Chapter 82: Life Goes On (2/2)

After a simple dinner, Teacher Wu killed a chicken.

Su He then started a livestream: [A domesticated hen encounters fish maw! This episode features a foodie theme!]

She took the old hen that her mother-in-law had killed and began to scald the flesh with hot water. After processing, she put it in a two-ear pot, added half a pot of water, and put some ginger slices. After it boiled, she put the soaked gelatin into the pot and stewed it together with the whole chicken.

The chicken was simmering on the stove. Su He took out flour, eggs, and sugar, mixed them together, and added some oil. She should have beaten the eggs, but she didn't have the energy to do so. So she cleverly added a little baking soda and a little sourdough starter, thinking that if she left it overnight, the ingredients would ferment and the cake should be just as fluffy when baked!

Gradually, some people started to like her posts, and she became quite popular!

Much better than when she first started live streaming.

The system gave her some advice: [Suki, you'd better have your mother-in-law appear on camera and drink a bowl of soup. This will make her look more appetizing and get more likes!]

Su He didn't want to be on camera: "Forget it, I don't want my mother-in-law to show her face either!"

System: [Alright... Su㹏, as long as you're happy!]

"I didn't expect you to object!"

[I've been live streaming a lot more recently! I'm so happy!]

Su He: The system... is it so easy to be bribed?

After finishing the preparations, Su He ended today's live broadcast and started a preview for the next morning's live broadcast: [My first time making fish maw chicken soup and egg cake, will it be successful?]

In short, she has completely let go of live streaming.

The next morning, she was thinking about making egg cakes and woke up early.

After she washed up, she changed herself into a dark red plaid hairstyle, found a ragged piece of clothing to wear when going out, put it on as an apron over the clothes, and started to work.

As soon as she entered the kitchen, she turned on the live broadcast and while working, she talked about why she did it and how she came up with the idea.

Fortunately, it was still early and my mother-in-law and the children had not come out yet, otherwise it would have been quite scary to see her mumbling to herself!

She used a few bowls, smeared a layer of oil inside the bowls, and then poured the egg liquid into them. The egg liquid expanded a lot, and there were some bubbles in it, which seemed to be fermented.

There was already a fire in the oven outside. She took a few more burning pieces of wood and put them on the upper layer. The middle layer was a shelf, and the bowl of egg cakes was placed on it.

Soon she felt that the fire was burning well, so she added a little more firewood and put the bowl in.

Soon, the aroma of egg cake came out.

Su He explained: "The aroma of egg cake is coming out. I guess my three children will wake up soon when they smell it!"

Sister Yuan from next door had already smelled the scent. She got up early and came to knock on the door. Su He opened the door and invited Sister Yuan in.

Su He: "Master's wife, have breakfast at our house. I made some baked egg cakes. It's my first time making them, so I'm not sure if they'll be good! I'll roll out some noodles later and cook them in the chicken soup."

Mrs. Yuan waved her hands repeatedly: "Don't cook noodles anymore, I have some delicious food at home, wait for me to go back and get it."

After Mrs. Yuan turned around and went back, there was no one in the yard. Su He continued to explain: "See, the neighbors next door have already smelled the food and come over! They know it's delicious without even trying it!"

Not long after, Mrs. Yuan brought another plate, this time with scallion pancakes in it. It was different from the ones made by Su He's second aunt's house. This kind of scallion pancake was layered. According to Su He's cooking method, it would be more appropriate to call it a thousand-layer pancake.

Mrs. Yuan: "Forget about the noodles, just eat these pancakes! I was preoccupied with things and couldn't sleep this morning. I woke up before five. It was pitch black outside and I had nothing to do, so I mixed the dough and made two pots of scallion pancakes. I've been home alone lately, so I've had enough oil to burn!"
