Chapter 159 The Fall

The night sky outside the hovercar was filled with countless stars.

Jiang Zheyu, perched on the window, could see rows of towering buildings with twinkling lights, a dazzling and beautiful sight.

"Beep! The hovercar is now in self-destruct mode. Countdown: one minute!"

"Fifty-nine, fifty-eight, fifty-seven..."

Mechanical sounds came from inside the hovercar.

Jiang Zheyu was stunned for a second, then realized what was happening: the hovercar was about to self-destruct and explode!

Inside the hovercar, red and white lights flickered, reflecting off Jiang Zheyu's delicate, slightly pale face.

"Fifty-five, fifty-four..."

This countdown is like a countdown to death.

Jiang Zheyu's forehead was covered in a fine layer of cold sweat. She rushed to the car door and kicked it, but the door didn't budge. She tried to pull the door handle to open it, but the handle she was holding onto snapped off. The door didn't open, and she was thrown backward to the ground by the momentum.

"Damn it!" Jiang Zheyu got up from the ground, about to buy the high-tech equipment given by the system to blow the door open.

Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed by an arm covered in rose tattoos.

"Thirty, twenty-nine..."

The countdown timer for the hovercar was still ringing, like a death knell.

Jiang Zheyu looked at Gu Yao, who was holding her arm, with surprise in her eyes.

"Hide behind me." It was still Gu Yao's face and voice, but the tone of his voice was calm and filled with a convincing sense of security.

Those purple eyes bloomed like quiet and steadfast violets.

Even though it was the same pair of purple eyes, when he was alone he was evil and morbid, but now his eyes were calm and convincing.

In just a moment of eye contact, Jiang Yi, who was inside the data body of the Lonely Demon android, pulled Jiang Zheyu behind him the instant he spoke. His rose-flower arm transformed into a giant laser cannon, which fired directly at the door of the hovercar.

Jiang Zheyu hid behind him, and with just a glance, she knew that the person in front of her who used the android body that resembled Gu Yao was not Gu Yao, but had become someone else.

A tremendous roar reached their ears, and various steel fragments slashed towards them, all landing on the young man as he shielded Jiang Zeyu from all the shattered blades.

The enormous roar, mixed with the countdown to the hovercar's automatic explosion, reached Jiang Zheyu's ears, causing them to ring slightly.

"Five, four, three..."

The young man carried her and instantly sped out of the hovercar. Jiang Zheyu felt a sharp wind whistling against her face, which stung her. The loud noise of the wind made her ears ring even more.

"two……"

"one……"

The two people fell rapidly downwards.

The hovercar in the sky exploded instantly, rising up like a flaming mushroom ball, the red flames mixed with thick black smoke, becoming extremely conspicuous in the night.

The clamor of the wind and the sound of explosions rushed into Jiang Zheyu's ears.

And the feeling of losing gravity as your body falls rapidly, the discomfort of being crushed all over, the extreme discomfort of being completely crushed.

The blinding wind forced Jiang Zheyu to squint slightly, and all he could see below was a dazzling array of towering buildings, their lights gleaming and blurry.

She wanted to live, but she didn't want to jump off the hovercar and fall to her death, turning into a bloody pulp.

"Sigh..." Jiang Zheyu felt that the person next to her shouldn't have wanted her to die.

So she reached out and grabbed the arm of the person next to her, about to say something, but before she could even utter a sound, something was forced into her throat, choking her and leaving her only able to cough.

"Don't be afraid, nothing will happen." The person next to her quickly turned her head into his arms to shield her from the fierce wind.

In a mere instant, Jiang Yi opened his parachute, which shot into the sky, gradually slowing their descent.

Jiang Zheyu's coughing gradually subsided.

She looked down at the twinkling lights of the skyscrapers below. Even in the darkness, the thousands of lights looked dazzling and beautiful, and the sight of the lights leaping from the sky was incredibly beautiful.

However, the reality is that a sudden spike in blood pressure, feeling weightless and uncomfortable, can even lead to death.

Sure enough, she no longer found the dazzling skyscrapers beautiful; instead, she felt a chill run down her spine. Every time she encountered space pirates, something incredibly exciting would happen, and she was truly numb.

The two were still slowly descending in the air, and the person next to her was holding her waist very tightly.

A little bit of warm, sticky moisture fell onto Jiang Zheyu's face.

She seemed to realize something, and then suddenly looked up at the person beside her. She saw that the bloodstains on his face, which Gu Yao had grotesquely slashed, were still there and were slowly oozing blood. There were also wounds and the smell of blood all over his body from when he shielded Jiang Zheyu from the shards.

She knew perfectly well that these were androids and that the blood wasn't real.

But she remembered that androids have all their senses synchronized.

Then the pain must be felt simultaneously too!

When that pervert Gu Yao slashed his own face, Jiang Zheyu didn't think about whether he was in pain or not.

But now that the person next to her was bleeding, she instinctively wanted to ask him if he was in pain.

Jiang Zheyu didn't know who he was or how he had become connected to this android. All she knew was that this person meant her no harm and had saved her.

"Are you in pain?" Jiang Zheyu frowned. "If it hurts, then leave this body. I'll grab the parachute and go down by myself."

Jiang Yi's senses were indeed synchronized with all the sensations in this body, including the piercing pain.

"It doesn't hurt." Jiang Yi smiled slightly.

Because I'm holding you, it doesn't hurt.

Jiang Zheyu looked at him and paused, her eyes flickering slightly, her lips pursed slightly.

It was clearly Gu Yao's face, but she saw Jiang Yi's shadow in that face.

"Land there!" Jiang Zheyu said hurriedly when he saw the tallest building, wanting to land quickly.

Now that she has landed, those around her should feel safe leaving the android's body. Otherwise, the pain they would endure inside this wounded body would be unbearable for ordinary people.

Jiang paused for a moment, seemingly aware of Jiang Zheyu's thoughts, and then, without saying anything more, obediently landed on the tall building.

Jiang Zheyu's feet landed on solid ground, and the anxiety that had been hanging in the air seemed to finally subside.

"Thank you." Jiang Zheyu looked up at the person in front of her. "I'll go back on my own later. You should leave this body as soon as possible."

"Okay," he replied with a smile.
