Chapter 3 The Race That Provides Blood

After going through all her memories, Yan Jin got up and walked outside. The plants here were not edible at all, and staying here would only be dangerous and useless. It would be better to go back to her place and think of another way.

About half an hour after leaving here, you'll gradually see signs of habitation. Occasionally, you'll see one or two people with black hair and black eyes, just like Yan Jin, passing by in a hurry, their faces blank, busy making a living.

In this interstellar world where only nutrient solutions exist and food is scarce, and where strength and skill reign supreme, orcs unleash the warlike nature inherent in their genes. They learn skills daily, taking pride in their power. As for food?

As long as there is nutrient solution, it is enough to survive. At most, it will hunt some non-poisonous animals that can be eaten directly to maintain its wildness and instincts.

However, due to the side effects of the nutrient solution and the beast's own genes, most beastmen also suffer from genetic diseases to varying degrees as their abilities grow stronger and they fight for a long time.

Milder cases may involve headaches, gradual weakening of bodily functions, or even animalization. The most severe cases result in complete animalization, where the individual can no longer transform into human form and eventually loses all thought.

This is what the orcs fear most, yet it is unavoidable. The orcs have been researching how to eradicate this genetic disease that causes complete bestiality, but they have not yet been able to overcome it.

Humans, as the lowest form of existence, have no skills, cannot transform into beasts, and do not suffer from these genetic diseases, yet they cannot survive because there are poisonous animals and plants everywhere.

The orcs took advantage of this, providing humans with small amounts of nutrient solutions and basic necessities like plant houses to ensure their survival. In return, humans provided the orcs with blood to research genetic diseases and performed the most menial tasks to maintain their own existence.

Yunshui Star is the planet inhabited by humans. Humans live numbly here, providing their blood in exchange for a small amount of nutrient solution, and doing garbage sorting in exchange for limited resources. Occasionally, they can find some valuable items in the garbage to exchange for gold coins, so that their lives can be made a little better.

The planet Yunshui is named for the fact that two-thirds of it is water. The beasts in the water are beings that humans cannot contend with, so the space for humans is very small, and the number of humans is decreasing.

To date, the total human population on Yunshui Star is only around 50,000, which is the entire human population of interstellar space. Humanity is on the verge of extinction.

The original owner, Yan Jin, was one of these 50,000 people, and she also survived until the end, when she starved to death.

Yan Jin transmigrated and took over this body.

Following her memories, Yan Jin returned to her residence, a house built from a huge plant. This plant was non-toxic but inedible, yet very sturdy, making it perfect for building.

The humans here all live in these plants. Yan Jin's plant house is very small, about the height of a lamp on the ground. You have to climb up and down with a rope. Then there is a platform. When you open the door, you see a small and messy living room with all sorts of odds and ends.

On the left is a small room with a bed, a cabinet, and a lamp; on the other side is a toilet with a shower.

As an orphan girl who lost her parents at the age of ten, Yan Jin is already very remarkable to have such a home that wasn't taken away by others.

This is the home Yan Jin saw, everything the original owner had in this world.
