Chapter 113: Year-End Accounting (1/2)

Chapter 113: Year-End Accounting

When the Tan family was in turmoil, Su He was in the yard watching Jin Weiguo packing his things.

Jin Weiguo was tidying up the greenhouse over his vegetable patch. This winter was colder than usual, and the old greenhouse cover, made of sewn-together snakeskin bags, was not only light-tight but also blew through by the northeast wind.

Just a few days before Jin Weiguo came back, the little spinach started to look a little listless, as if it had been hit by frost.

Jin Weiguo has been home these two days, so of course he has to find a way to do these things that a man should do.

He also had a solution. He went out for a walk and bought a lot of plastic sheets. He also bought some bamboo from farmers in the town. He split the thick bamboo into four halves, then bent them and placed them on both sides of the spinach field. The height was just enough for a person to squat in and pick the vegetables, and the plastic sheet was fixed on top.

The couple hadn't seen each other for a long time. Jin Weiguo asked Su He to come and help her, but in fact he just wanted her to watch him work!

Su He: "You don't even need my help, I think you can do it just fine on your own!"

Jin Weiguo: "It's been so long since we last met. I've only been back for two days, and you already dislike me?"

Su He: "Who dislikes you? It's cold, isn't it? I'm so comfortable staying indoors! It's so cold outside that my ears are almost frozen off!"

As the couple said this, they heard screams and quarrels outside.

The sound is not very clear and is intermittent. It is mainly caused by the northeast wind. If it were a southwest wind, I would probably be able to hear it more clearly.

Su He looked up at Jin Weiguo and said, "Let me go outside the gate to see what's going on!"

Jin Weiguo: "I guess there's a quarrel going on in the west, a fight between a couple, and you're still trying to break it up? Don't let anyone get hurt accidentally!"

Su He: "Yeah, I know. I'll just watch from a distance and come back if I see someone making a fuss!"

Jin Weiguo shook his head and watched Su He go back into the house and put on a hat before going out.

As soon as I walked out the door, I ran into Mrs. Yuan from next door: "Xiao Su, I heard that noise at home, so I came out to see who it was! It's such a beautiful day, and the New Year is almost here! It's making the neighbors feel uneasy!"

Su He nodded and followed Mrs. Yuan to the west.

It was the Tan family that was arguing, which was surprising but also not surprising.

Although the Tan couple had been married for many years without having children, the mother-in-law had already been unable to take care of herself. She had never said anything over the years. She just thought that the couple could support each other and live a peaceful life together. It could be said that she had no requirements for her son and daughter-in-law!

Therefore, the neighbors in the family compound have never seen the couple quarreling, and they live a good life together.

It was not surprising, but easy to understand. The people who were arguing were Tang Caizhu and Tang Caixia's two closest relatives. Old Mrs. Tang, who wore a cotton-padded jacket and a blue cloth gown with a slanted collar, was the grandmother of the two sisters.

The other one was wearing a cotton-padded jacket with a gray jacket with a small suit collar over it. She was Li Cuiying's mother, Old Lady Li, the grandmother of the two sisters.

As the Chinese New Year was approaching, the two old ladies came to the Tan family without an appointment, wanting to take their granddaughter and granddaughter-in-law to their home to celebrate the New Year.
