Chapter 63 Test

"Dr. Li, you're not working at the First Hospital of the Capital anymore?" Jiang Zheyu asked in confusion.

Li Xingbai picked up a paper and pen from the table, adjusted his glasses with one hand, and looked over through the lenses with his clear, beautiful, and aloof silver eyes: "Miss Jiang, regarding your questions, the reason I am here is simply because I have been transferred here for a period of time."

He slowly walked to the instrument that tested mental strength and adjusted it, then added, "However, I am indeed leaving the company. The First Imperial Hospital will then reassign you a new attending physician, so you don't need to worry about that."

He'll be transferred to the military research institute to study those disgusting insects, which will free him from the disturbances of other females.

"I see." Jiang Zheyu responded unexpectedly.

However, she didn't feel comfortable asking Li Xingbai why he resigned.

"Miss Jiang, come here." After adjusting the mental measurement equipment, Li Xingbai turned his gaze to her.

Jiang Zheyu then walked over.

She realized she was still holding several orc matching data sheets, so she put them on the table and walked over.

“Miss Jiang has had her mental strength tested before, so you should know what to do, right?” Li Xingbai helped her put the mental test halo on her head. When he was close by, it seemed as if a cool breeze carried the light tea scent of the girl’s black hair.

Li Xingbai paused only slightly before leaving and walking to the control panel. His slender fingers hovered over several buttons and switches: "Miss Jiang can concentrate her attention on the light spot in the middle."

Jiang Zheyu nodded: "Okay."

She also knew how to operate based on the original owner's memories.

However, Jiang Zheyu did not want to display such high spiritual power, nor did he want to make himself special.

After all, the Empire's little princess's highest mental strength is only A+, while Jiang Zheyu's is only slightly higher.

After multiple sessions of mental therapy, Jiang Zheyu is now able to easily control his mental energy.

The light spots in the pillar of light in front of Jiang Zheyu were also slowly brightening and rising.

When Li Xingbai noticed that her level had reached C+, he was already somewhat surprised. After all, the female's previous level was only C, so it was quite impressive to be able to increase to C+ in such a short time.

He thought this was the limit for females, but to his surprise, the light spot continued to rise, becoming C++, then breaking through B, and still showing an upward trend. His gaze gradually became serious.

Jiang Zheyu stopped after controlling his mental strength level at A++.

Even Li Xingbai's usually calm silver eyes trembled slightly. He suppressed his shock and readjusted the machine: "Miss Jiang, let's test it again."

Jiang Zheyu had no objections and followed Li Xingbai's instructions to test it again.

Both measurements showed that her mental strength reached level A++.

Li Xingbai looked at her with a complicated expression: "Miss Jiang, your mental strength measurement level is A++."

Jiang Zheyu nodded slightly, seemingly unsurprised. Moreover, her mental strength was higher than A++; she was at the S level.

"The test is over. Can I go back now?" Jiang Zheyu asked softly when she saw Li Xingbai remain silent.

“I’m afraid that’s not possible now.” Li Xingbai paused, looking at the beautiful features of the woman before him. “I’ll trouble Miss Jiang to come to the palace with me later.”

Jiang Zheyu thought to himself that it was indeed not that simple.

"Okay." But she still agreed to go.

The Imperial Palace is a Western-style building with white walls and gold trim, which looks noble and majestic.

The garden's plants are neatly trimmed, the flowers are clustered together, sunlight pours down, and the open-air fountain cascades down, creating a mesmerizing display of colors.

Jiang Zheyu noticed that she had followed Li Xingbai all the way here without that prying gaze. She didn't know if it was because Li Xingbai was with her or if the beastman had already left.

"Dr. Li, who are we going to see?" Jiang Zheyu glanced at Li Xingbai beside her.

“Star Emperor,” Li Xingbai simply uttered two words.

Jiang Zheyu realized that the Star Emperor was similar to the ruler of an empire, just like an emperor in a palace.

But how could a female with a mental strength of A++ level be able to meet the Star Emperor?

I was a little nervous meeting the emperor for the first time in my life, even though he was an emperor from an interstellar world.

"Your Excellency!" came a hurried voice.

A huge, brown eagle spread its enormous wings and flew over, instantly blotting out the sun. It blocked out the sunlight above the river and stirred up a huge gale, as if the end of the world had arrived in an instant.

Behind the large brown eagle were various military aircraft that instantly surrounded it. Lasers were constantly fired at the eagle, and silver light nets were thrown at it. On the ground, a large group of orcs dressed in military uniforms and holding guns were orderly chasing after the eagle.

As the silver light net enveloped the giant eagle, various types of laser cannons rained down on it. Soon, the eagle's body shrunk to the size of a human and crashed to the ground in front of Jiang Zheyu, raising a huge cloud of dust.

The eagle struggled fiercely as it was entangled in the light net, seemingly about to pounce on Jiang Zheyu. Li Xingbai instinctively stepped in front of Jiang Zheyu to block it.

Soon, the soldiers of the palace guard surrounded the eagle and took it under control.

A young man in white walked over, accompanied by a boy with a worried expression. The young man's emotionless eyes looked at the large eagle: "Lock Lord Lin back in the basement."

"Yes," the orcs replied.

“Your Excellency Wu, I’ll go take a look too.” The young man looked at the white-robed youth.

The young man in white simply nodded slightly to indicate that he could.

The orcs quickly captured the eagle, and the boy hurriedly followed.

Only then did the young man in the white shirt look at Jiang Zheyu and the others.

"I apologize, Your Excellency, for startling you." The young man lowered his eyes, placed his right palm on his left chest, and bowed slightly to greet Jiang Zheyu politely. His voice seemed to carry a mechanical, rigid, and cold quality.

"Greetings, Commander Wu." Li Xingbai, standing beside him, also leaned forward slightly with his right hand against his left chest in greeting.

Jiang Zheyu subconsciously followed suit, placing his right hand against his left chest and leaning slightly forward to greet him: "Greetings, Commander Wu. I'm not startled."

The original owner came from a remote planet. As a C-level female, she had no chance to enter the palace, let alone meet members of the royal family.

After she made that move, both men looked at her.

Jiang Zheyu: ...

Is her hand gesture improper? Why are you looking at her like that? She hasn't studied royal etiquette, so you can't blame her for being improper.
