The skeleton took a deep breath. "Later, she self-destructed, taking everything with her. The planet I last lived on was pushed into another interstellar orbit because of the explosion and was thus buried in the Empire's territory."
Lu Yulan was momentarily speechless, unsure if she would have the courage to face such a situation.
In that kind of environment, no one is necessarily right or wrong.
The skeleton slightly raised its head, took a breath, and said, "You explain, whose child is Miss Lan with?"
Are you sure you want to listen?
The skeleton gritted its teeth. "Why won't you listen?"
"good."
The uncle's original name was Su Yi, which was given to him by her. Her name was Su Guo, an ordinary name with a touch of sweetness.
From the moment she was born, the uncle was by her side. The direction of her mental mutation was the most unique in the royal family. In fact, it was called a prophecy only because her brain was highly active and she could calculate the choices that 99% of people would make through micro-expressions.
However, powerful superpowers require a strong physique, and Su Guo's physique is destined to be weak.
A year before that, she woke up from nightmares every day. When the first large-scale insect beast tide broke out, she cried all night.
The uncle was standing outside the door.
Later, she insisted on going to the battlefield with the army, and with each victory, her eyes drooped lower and lower.
The older man once asked her why she was unhappy.
"If your whole life is just a puppet in someone else's hands, a mere puppet, unable to break free from its constraints no matter what you do, would you be happy?"
"Not knowing makes you happy, knowing makes you unhappy."
The uncle wondered if these words had led to the later outcome.
One day, she returned home overjoyed and told him that she had found a way, all she needed to do was separate from him for a while.
He naively believed her, took the box she gave him, and left the battlefield, until the explosion.
The box contained Lu Yulan, who was just a tiny embryo at the time. Following Su Guo's instructions, he arranged for her to stay in an orphanage. He was supposed to stay with Lu Yulan, but he was a butler.
He returned to the battlefield.
Returning to the battlefield meant the end was inevitable. The Empress hated him for not protecting her sister and for not being able to change the aristocratic families' opinions.
Someone needs to take the blame for that tragedy.
Her sister will be infamous for eternity.
So he was sent to the criminal planet, and for so many years, so many years.
"This is all you want to know, all we know. As for your father, I know nothing about him either."
The uncle shook his head. Sometimes, after looking at Lu Yulan for a while, he had the illusion that he was seeing Su Guo.
But the embryo was intact, and Lu Yulan was not a clone; he knew this better than anyone else.
The skeleton didn't get the answer he wanted from the old man; that glimmer of light in his long, ordinary life ultimately chose destruction.
He really wanted to know what she was thinking at the very last moment...
Where were they abandoned? Did they know they wouldn't be tolerated by the empire, so they found them a secluded corner, even considering their future?
Lu Yulan blinked, clearing the mist from the corners of her eyes. The difference between history books and memories is that memories capture these emotions, while history books objectively present only data.
The relationship between the older man and the skeleton is heavy and complex, and Lu Yulan begins to feel a sense of curiosity about her mother.
This was once the most beloved little princess of the empire.
