Chapter 11 ran away

"Judging from the method, this is his doing," the man continued. "He has unlimited potential. He is one of the few mutants and superhumans who are both human and superhuman, and he is extremely powerful. We want to recruit him."

The photos of the corpses in the 3D image disappeared, but a video continued to play.

It was a peacock dance, like dancing in the moon, beautiful and unique. His movements became more and more perfect, and his dancing became more and more perfect, as if it were made for him.

Whoosh!

Her long dress spread out, casting a graceful arc on the white moon, like clouds in the sky, or fairies among the clouds.

He danced on stage, while well-trained soldiers approached step by step, driving away countless irrelevant people and surrounding him from all directions. They raised their guns and aimed at the stage, the whole action completed in one smooth motion.

Fang Hua on stage remained unmoved. Like a true artist, he insisted on finishing the dance, imitating the peacock's every move and posture.

The thousands of soldiers below the stage were stunned, and they couldn't bear to interrupt the elegant dance steps until the song ended.

Drinking from the spring, playing in the water, stretching his arms, flying—his movements were fluid and seamless, bringing the dance to a close.

A complete peacock appeared on the moon, chest out, tail wagging, while Fang Hua raised her head high and pulled up her skirt.

"Fire!" A fierce shout rang out, followed by countless gunshots, mixed with the sound of metal scraps falling to the ground. Bullet casings quickly piled up, making it difficult to even step on them.

The moon on the stage was riddled with holes and almost shattered. The backstage lights were unfortunately hit and flickered weakly as the gunfire gradually subsided.

Thousands of soldiers stared intently at the tattered moon on the platform, which was empty. They didn't know whether Fang Hua was dead or injured.

The scene was completely silent. The person filming the video couldn't resist moving closer, causing the video to shake.

A blood-stained beast's claw suddenly appeared, tearing open the shattered moon. It descended abruptly, opening its blood-red maw to bite the person who had filmed the video to death. After a scream, the video shook even more violently, eventually flickering and going out.

"None of the more than a thousand people who went that day came back, including two captains and a major. Do you know what that means?"

"He has become stronger."

“That’s right.” The man loosened his tie. “If he continues to grow stronger, the country will have no choice but to take action. His chances are limited, and whether he can seize them depends entirely on you.”

"Me?" Fang Rong hesitated. "What can I do?"

"Fang Rong," the man looked at him seriously, "Do you know why I didn't use torture to extract a confession, but instead treated you with courtesy?"

Fang Rong shook her head. "I don't know."

“Because you are capable.” He pushed back his stool and stood up. “Feiyuan Group has tens of thousands of employees like you, with a layoff rate as high as 70%. No more than 10% of them can stay for more than two years, but you have been here for five years. I believe this is not a coincidence. You must have some kind of skill to understand them and gain their trust.”

He put away the documents and looked Fang Rong straight in the eye. "Helping me is helping yourself, and it's also helping Fang Hua."

The two were so close that they could feel each other's breaths, and Fang Rong tried to dodge them.

“You can think about it, you don’t have to answer me now.” He tucked the documents under his arm and opened the door. “It’s been a bit chaotic outside lately, I’ll take you home. By the way, my surname is Meng, you can call me Xiuyuan.”

Meng Xiuyuan was an extremely charming man, exuding mature hormones in every move. He was understanding and gentle, and he easily guessed Fang Rong's thoughts. "Don't be afraid. Even if you don't help me, I will respect your choice."

Fang Rong was still somewhat confused, "Aren't you going to punish me?"

"No, someone asked me to look after you." He was quite honest.

Why are you only saying this now?

"Because you can't have both public and private matters." Meng Xiuyuan waved to him, "Come on, I'll take you."

Fang Rong started walking to catch up with him, "May I ask who it is?"

"All I can tell you is that good people get good rewards." He was still quite gentle, trying his best to be considerate of Fang Rong's feelings and not put pressure on him. "The car is outside. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?"

Fang Rong shook her head, "No need, let's go!"

He has developed a psychological aversion to this place; every now and then a scream will erupt before silence returns, just like a scene from a horror movie.

"It seems you don't really like this place." Meng Xiuyuan opened the car door and let Fang Rong get in first. He closed the door before getting into the driver's seat, fastening his seatbelt, and reminding Fang Rong, "Safety first."

"Okay." Fang Rong hurriedly fastened her seatbelt as well.

When he arrived, he was sitting in the back seat, his mind in turmoil, and he didn't have time to properly observe the place. Only now did he realize that this was actually the city center, with a lot of people and a lively atmosphere, far surpassing his neighborhood.

Meng Xiuyuan was driving a maglev flying car, the kind that's really fast, like a sports car from over a hundred years ago. It disappeared in a flash. He was also a skilled driver, so Fang Rong didn't even have time to look around properly before they arrived home.

It was raining outside. The car came to a steady stop in front of his house, and Meng Xiuyuan came out with an umbrella to open the door for him.

Fang Rong had just stuck one foot out when Meng Xiuyuan suddenly called out to him, "Your shoelace is untied."

He handed the umbrella to Fang Rong and naturally squatted down to tie his shoelaces. "The beast was confined in a cage from a young age and had never seen the outside world. The first thing he did after coming out was to determine where he was on the food chain. If no one stopped him, he would keep killing until he was sure that he was at the top of the food chain."
