Chapter 77 Steamed Buns with Dried Fish (2/2)

After buying good things, she also bought herself a hat so that she could wear it when she went out tomorrow.

The next morning, my mother-in-law got up early to prepare steamed buns. The temperature in the room was high, and the dough fermented overnight.

Su He was also helping to prepare the steamed buns: "Mom, I'll get some dry goods as a sample and take them to the village to have a look."

Teacher Wu: "You should eat first. It's cold out, and it's even colder if you don't have food in your stomach!"

Su He helped her mother-in-law shape the steamed buns, and then went to get some dried yellow crucian carp and fried some for breakfast. She also took some of the other things, put them in a cloth bag and put them aside. She would take these to the market to ask for the price.

Teacher Wu used the big iron pot on the stove to steam buns, while Su He took a small pot and fried dried fish on the fire wall stove on the west wing side of the restaurant.

The aroma of the fried yellow crucian carp is so overbearing. The restaurant and kitchen are connected, and the door from the kitchen to the yard is still closed, but the smell still rushes out!

Teacher Wu: "I just went to the yard to scoop water, and I could smell the fried fish! It smells so good!"

Not long after, Da Mao and Er Mao came into the kitchen with half-closed eyes: "What a nice smell! I was in the room and woke up by the smell!"

Su He: "Hurry up and get dressed. Don't wear a coat like this. It's warm inside and cold outside. It's easy to catch a cold. Wash up and then you can eat!"

Teacher Wu looked at the fire in the stove and saw that the few sticks of firewood could still burn for quite a while. She stood up and said to her two grandchildren, "Come on, get dressed quickly. I think Xiaobao will be waking up soon. Grandma will go with you!"

For breakfast, they had steamed buns with fried dried fish and rice soup. Su He also had some cold dried radish.

Su He fried the fish a little longer on purpose. The whole fish was crispy and fragrant, and even the bones melted in the mouth. She didn't worry about the children getting choked by the bones at all.

Su He: "Big Mao and Second Mao, don't go out to play today, you hear me? We have a fireplace in this room, and the room next door is warm too. Go play in that room later. Grab a small pencil and let grandma teach you how to write big characters. If you behave well, grandma still has some shrimp cakes, which I'll give you later."

Teacher Wu also nodded: "Da Mao and Er Mao, you two are so conceited this morning that you put on your old pants. Xiao Bao saw it and wanted to wear them too. You haven't patched your clothes yet. If you go out, others will be jealous. Do you understand? If you go out to play, you have to wear old clothes. Do you understand?"

Su He: "When you go to bed at night, take off your clothes and Mom and Grandma will sew two patches on your pants. Only then can you wear these clothes out to play."

The three children had three pairs of black corduroy overalls, which they were now wearing over the corduroy pants.

Ermao: "Mom, I'm in the room and I feel a little hot!"

"Well, you can just wear your trousers at home. Take off your outer pants. Mom has something to do out there today. If I come across any good snacks and I happen to have a ticket, I'll buy them back."

Ermao: "Mom, you are really the best mom!"

Damao was happy for only two seconds before his face turned sad again: "Mom, will you spend all the money in the house like this? In the past, you gave the money to grandma's family, but now you don't give it to me anymore, and you start spending money every day again! Oh..."

Teacher Wu patted her eldest grandson lightly and said, "Is the steamed bun with dried fish delicious? Eat it quickly. Your mother knows!"

Su He laughed: "Da Mao, where did you learn all this from?"

Damao: "Several adults have said this about you. They say you're too good at shopping. You buy several kilograms of meat at a time, and you buy more coal than other families. They say you're living from today to tomorrow!"

Su He: "Don't worry about what others say. They have their own opinions, how can I stop them? But, Mom knows what's going on. Mom wants you three to grow up well, with warm clothes on, full stomachs, and something in your heads, not just empty heads! So you still have to follow Grandma and write big characters today, okay?"

Xiaobao, a baby over one year old, actually knows how to express himself: "Mommy, baby write! Baby write!"

Teacher Wu first gave Xiaobao an encouraging kiss: "Xiaobao, you are great!"

Then Xiaobao looked at Su He with expectant eyes, almost saying, "Mommy, it's your turn to kiss me!"

Su He had no choice but to stand up and kiss Xiaobao. Then Damao and Ermao also stood up and kissed her forehead as Xiaobao requested.

Ermao sighed: "Xiaobao is still young, and I am the older brother!"

Su He had been suppressing her laughter before, but after hearing Ermao's words, she really couldn't help laughing!

Family: Hahahaha…
