hall engulfed in flames, her eyes losing all color. She was fixated on the flickering flames, despair spreading through her. No! She had to go in and find her!
Shen Zhen closed her eyes, desperately trying to rush inside.
Suddenly, someone grabbed her arm, and a familiar, cool fragrance wafted to her nose. "Zhenzhen, what do you want?"
Gu Yushu's anxious and nervous voice rang out behind her. After escaping from the fire scene, she wanted to go straight home, but the police kept asking her all sorts of questions, which prevented her from leaving for a long time.
Shen Zhen couldn't believe the voice behind her was real. She stiffened and slowly turned around. Seeing that concerned face, the light in Shen Zhen's eyes gradually gathered and regained its vitality. She couldn't help but throw herself into Yu Shu's arms.
"Where did you go? I thought... I thought you were dead!"
Shen Zhen slapped Yu Shu's waist with both hands and roared, "Your phone is off too! Do you know how worried I was?! Huh? I was just about to go with you!"
Gu Yushu let Shen Zhen cry freely in her arms, and coaxed her softly, "I'm sorry, it's my fault, my phone died. Be good, baby, don't cry."
Shen Zhen was truly terrified. When she heard that the Chinese woman had been killed or injured, it felt as if her very soul had been ripped out. She had only one thought: to go with her. Nothing in this world could compare to her!
