"Feng Qi?" Jiang Zheyu looked at the person in front of him in surprise.
"Why are you so surprised?" Feng Qi's calm gaze fell on her brown eyes.
"No, I just didn't expect to run into you here," Jiang Zheyu said after a pause.
Upon hearing this, Feng Qi did not reply. As if sensing something, he calmly turned his gaze to the front.
Jiang Zheyu subconsciously followed his gaze.
The calm ground began to crack. Against the backdrop of bustling skyscrapers, a pair of huge, thin white wings seemed to have shattered the ground, rising from the ground and causing the ground to tremble continuously. Pieces of stone and rock kept breaking off from where the wings had spread and crashing to the ground.
A huge, black worm with thin wings slowly took flight.
"Action." Feng Qi's long, cold fingers pressed against the black earpiece beside his ear, his dark eyes falling coldly on the flying insect.
His other hand was still holding Jiang Zheyu's hand.
The giant flying insect, which had been flying halfway, paused for a moment. In that instant, laser lines shot out from all directions, forming a huge net of light that enveloped the insect.
Orcs in black military uniforms rushed out from all directions, their laser guns striking the flying insects with powerful force.
The giant flying insect's white wings were immediately pierced with multiple holes by the laser, and it began to tremble even more violently.
Jiang Zheyu could see that after the insects flapped their wings violently, the beastmen suddenly seemed to become unsteady while holding their laser guns, and their bodies swayed slightly.
"No good. It seems you'll need to strengthen your Zerg mind resistance training when you get back." Feng Qi simply pressed his fingers lightly against his earpiece, his voice nonchalant.
Those beastmen whose mental strength was unstable seemed to snap out of their daze the moment Feng Qi finished speaking, and they gripped their pistols more vigilantly.
Jiang Zheyu, standing nearby, could feel Feng Qi's immense spiritual power enveloping the entire area.
This also included the area surrounding Jiang Zheyu, which is why she was not affected by the Zerg's mental power.
Feng Qi had already shielded her from most of the Zerg's mental attacks.
Soon, the massive beam of light struck the Zerg and exploded.
One of the insect's white wings, which was still struggling violently, was instantly blasted away by the light cannon.
The insect grew many tentacles and desperately tried to push away the light, but to no avail.
"Are you scared?" Feng Qi tilted his head slightly toward Jiang Zheyu, his fine black hair brushing against his forehead. His soft, gentle voice said, "Don't be scared, it's just an A+ level insect."
The last, long, enormous laser beam pierced the black worm's body like a beam of light, then suddenly exploded, sending blood and fragments flying out like the laser itself.
"See, it's gone." Feng Qi's voice, filled with a gentle laugh, reached Jiang Zheyu's ears.
Several orcs in black military uniforms, who were dealing with the corpses of battlefield insects and preventing the eggs from remaining, looked at each other and saw the disbelief in each other's eyes.
Captain Qi, did you forget to turn off your mic?
Is that gentle, coaxing voice really their Captain Qi?
Although Captain Qi usually speaks to them with a smile, there's always a chilling undercurrent of malice and a sarcastic tone that's infuriating.
The orcs all wore expressions of utter disbelief.
However, no one dared to speak up and pretended not to know, and continued to clean up the scene.
Jiang Zheyu had read various popular science articles about the Zerg on the StarNet and had also seen videos of mechs fighting against the Zerg, so he was somewhat prepared.
Moreover, she actually thought that the light cannons exploding like sparks and silver trees were quite beautiful, which actually blocked out the bloodshed.
"It's alright." Jiang Zheyu blinked gently and replied to Feng Qi.
A tall figure strode quickly towards them from a distance.
As the darkness deepened, the person's face became clearer; it was Su Yan.
Feng Qi naturally saw Su Yan walking over and said softly, "You came so quickly."
Jiang Zeyu wanted to walk towards Su Yan, but found that her hand was still being held by Feng Qi.
She subconsciously turned to look at Feng Qi and shook her arm slightly: "Captain Qi, please let go of my arm."
Feng Qi lowered his eyelids slightly, his dark eyes revealing an inscrutable emotion.
He saw the girl walk straight towards another man without even glancing at him, and a feeling of jealousy welled up inside him.
Jiang Zheyu was still looking at him, her amber eyes seemingly reflecting the stars in the sky, beautiful and enchanting beyond compare.
Feng Qi slightly tightened his grip on Jiang Zheyu's hand and just looked at her.
The night wind, though not blowing directly, still managed to ruffle the girl's hair slightly, with some playful strands of black hair brushing against her fair, jade-like face.
Under Jiang Zheyu's gradually growing questioning gaze, Feng Qi's eyes lightly fell on her, and he softly asked, "Jiang Yuyu, when are you going to invite me for coffee?"
Jiang Zheyu paused slightly, and unexpectedly, after a moment of silence, he uttered these words.
"Tomorrow?" Jiang Zheyu didn't like owing favors to others.
It would be best to repay the favors as soon as possible.
"Okay." Feng Qi raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Yu Yu." Su Yan had already run to Jiang Zheyu's side, pressed her shoulder and turned her to face him, looking at Jiang Zheyu worriedly to see if she was injured.
"Ayan, I'm fine now." Jiang Zheyu smiled reassuringly at him.
“Commander Su, how could you let the female come out alone? What if she ran into bad guys instead of me?” Feng Qi silently turned off the slightly agitated sound in his earpiece and looked at Su Yan in a lazy and casual manner.
Su Yan merely glanced at him, not wanting to say anything more, and instead looked at Jiang Zheyu with a gentle gaze.
"Yuyu, let's go home first." Su Yan patted Jiang Zheyu's head.
"Captain, the scene has been cleared. Shall we proceed to patrol Sector D now?" At this moment, an orc in black military uniform jogged up to Feng Qi and asked.
"Jiang Yuyu." Feng Qi looked at Jiang Zheyu first. When Jiang Zheyu looked over, he raised his personal terminal slightly and smiled faintly. "Jiang Yuyu, I can meet at any time tomorrow. Remember to contact me via personal terminal."
Jiang Zheyu nodded silently: "Okay."
"Captain, aren't you going to AJ455 star tomorrow?" the soldier-orc next to him asked quietly, puzzled.
"I'm going on a date tomorrow, so I'm obviously not going to see that star." Feng Qi strode away with his long legs.
The orc glanced at Jiang Zheyu cautiously and silently, then quickly followed the captain away.
The captain actually has a female he likes! And that female is really beautiful! No wonder the captain turned down a mission to go on a date with her!
