Fang Rong cut a piece of fruit and brought it to the little guy's mouth. It must have smelled the sweetness. It sniffed and stuck out its pink tongue to suck on it. It looked so cute and adorable, just like another Fang Hua.
Fang Rong was amused by it and couldn't help but laugh out loud. He picked up the plate and prepared to juice the fruit for it to drink.
As soon as I entered the lounge, the phone rang, and Meng Xiuyuan's half-human figure was presented in a three-dimensional form.
"Fang Rong, I need to talk to you urgently. Take this call." He seemed quite anxious.
Fang Rong raised her arm and pressed the button on the answering icon.
Meng Xiuyuan's image became clearer, his face showing exhaustion. "Fang Rong, I heard that you've been handling Fang Hua's daily life. Do you remember anything different about Fang Hua when he was a child?"
Fang Rong frowned. The only thing he could think of was that Fang Hua had eaten his brothers and sisters. "The last time I spoke to you, he ate his brothers and sisters."
"I'm not referring to that." Meng Xiuyuan shook his head. "I mean, normally, what's the difference between my test subjects and other people's?"
Fang Rong thought about it carefully, "He's easy to feed, so why not just let him eat anything?"
"Do you eat things that are either water-based or fire-based?" He seemed to have hit the nail on the head, and Meng Xiuyuan's expression turned serious.
"Hmm." Fang Rong asked, puzzled. "What's wrong? Is there a problem?"
“Yes, this is a big problem.” Meng Xiuyuan put on his military cap and hurriedly walked outside. “His superpowers are multi-attribute, and we are finding it increasingly difficult to deal with him.”
Fang Rong felt uneasy. "Didn't you promise me you'd relax your supervision of him?"
Meng Xiuyuan sighed, "I've tried, but it's no use. He killed someone again. This time the matter is more serious and can't be covered up anymore. Fang Rong, this is his last chance. If he doesn't turn over a new leaf, I'm afraid the higher-ups will really take action."
Fang Rong was startled. "Isn't there any other way?"
“Yes. He only has two paths now: either abandon the darkness and join the military, or leave the spaceship and go to the orc world.” Meng Xiuyuan looked troubled. “This is the best I can do.”
Fang Rong's breath hitched, and she lowered her arm dejectedly. "I understand, thank you."
"You're welcome." The 3D image went black, and the call was disconnected. Meng Xiuyuan was clearly very busy.
Fang Rong had originally been in the mood to feed the little experimenter, but now he had no mood for it at all. He just wanted to hurry back and tell Fang Hua.
But how could he tell Fang Hua?
He and Fang Hua have lost contact.
Fang Rong sat on the bed, her mind blank, not knowing what to do.
He remained in this state, lacking energy at work, and almost made a mistake with the food, which aroused public outrage, but fortunately it was discovered in time.
Before he knew it, it was getting late and time to leave work. He boarded the maglev train, but after taking a short detour, he realized he didn't need to take the train. His home was near the company, and luckily he hadn't gone too far. He could still turn back in time.
He got off at the last car race and walked back.
The streetlights were dim, and a light rain was falling. As he walked down the street, he suddenly felt a chill. It wasn't the kind of chill that you feel when the weather is cold, but rather the kind of chill that you feel when you're using the restroom. Suddenly, he felt a chill down his back, as if something was watching him.
Fang Rong recalled the recent news reports of murders in various places, where the perpetrators were cruel and inhumane, not only eating people but also bleeding themselves dry, and couldn't help but quicken her pace.
He glanced back every now and then and found that there really was something following him. However, the thing was hidden too well. Every time he turned around, he found that there was no one there. Only a fleeting shadow on the ground betrayed him.
Fang Rong was even more frightened, but dared not disturb the person behind him. He could only secretly speed up and call Meng Xiuyuan. It seemed that only Meng Xiuyuan could give him a sense of security. In fact, Meng Xiuyuan was the only person he knew.
The phone rang, but no one answered for a long time. Fang Rong was so anxious that cold sweat poured down her forehead.
Answer it quickly, please!
Unfortunately, the phone seemed to be working against him, displaying a busy tone and saying, "Your phone is not in service area!"
This made him even more terrified. It was 2180, and the signal had covered every corner. There couldn't be any blind spots. If there were, there was only one possibility: the person following him was a superhuman. Only the magnetic field around a superhuman could affect the signal.
He was in a state of turmoil, feeling short of breath. It was only around 11 p.m., usually the busiest time of day, but for some reason, it was so deserted today.
Fang Rong started running. He could already see the coffee shop ahead, where people were chatting and laughing. He knew he would be safe once he got there.
He was very close; less than a hundred meters away, he suddenly sprinted into the coffee shop. He almost bumped into someone because he was running so fast. She was a woman who called him a lunatic and left.
"We're safe now!" Fang Rong breathed a sigh of relief, not minding the man's fierce tone at all, and even feeling a sense of familiarity.
He found a seat by the window and sat down. The kind staff member brought him a cup of coffee. He held the coffee in his hand, feeling much more at ease.
It was still drizzling outside, dripping and pattering. Fang Rong tilted his head and looked around. The street he had just walked through seemed cursed, a stark contrast to the surrounding area. Other streets were bustling with people during rush hour, but that street was deserted and quiet.
"What happened over there? Why is it so deserted?" Fang Rong couldn't help but ask.
The shop owner was a kind person. "You don't know, do you? Someone died there a couple of days ago."
Fang Rong was startled, and her hands began to tremble uncontrollably again.
While he was filled with anxiety, Fang Hua was strolling in the rain.
