Chapter 604

Seeing that Lady Bai hadn't made a move, the Empress looked up at her suspiciously, "Did you come here for something else?"

Madam Bai nodded, still without speaking, but handed over the documents in her hand. This unusual behavior surprised the Empress.

"What is it?"

He then opened the document, revealing the joint signatures of the two military leaders.

She frowned slightly, wondering why she hadn't received the message.

Continue reading, "A human weapon program is proposed, ushering in an era of universal martial arts; comparison of drug experiment results and success rates..."

The Empress frowned and the veins on her palms bulged when she saw the human weapon, clearly suppressing her anger.

She crumpled the corner of the paper document in her hand, and the sharp edge even cut her palm with the sudden movement.

Her palms were soft, and her fingers were connected to her heart, but that couldn't compare to the pain in her heart.

He raised his head, his eyes sharp as he looked at Madam Bai. "Have you seen this document?"

Madam Bai shook her head, then nodded.

Even so, the Empress gave a cold laugh and leaned back.

He threw the document at Madam Bai's face.

"Take a good look at this yourself, go back and tell your father that even if it means death, I will never agree to it."

Despite the pain from the blow to her face, Madam Bai casually picked up a picture and glanced at it.

The attached image shows a comparison between the failed and successful experiments, depicting the twisted corpses, their ferocious expressions, and their resentful eyes.

My hand trembled slightly. What has my father been doing all these years?

“Let him go back and destroy all these documents. I can still let him be a good legion commander. Otherwise, the military doesn’t need a whimsical marshal.”

"I'm afraid that won't work."

The door opened unexpectedly from the outside, and Bai Shan, dressed in military uniform and leaning on a cane, walked in. He exuded a peaceful aura, just like an elderly person.

But no one dared to ignore him; even the highest-ranking officials were no more than him.

The Empress frowned. "Bai Shan, what do you mean?"

"It's meaningless. His Majesty knows better than I what this plan would bring if it succeeds. Why should I refuse? I'm doing this all for the sake of the empire."

The Empress stood up and looked down at him. "Bai Shan, don't be so high and mighty. Others may not know how the Bai family rose to power, but I do. You're not doing this for the empire, you're doing it for yourself. All these years, the Bai family's special abilities have been taken from others. I've just turned a blind eye to it. And now you still want to carry out this inhuman experiment!"

Bai Shan smiled gently and walked in.

"So what? Superpowers should be used on useful people. Besides, I wasn't the one who suggested this experiment. Wasn't it His Majesty's dear sister who started it first?"

"Speaking of which, His Majesty is also a beneficiary, isn't he? Why not tell everyone?"

The Empress's figure was slightly unsteady, and her gaze towards Bai Shan was like a dagger.

"You're dreaming!"

Bai Shan dragged a stool over and sat down opposite the Empress. Now he was sitting while the Empress was standing.

But he was more composed and steady.

"I think this dream needs to be tested. Does Your Majesty still remember the large-scale production of the drug that the Keynes family launched through Professor He a few days ago?"

Empress: "What do you mean? You... you tampered with it!"

Bai Shan clapped his hands, his face full of admiration. "The Empress is indeed clever. I put a medicinal ingredient inside—a drop of blood!"
