Chapter 5 Duel

Lu Manman thanked everyone and quickly synthesized a level 2 mecha. "How about we move on to the next mission?"

No one refused.

Another mission was completed thanks to Lu Manman's divine might, but the equipment dropped was still only level one and two fragments, and a few level three fragments.

Some found it unbelievable, while others found it amusing, but none of them strayed from the group.

After an unknown amount of time, the group arrived at the final checkpoint of Level 4.

The wise man sat to one side with practiced ease, and said, "Sunflower seeds in place, play the 'Overlord'!"

Lu Manman quickly finished the mission, and everyone was promoted to level five.

The crowd had mixed feelings. A red-haired mecha warrior sighed, "Level 5 already. I never thought I'd get to level 5 by just lying around all the way."

The wise man also said, "Yes, zero effort, zero reward, and I got a level 5 certificate for nothing."

Everyone was amazed by this bizarre experience.

A blue-haired mecha warrior said, "This all happened so fast, I didn't even have time to react. By the way, how did you manage to kill so many people with just a level two mecha, Overlord?"

Lu Manman blinked in confusion, "It's like the killing you saw."

The muscular man's unintentional display of girlish naiveté sent chills down the spines of everyone present, who rubbed their arms and said, "Master, please mind your image."

Lu Manman had obtained all the fragments for the level four quest and was in a good mood. Now, upon hearing this, she couldn't help but point to her nose and tilt her head, saying, "Great God, me?"

The crowd nodded in silence, wondering why they could always see the shyness of a young woman in such a burly man.

Unaware of his own ignorance, Lu Manman was overjoyed. "Since I'm a pro, do you need me to be your sparring partner? The price is negotiable."

Thinking about their experience at Level 4, everyone shook their heads in unison; they still wanted to upgrade their mechs.

Lu Manman was somewhat disappointed. "Do you know anyone who needs this? Introduce them to me."

Seeing this, the wise man asked, "Are you short of money?"

Lu Manman nodded, "We're desperately short of them."

"I see you're quite skilled. You could consider going to the underground dueling arena; there are prizes for winning there."

Before Lu Manman could say anything, the pharmacist exclaimed in surprise, "What? There's an underground dueling arena in the game?"

Lu Manman: ...You stole my lines.

“Of course, a place with mechs can’t be without mech battles,” the wise man continued, “but it requires level five to unlock, which is just right now.”

Lu Manman opened her page and found that there were indeed many new features, including a duel arena.

After greeting everyone, Lu Manman clicked on the link without saying a word. The scene in front of her changed to a huge building with the words "Interstellar Heroes Duel Arena" written on it.

Lu Manman stepped forward, where the rules were written at the entrance.

The registration system for fighters here is also simple and straightforward, ranging from one to ten levels. To advance to the next level, you must win 888 consecutive matches. You can also challenge opponents of higher levels. To advance one level, you need to win 88 consecutive matches, and to advance two levels, you need to win 8 consecutive matches. If you successfully advance to a higher level, your level will also increase to the corresponding level, but you can only advance two levels at most. The person who is advanced to a higher level will fall to the level of the person who advanced.

It's worth noting that, to prevent cheating, three-quarters of the duels are randomly matched by the system, while only one-quarter can be challenged by inviting others. Furthermore, the invited player also receives an invitation. Challenges against opponents of a higher level can only be matched randomly.

The way to get rewards is very simple. For each match you win, you can get 5 star coins for a level 1 duel, 50 star coins for a level 2 duel, 200 for level 3, 300 for level 4... 500 for level 6, 1000 for level 7, 2000 for level 8, and so on for level 9 and 10.

In addition, you can place bets based on your judgment, betting on whether you will win or lose.

However, the higher the level, the fewer people there are. High-level duels often attract huge traffic, and people will place bets, making many people a fortune.

Currently, most fighters are hovering around level three, for no other reason than that it's too difficult to maintain a winning streak.

Lu Manman walked up to the receptionist and, following her instructions, registered to become a fighter in the dueling arena.

The receptionist smiled sweetly and said, "Everything is settled. Begin your new journey." She then gestured with her hands toward the entrance.

As Lu Manman entered through the entrance, a tremendous roar assaulted her eardrums. Above were various dueling platforms where many mechs were battling, while below came the shouts of the audience, some cheering and some cursing.

Lu Manman looked thoughtfully at the display screen above her, which showed the Level 1 Duel Arena. Perhaps she should just challenge someone of a higher level since she was short of money.

Following the instructions, Lu Manman went up to the eleventh floor, which was the second-level duel arena. After looking around for a while, Lu Manman decisively went up to the twenty-first floor.

The number of dueling platforms in a Tier 3 arena is significantly less than that in Tier 1 and Tier 2 arenas.

Lu Manman walked through the excited audience and arrived at the Level 3 Fighter Management Station. It was a simple room with a huge screen displaying the names and images of many fighters.

Lu Manman walked straight to the administrator who was sitting at his desk drinking tea and reading the newspaper, and got straight to the point.

"I want to apply for a challenge that puts me in a higher level."

The administrator, a stunningly beautiful woman with a mature and sophisticated air, immediately closed her newspaper and praised, "Excellent, excellent, young and promising! Young and promising indeed. I wonder if you have any favorite rivals?"

Lu Manman shook her head. The administrator understood and chuckled, "It's useless even if you have it, because matches between higher-level players are all random. Alright, I'll start matching you randomly now. Shall we begin the duel now?"

"yes!"

Soon, Lu Manman was led by a waiter to the dueling arena on the 23rd floor. A red-haired boy stood on the dueling platform in the corner, his hands in his pockets, seemingly unaware of who his opponent was.

The name "Flaming Flames" perfectly describes him.

Lu Manman walked straight onto the stage. The young man looked him up and down with a scrutinizing gaze. His physique was not bad, and his biceps, which were about to burst out of his clothes, were the ideal of many men. But no matter what, he was just a level one rookie. This one was in the bag.

If he wins this match, he will become a Level 4 Fighter.

"This warrior is in trouble. His strength is obvious to all. He is a newly popular fighter and will soon reach level four."

"What's wrong with this game? The crucial battle for level four has matched him with a level one challenger. Isn't this just sending kills to Liehuoru?"

"Haven't you noticed that Liehuo Rufa has always been lucky? Although he seems to be quite strong, his opponents are always relatively weak, like this time."

After thinking for a moment, everyone nodded and then silently placed their bets on Fiery Hair.
