Chapter 63: Hot and Sour Cabbage [Fourth Update]
After picking the vegetables, Tu Rongrong returned to the kitchen with the basket. She smiled at Tu Che and Tu Yuanyuan who were still washing raspberries carefully.
Tu Che did not wash them one by one, but instead used a large basin of water to wash a large handful at once. The fruits picked in the mountains were not polluted and had no pesticide residues, so Tu Rongrong just planned to rinse them.
There is no pesticide but at least there should be some dust. Anyway, there are other animals in the forest, and no one can say whether other animals will bring something else when passing by, so it is better to wash it after applying the paint.
Well, she selectively forgot that she and her sister had just picked the raspberries and eaten them when they were in the mountains. Anyway, as the old saying goes, "If you eat something unclean, you won't get sick." She was not worried that she would get sick if she just picked the raspberries and ate them.
It's just so contradictory.
Seeing Tu Che and Tu Yuanyuan busy, Tu Rongrong also started preparing dinner. She washed the pot and rice and then started cooking. She cooked braised rice, the drier kind, so her sister with such a small stomach could not eat it often.
Tu Rongrong saw that there was still some porridge left from the one she made for her sister at noon. She cooked a separate pot for her sister and she ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She specially preserved it and it looked almost the same as if it had just come out of the pot.
After Tu Rongrong cooked, she opened the live broadcast room.
"Good evening, welcome everyone to 'Mao Rongrong's Live Room', I am the host Rongrong." Tu Rongrong greeted them directly after opening the live room, while arranging the dishes she was going to cook and reading the barrage.
Good evening, good evening, Goddess Rongrong.
【The goddess started live streaming! 】
[Ahhh! The Dongpo pork we had this morning was super delicious. What are we having tonight? Dongpo pork again?]
[I love you, host! I love you, goddess!]
【Here it comes! 】
【Anchor, here I come! 】
[Hey goddess, here I come, what are we having for dinner tonight? ]
Tu Rongrong looked at the comments on the barrage and said with a smile, "We had a rather greasy meal at noon. We ate too much Dongpo pork and sweet and sour spare ribs and it was a bit greasy, so we're going to have something light tonight."
[Not greasy, not greasy, I can eat Dongpo pork every meal, host!]
[Goddess, let's continue eating Dongpo pork. I love it so much. It's soft and sticky, with a strong sauce flavor. It's super delicious.]
I will never feel sick of Dongpo pork.
[Does sweet and sour spareribs not deserve a name? They are also super delicious!]
[Host, I love sweet and sour pork ribs. Shall we have sweet and sour pork ribs tonight?]
[Host, I like Dongpo pork. Let's continue making Dongpo pork tonight.]
[Host, it's just lunchtime here, and I think Dongpo pork is perfect!]
[Goddess, can I have a portion of Dongpo pork? ]
Tu Rongrong washed the cabbage and cut it into sections while looking at the comments. "You can make Dongpo pork yourself. I've posted the recipe on my homepage. You've also seen my cooking videos. You can follow along and learn from me."
[Anchor, are you kidding me? We don't have the material.]
We have pork, but we don't have the rock sugar, dark and light soy sauce, or Shaoxing wine you're using.
[Host, please don't think I didn't read the recipe. I know pork is easy to make, but we don't have soy sauce, rock sugar, or Shaoxing wine. Thank you.]
[We don't have any onions, ginger, or garlic, host.]
Tu Rongrong thought about it and agreed. She said, "Okay, I've already discussed the soy sauce, rock sugar, and Shaoxing wine with someone. I'll share the recipe with them and have them make them. They'll be available on Star Online when the time comes. You can make whatever dishes you want then."
[Really, host? Did you really sell the recipe?]
[Host, don't you have the recipe? I think soy sauce and the like have a lot of uses. StarCraft has such a large population base, so it's very profitable.]
[That's right. Look at how much money those merchants selling rice cookers, rice, and salt on Star Online are making right now. How could you bear to give them up, anchor?]
[Why am I not surprised at all that the anchor sold the recipe? ]
[Please check out the host's patented recipes. They're not expensive and all of them are donated...]
[The anchor treats money as dirt, what a noble sentiment...]
"Sorry, it's not that I despise money." Tu Rongrong couldn't help laughing as she watched the comments. "The reason I gave away the recipes and seasonings isn't because I don't value money, but because none of them were invented by me, and I feel guilty about taking money."
"After all, these recipes were invented by our Chinese ancestors. I'm just copying them. I'm not the inventor, so I can't just make a lot of money from them."
[Bah, that sounds nice, but didn't you still make that much money selling a little Dongpo pork at noon?]
[Don't say you don't love money. You're just finding ways to make money.]
[You say you don't love money? Don't you still make money from these recipes? That's a nice way to put it.]
[You rubbish anchor, you're just trying to trick those fools. You're just trying to make money in some way. You're a white lotus! You're a green tea bitch!]
[I've never seen such a bitchy anchor. She's so obsessed with money, yet she dares to say she feels guilty about taking the money?]
If you feel guilty, why don't you just stop livestreaming? You're just fooling those fools.
Tu Rongrong looked at the barrage of comments that were starting to provoke another fight, and her eyes narrowed. It was obvious that she was angry.
"I see another hater coming to troll me." Tu Rongrong said in a deep voice. The audience could hear the displeasure in her tone. They felt distressed when they heard the host's unhappy voice.
"I've said it more than once, I'm not a magnanimous person, so if you make me angry I won't tolerate you." Tu Rongrong blacklisted all those who scolded her, and then continued the live broadcast.
"Okay, after talking so much, let's just cook and ignore everything else." After Tu Rongrong put everyone on the blacklist, she changed the subject. As for whether she really loved money or not, she didn't want to discuss it. Of course she loved money, but she wouldn't do anything for it.
After Tu Rongrong finished preparing the cabbage, she took out the garlic, broke off the cloves, peeled them, smashed them, and chopped them together with the chili pepper.
Heat oil in a wok. Once heated, add chili peppers and garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the cabbage stems and stir-fry, followed by the cabbage leaves. Add appropriate amounts of salt, sugar, light soy sauce, and aged vinegar, and stir-fry until the cabbage is tender.
After these simple steps, a delicious and sour hot and sour cabbage is ready.
